  1. isn't it just! gutted we've only taken the 1400 for arsenal, that sold out ages before as well. could've taken the 2000 i reckon. will be interesting to see how many we take to stoke in april. with 3-4 weeks inbetween the two, hopefully we'll sell the full 3000. i don't think so to be honest mate. next allocation up is 4200 but that's only given over for cup games. like when we played them in the fa cup.
  2. I was confident of a win until you said that... Everyone...and I mean, everyone, breaks their record against the Villa...everyone. yep! swansea got their first away win at villa park last season, torres scored his first premier league goal in six months against us last march, newcastle got their first away win at villa park this season, southampton kept their first clean sheet of the season against us, and even the millwall fans i was talking to in the pub were telling me that they hadn't scored from a corner in two or three years, prior to our match. although i don't know how accurate that is. they're just the ones off the top of my head but there's been far more than that over the past three years. we're the gift that keeps on giving.
  3. it did, didn't it?! couldn't see any empties where i was. and having just seen the motd highlights which included numerous shots of the villa end, i couldn't see anywhere in that 1800 allocation where there were empty seats or big empty spaces. and agreed on the vocal support. we were absolutely fantastic, as ever, from first minute to last.
  4. agreed, it's a shocking turnout and we should at least be selling the 1800. shame we've got so many fair-weather fans (plenty of them on this forum begging for tickets when doing well) that disappear in the bad times. everton always bring 3000 (or close to) to us. we regularly struggle to sell the 1800 at theirs despite relatively reasonable prices. although i can't agree on west ham & sunderland. west ham when they last went down, leading up to that wigan away game, were taking a few hundred fans away. likewise sunderland took less than we're taking to everton earlier in the season when in a bad spell, and we've taken considerably more than them to norwich, west ham, southampton & fulham. don't be taken in by safc fans' adopted geordie mentality of painting their support as far better than it is, numbers wise. they sit at a large portion of their away games, too.
  5. 1139 sold. that's funny, where have the extra 3000 odd fans we took to bradford gone...?
  6. a8 (trinity - £29), b1 (trinity - £39) or p7 (witton lane - £39) would be your best bet. in fact, i think they're the only ones with two seats together so get in quick! haha didn't count yesterday but these are figures from a couple of hours ago: 135 in the witton lane, 455 in the trinity; the vast majority of which are in block a8. 590 left in total. i'd expect most of the 590 to go today with the ticket office open from 9am until 5pm. but there's going to be a lot of single seats left over, so it may not register as an official sell out. i would say though, i've done this in the past for league games and it's been well out!
  7. i wouldn't worry, i think pacbuddies realises he's shown himself up; hence not responding to the queue of posters lining up to tell him he's talking rubbish.
  8. all very nondescript. some interesting comments from liam, though: i don't think liam likes us very much! it's a shame that a young lad like himself can suffer so much pent-up anger and frustration from living in the shadow of aston villa football club and its terrific fans. poor lad.
  9. haha you're as sad as i am. i've been doing the same every day since sunday! 2914 remaining on sunday, 2639 on monday, 2017 yesterday, and 1301 as of about half an hour ago so sounds about right. 251 left in the witton lane, 1050 left in the trinity; the problem now will be shifting all the £39 single seats that have been left. although there's still hundreds of £29 seats together in the trinity wings a1 & a8.
  10. naturally you're referring to the villa there so i thank you for your best wishes in the forthcoming game. you couldn't possibly be talking about the club that gets 10,000 crowds at home and takes 600 fans away, could you? no siree.
  11. also the queen pub, near to bradford interchange station. that one holds 750 so is much larger than the bradford arms and the fighting cock. (150 & 100 capacity, respectively)
  12. ermmm, no, there's nothing on SHA to suggest there was any trouble. try reading the thread and not just the title. there's discussions about their 'zulus' every other day on that forum, and the majority of posts thankfully poke fun at them. it's clueless football fans outside of clubs like SHA, millwall and leeds, that keep their reputations intact. as you've demonstrated. birmingham city and millwall....the clubs that struggle to take a few hundred fans to their away games and get piss-poor crowds at home, yet fans still come out with the bile that they have 'notorious firms'. hilarious. as for this tie, 4000 villa fans, a covered and well-policed walkway from the station to the away end, a stand-alone end that doesn't need to be shared with millwall fans, and the opportunity to drink wherever you like in central london. the collective bed-wetting on here and h&v is absolutely pathetic....
  13. seen two villa fans tweet avfcofficial to ask why they've been charged £25 for albion as u21's. as can be seen from the above information, the price should be £15. so that's now sunderland, liverpool & albion away where they've listed the wrong ticket price details. for sunderland they listed a young adult price of £21 (i think it was), then removed, tried to deny and refused to apologise on the phone; charging the full £29 but then agreeing to forgo the booking fee. liverpool they listed a young adult price of £33 then later removed, and now for albion they've listed on the o/s a price of £15 for students and u21's which differs to the £25 being shown (and indeed charged) on the ticket website. beyond a joke now. fans budget for these games and they don't appreciate being told a price then, upon being charged for the game (away scheme) or ringing up to get their ticket, finding they're actually paying up to £11 more for a ticket. absolutely awful, villa. every game...
  14. why do people keep saying this?! they play each other in the league twice a season, it's not a novelty. leeds will be lucky to get 20k inside elland road, and SHA always struggle to take more than 1000 up there. everyone said the same when they drew millwall in the fa cup a few years back. they played them on a saturday, the tickets were cheap, and they took 600 fans. baffling...
  15. sunderland have about 1000 there right now......
  16. we weren't getting mauled in midfield because we quite simply didn't have one. it was attack vs. defence in that second half. beneteke and gabby were winning the ball to find absolutely nobody supporting them. ireland would have given them an option at least....
  17. 3500. ----------------------- wmpvilla said that as of thursday we'd sold 2272.
  18. we'd sold 1628 yesterday morning and only just sold the initial 1700 yesterday evening. we wouldn't have even sold 2000!! ---------------- i do wonder, with our league position and everyone in the media lining up to have a pop at us and tell us we're shit, why the prices we're being charged at away games aren't reflected in that. we're being charged the prices of a top eight club. looking forward to it anyway, it was class last year before being ejected for over-exuberant celebrations following barry bannan's pen. the villa fans sounded great though, could hear them loud and clear from the roads surrounding the ground haha. see you all in walkabout!
  19. what we can't afford is going down and missing out on the 70% rise in the tv deal next season. scoring goals is a problem. creating chances no longer seems to be. the chances we've created against the likes of sunderland, reading & arsenal; bent puts those away. i'm not suggesting he's the correct fit for every game, but what an option to have at the club. it's baffling to me that he's not being utilised...
  20. cheers mate, villa have just tweeted to say it's sold out as well. 1700 @ £40-£45 a ticket is excellent.
  21. have we sold out then? edit: oops. beaten to it!
  22. going by the text messages they're sending to people to try and shift them (never had a text before trying to sell away tickets!), it looks like we've taken the 4100 with no option to give any back. silly really. they've shown they were right to take just the 1700 at man city & qpr but they've obviously over-estimated the pull that this game would have. especially given it's such a difficult one to get to. they should've taken the initial 2400 allocation, then the 3500 that spurs had, then 4100 if needed. looks like we're really struggling to sell them. having said that, there's still a couple of weeks until the game, 3 games where we should do well in - and hopefully bring out some of the fair-weather fans for the trip, and two home games for people to walk up and buy. that's what i'll be doing tomorrow so you can add two onto what we've sold thus far!
  23. and newcastle! it was bloody lovely. 23 degrees, bright sunshine, great performance.
  24. that ties in with what i've just been told. spoke to them an hour ago, 2000 left.
