  1. Ahamaad the day after a night shift continues to take his role as VT moderator seriously!
  2. Sad part is CV the real news is more pathetic and less believable than those stories as The Sun launches a £10k campaign for a memorial for the whale that died!
  3. I'm just crossing my fingers it takes less effort and is not as likely to kill you
  4. Fingers crossed people, wonder what the in-breds from across the way are thinking at present. Mwahaha!
  5. Excited but cautious is my mood at present. I'll be watching the space closely in the upcoming days, may mean Arsenal game could be a bit of a celebration of a whole new era!
  6. Anyone noticed that the newest user is someone called Chris_Villan, anyone would think he's trying to up his vote count further on all VT awards!
  7. I bet this has had more votes as a poll than any of the other VT awards!
  8. The thread is entitled which Mod is least liable to bribery and corruption and you voted for the one who bribed you! No wonder the civil service is in such a mess!
  9. I voted no, he's annoyed me and now has 2 strikes, but it'll take a 3rd to get him out that could and probably will come should we get nothing from the next 3 games. I have more patience than most and think that a manager doesn't become poor over night and he was a good manager at Leeds motivating young players into beating some of the best sides in Europe (a point clearly forgotten by those at caughtoffside.com) Jewell was deemed a failure and sacked by Sheffield Wednesday and is now achieving great things at Wigan, you can slag me off for saying it but I'm sticking with DOL certainly in the short term and nothing anyone is going to say is going to change my mind as i feel he's a young manager who can go far in the game. Yes we deserve better than last night and the point that pisses me off is not the fact that we got beat (I can take that, its part of football) its the lack of apology, but if we make up for it with performances then as the saying goes 'talk is cheap' and actions will speak louder than words. There will be a time to go and then and only then can the people who have been pumping out the same crap for a year or so can rejoice, but I don't believe that time is yet. I know certain people will say i'm wrong, but Fergie was in a similar situation at Man U not so many years ago and turned it round so maybe its not all as cut and dry as some people think!
  10. Gotta love the way people have written off the new Wembley without even having been there. The reason Wembley will be the best ground is because its the place you're most likely to see Villa win things and thats what matters to me!
  11. Must admit I thought with the title it was going to be called to stop doing so many polls. Must admit i'm in agreeance with JC and Rob on this one in that if we don't buy Baros then we won't be signing anyone of significance! But hey we already got the 4 quality players we needed to take this club forward so what the heck!
  12. For a minute I thought it said Me and Ian then realised its Milan so have gone with Milan and Super Kev to give Juan a kick up the backside.
  13. Bosnich the only one of those keepers to have won honours in a villa shirt and a massive influence in doing so.
  14. Good to see the pedants are about today 8) but guess it was deserved for my teasing yesterday re Phillips' madical. For the record it should say: in for Bellamy!
  15. Technically we are in Bellamy, but yes your point is correct in that according to DOL's comments on OS Phillips was one of the targets on the list and thus we should be looking at better strikers than Phillips! But as a stop-gap he's ok nothing more nothing less!
  16. So with Ranson alledgedly thinking about a bid I thought we'd ask the question how much would Doug sell for? Although Richard offered £5,000 in another thread I've started at £20 million because thats roughly as low as the value has fallen in the past
  17. Have to agree with my namesake and Bri on this one he will act as back-up, last time we experimented with a back-up becoming the number 1 keeper it went a bit wrong with Enckelman (although I'm sure tonyh will disagree), he'll be cover but never 1st choice!
  18. Hes mentioned on the previous page of this thread and i got called bone idle for not looking on google for why the rugby ball is shaped like an egg, so god know what that makes you mate
  19. Just a word of warning with regards Glazer being the best thing since sliced bread, at present he has a lawsuit against his sister with regards his mother's estate which he wants all of, despite the fact that his sister is seemingly entitled to some of it. Glazer has told his lawyers to keep fighting the case until the value of the estate is nil compared to the legal costs involved, this from a multi-millionaire! The case is at present stil running. But having played devil's advocate I'd still prefer a chairman who is willing to invest £25 million per season in the side compared to an elderly man who has resided over the least successful period of our club's history!
  20. I see Parker has signed for Newcastle, odd that because I'm sure someone on here said it was a done deal for him to come to us. Think the alledged Malbranque rejection is a blow, think we need a creative midfielder and a striker and fast!
  21. I went for the giddy heights of 9th, still if we play fair we might get in Europe that way!!!
  22. I think the Distin bid is real and think we have made an approach for Phillips in the past but Huckerby and Boa Morte are merely names thrown in IMHO. Read Bobby Robson's piece in4-4-2 this month and says that he used to give his chairman a list of many players from top target to bottom and used to just work through them. Presumably this is what Ellis is doing for/with DOL at the moment. Wonder who the next name after Distin is?!
  23. He's hardly made himself a very attractive proposition has he? 82 year old senile control freak who rarely spends money on a side which has serious potential if the correct investment is made and falls out with most board members and team managers. I can see clubs around the globe shouting sign him up as we speak! :?
  24. Don't think we'd sell too many shirts with Bent printed on the back though
