  1. Me and Ian, I like that idea assuming that it's a once again sprightly Ian Wright and we're allowed to play 12, allowing me to play whilst not hindering the team
  2. With the imminent arrival of our Czech mate, who would you put as your front two? Personally, I'd go for Super Kev and Mee-lan at the moment but if Angel finds his form there could be a right quandary for DOL.
  3. I made the comparison to Deaton, merely because his position at HIGNFY became untenable as he ecame the butt of all the jokes, would a similar thing happen to a referee who had lost the respect of the players?
  4. Of course not... not every week anyway!
  5. The Sun is reporting that referee Graham Poll is being probed by the FA (oo-er!) as he "got drunk, climbed onto some cars and then vomited in the foyer of a hotel." Classy. This beggars the question, is it refreshing that a referee shows a human side, or does it undermine his authority on the footy park (ala Angus Deaton on HIGNFY) and set a bad example to the kids who avidly follow referees...(!) I for one say good on him for showing a human side. We've all done it (maybe not the car-climbing bit!) and as long as he doesn't make a regular occurance of it or start doing it mid-season, he's entitled to let his hair down (what little he has).
  6. Woah, hold on, do I see some optimism in the air...?
  7. :-) I think he'd be a good signing, but I don't think he'd come and I don't think he'd be a popular one. Having said that, the poll seems to show how desperate us Villa fans are for a new signing, even if he is a Blue nose who incites violence!
  8. Here's a question for you, with Villa now down to two strikers and a youth player, and Andy Johnson, a proven Premiereship marksman, seemingly available, who would like to see AJ at VP next season? There's the obvious Blue nose history to take into account and many of his goals last season did come from the penalty spot, but there's no doubting that he is a young man with a lot of talent... Thoughts? I for one, would not say no.
  9. I think Baros has fulfilled his potential a lot more than Vassell. I still think Vassell could be a better player, but he's such a confidence player that I can't see it ever happening (much like Heskey). Therefore, I vote Baros
  10. Now that would be very nice, although unrealistic methinks. I agree with Hobbo as well, I'm optimistic that's there's still a good signing or two on the horizon
  11. I think he's got a good shout for forcing his way into first choice. I don't know how him and Angel would combine together but I think it'd be a close call between him/Angel/Phillips. Maybe we shoule go for 4-3-3 ;-)
  12. I think that would set us up very nicely for the new season
  13. Looks like we may be beaten to it by the Hammers.... http://tinyurl.com/cnl8s
