  1. Also there are bubbles everywhere waiting to implode. The serious money already knows this: Westminster sell off Appologies for it being a Daily Wail article, but if anything that makes it more relevant coming from such a bubble-ramping rag. There is no recovery, just more debt.
  2. He was admiring the half-way line nostalgically. remembering the days when he'd attempt to rub it out with his studs.
  3. Match Of The Day dont seem to think so. Not even a goal of the month contender I hear Sherwood's on the panel.
  4. It's becoming increasingly clear that Gil is a thorn in Sherwood's side. Judging by what Tim and Wilkins (allegedly) have said about what they most admire/dislike in a player, Gil goes against everything they hold dear. I get the impression that they want Gil to fail spectacularly and the team to succeed just to prove themselves right. Only the two seem mutually incompatible at present.
  5. If that's the case then I'm worried. What would the 'crab' know about attacking play anyway?
  6. I kinda see what you mean, but then our CB pairing would be Clark and Lescott, and that scares the crap out of me To be fair to Clark, a partnership of Lescott and Pique would still scare the crap out of me.
  7. If Tim is going to be consistent then this is it..... bottom three so no room for creativity. It's 'roll you sleeves up time' and on with the cloggers.
  8. Never lost faith in him. Deserves more that the relentless shell shock he suffers year in, year out. We're lucky to have the poor bugger.
  9. Worst start to a season since 1986. We got relegated that season. Yep everything's fine This isn't 1986. Have you never heard of Heraclitus? Was he the captain of the 1982 Brazil WC team?
  10. Our front line is woefully poor. I can see another 'Bent' type signing in January - it may be our only hope. Then Gabby will get a twelve year extension to his contract, but only on the premise that he moves to a central playmaker role.
  11. That's an insult to maths teachers;-) You don't need to know what you're doing to head a bank, you just need to be a sociopath.
  12. Whatever floats your boat. I prefer a bit of girl on girl myself.
  13. Said from the off, from his debut against Liverpool, that he was utter shed. Terrible footballer that fits into the 'athlete' bracket.
  14. I've defended him too, but not yesterday for the third. That was just terrible keeping (not to mention he could have done some real damage). He needs to get his mojo back soon as I believe he's much better than that. Next week would be good.
  15. When we slip into the relegation zone will he become an unused 'luxury' player again while we rely on cloggers to get us out?
  16. You do know that money is pretty much in the imagination of bankers and given licence to do so by governments. Money on that scale is not like running your house. The sooner people wise up to this fact the better. Debt is meaningless in a global context I agree that money is an illusion. Debt is real. Otherwise there'd be no austerity and we'd just keep racking up debt with no concern, dropping cash from helicopters. Debt is not meaningless - it's borrowing from the future and 40 years of neo liberal theft has led to this point - near unserviceable debt. When it becomes unserviceable the whole thing will crack... much much worse than 2008. Actually, I must add that there are some parallels with household debt. People buy houses snd take on huge mortgages in the belief that the price will only ever go up and that the ponzi scheme/bubble will never end. ALL bubble and ponzi schemes end. Tulip bubble, South-sea bubble, dotcom bubble etc. The one that will bring the UK to its knees will be the housing bubble bursting now the Chinese can;t afford prime London any longer.
  17. That\s patently stupid then. UK debt - 1.5 trillion pounds. USA debt = 'I'll leave you with a little link: US Debt Clock This will never be paid back. There's no more tricks left. This is going Weimar Republic. 'The enormous wealth in Europe' LOL.
  18. So you don't think Europe is a basket case then? There's nothing abstract about it - debt is money. The more people debt slaves you have, the more money you can borrow into existence. There's a debt limit and it's around the corner. Greece was just a warning. I don't know if it is strictly a doomsday scenario anyway - the banking system as it stands will collapse, it's inevitable - that could be a good thing to reset the whole system and start again, or it could go all Mad Max. But things will have to change. Anyway, my original point was that got buried is that immigration is a symptom, not the cause.
  19. Oh, and please inform me what was fixed in 2008 that didn't involve printing extortionate amounts of money out of thin air.. I'm all ears
  20. 2008 phoned, it wants it's doomsday scenario back. Population of EU currently stands at approx 510 million, europe as a whole at 750 million. Frankly, if 1 million, 2 million, 3 million refugees and migrants on foot can take that down, they deserve it. What has that got to do with my post?
  21. The real shit will hit the fan when Europe's money finally runs out (not long now). No one will want to come here then anyway. It smells a bit like the last days of Rome where sportsmen were paid astronomical fees and chefs became celebs as all the Goths, Vandals etc. descended - just to keep the plebs entertained. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaius_Appuleius_Diocles
  22. A bit before my time but even I know there's some great players in there. Little and Graydon in the same lineup - magic. My old man was furious when that squad was broken up. But then look what happened.
  23. they were right to destroy Saddam (imo) ... but it should have been done first time around had Blair not done it on the basis of a lie he wouldn't be so reviled but America wanted it's revenge for 11/9 so badly they attacked the wrong country and Blair (and Bush) should have to pay the consequences for that Saddam was a CIA puppet who got too big for his boots. Yeah, but that's going WAY back ... to the early 1960s, right? Control was gone by the late 80s. And in that earlier era, MI6's hands in the mideast were pretty filthy, too -- Operation Boot, anyone? I didn't say we didn'i. By the way. anyone wanting to know what the hell is going on in the middle east search 'Bitter Lake' on youtube.
