Completely agree with this. Livid that we're going to lose him for nothing. Fab is our best player but he's only really been decent for 18 months out of the 5/6 years he's been here. Can't blame him for wanting to leave based on our current plight, but bearing in mind we've stuck by him through his injuries, surely he could've signed a short term deal with a modest release clause so we didn't lose him for nothing? In summary, we paid £6m for him and at least the same again in wages, for 18 months or so and get nothing back. Shocking on every level

1) I thought we started well today but after the goal we slipped into our usual habit of sitting back and letting the other team back into it. You could argue that this is because we're low on confidence, but as it happens fairly regularly and I can only assume this is what the manager asks of the players 2) take on board Benteke hitting the post but how many times did we create quality chances? Most of our chances never seem clear cut, almost as if the ball bounces favourably. You could argue it's down to quality but if we miss a decent chance like Benteke's I usually think "That's our best chance gone" it's defeatist but fairly realistic on what we've put up with for too long. Which brings me onto..... 3) He's got to go for me. I'm not going to reel off the records he's set and the cup exits we've had as everyone knows. Quite simply Paul Lambert is not good enough to manage in the Premier League. The stats back this up and I have had enough of his excuses and too many dire performances to mention. Time is up Paul. Time for you to pick yourself up and go again. Just not with Aston Villa

Very rational. But I believe you make your own luck. It's not about being unlucky, it's about being on a horrendous run that shows no sign of ending. Yes we made chances, but 1 on target against a god awful Spurs team. The anger for wanting Lambert out is not about today, it's about consistently poor performances

Because he's ended up at a club with an owner who has made a mess of things and can't sell the mess he's created. Any other club and I think lambert would be gone by now. Sorry but Randy has nothing to do with the tactics and how we play. Yes he's had restraints since he got here but things have GOT to change.

Lamberts record P95 W30 D20 L45 Win ratio = 31.6% Now bear in mind the stick Pardew is getting. His record is P171 W63 D40 L68 Win ratio = 36.8% Stats don't lie. We have an awful manager who has failed to address our chronic lack of ball retention which means we create hardly any chances. Let's not forget we beat the top teams last year and struggled against the lower teams. Thoroughly depressed that we're stuck with an incompetent manager for foreseeable future

Played in one of the Football Aid matches in 2009. Was lucky enough to win an online competition and was managed by Chris Nicholl and had Mark Kinsella on my team. A very surreal experience walking out but when the game starts you just focus on that. It's every once in a while that you look around and think "f'in hell!!! I'm playing at Villa Park!"

Whilst losing today wasn't completely unexpected I'm just so frustrated by the way we play. It's so dull and predictable. 1 effort on target again and only 4 goals all season is pitiful. Yes we've had some awful fixtures but lets not forget, we got wins v Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea last year. It's the lesser teams we struggle against. There's been no development in style of play and certainly no improvement in goals scored. Benteke coming back will obviously improve things but he can't do it on his own. In all honesty, can anyone say we've been good to watch so far this season?

Whilst losing at home to Arsenal won't define out season, the worryingly familiar signs of woeful home form were in evidence today. Conceding way too much possession. Creating very little. Paul, you've got a spanking new contract and you've preceded over two of our worst seasons in recent time. Give us something to shout about at home instead of the negative football that is generally served up.

Pretty disappointing. I take on board the the bug going round played a big part in the defeat but watching us today was dreadful bar the first half hour. Second half Arsenal averaged 80% possession which is unforgivable. I don't mind us playing defensively away at places like Anfield but we need to find a way to create more at home. We just don't get enough people forward. It's so predictable and negative.

Anyone seen any decent bundles with FIFA 15 yet? Tempted to buy the Destiny bundle for £329.99 from Tesco and trade it in when FIFA is out next Friday
