  1. Sometimes when they burn someone over at the crem, you will see what looks like snow coming out of the chimney.
  2. I'm a pale skinned dark haired orphan child, one of a number of strikingly similar children, all raised in South America. My time will come.
  3. yeah, right.... let's tell everyone what's available for less than half the price I know I could sell it on for.... It's not going to make me rich, I'm trading hi-fi bits n bobs in the £20 to £99 bracket, but it is turning in to a hobby/distraction that funds itself, buy it on e-bay, sell it on gumtree or trade it on forums, repeat.
  4. Wishing away the count down hours for that thing on e-bay that nobody else on the planet appears to have spotted. I've been the only bidder all week, there are 8 hours left. I'll only buy it at this silly price.....so all common sense tells me I'll get done over in the last minute, but right now it's tantalisingly close. (it's not Ruge's hair straighteners)
  5. Let's not rush in to all this happy clappy group hug life changing schizz. I've got a tenner down at Paddy Power that says he won't see out the year. But seriously, just get a hobby that doesn't destroy you. Travel, or carpentry, cycling, coffee. Anything. We need dicks like you to average out us boring dicks. But be a dick with a cycling compulsion or something. Something where you get to attend your grand children's first wedding or court appearance.
  6. Losin' Boy, doesn't that take just under 2 seconds to clearly be a **** huuuuuuuge tune. Imagine coming up with music that hits it's mark within 2 seconds.
  7. well this thread got dirty quickly.... anyway, latest reports on Joe Ledley's leg fracture suggest he could be ok for the later rounds.., #prayforJoe
  8. Well that nice quiet man Iain Duncan Shit assures us that if the EU is being promoted by big business and the establishment, then it must be bad for the little guy. He was urging us all in a radio interview yesterday that if we are fed up with having our working hours limited and fed up with restrictive job protection legislation and fed up with human rights, fed up with work related accidents being reduced by poxy enhanced h&s legislation, we should vote leave, and put our faith in the little guy's friend, the tory party. Sad thing is, there will be people that will nod sagely, ignore all the historical evidence, and agree with him. There are arguments to vote leave. The tory party being the ultimate guardian and protector of the poor and vulnerable is not really one.
  9. Bicycles built based on people's attempts to draw bike's from memory...
  10. Hmmm, I don't doubt he'll do his best, I don't doubt he's embarrassed. Unfortunately, I don't see any of that helping him over the slight problem of being monumentally incompetent. He will over think this sale, take too long, worry, consult, reconsider, consult someone else, delay.....and then do something so left field stupid none of us had it as an option.
  11. It's a subtle blend of joyful optimism and bullying by the oppressors. Looks very likely Joe Ledley is out of the Euro's. Butchered by Stoke.
  12. . just burped much much louder than anticipated...
  13. I guess these would be the same sort of people that don't understand what CASH ONLY / CARDS ONLY / TAG ONLY written in red illuminated flashing letters a meter tall above various toll booths means.... Personally, if I see a toll booth with a sign above it that says TAG ONLY, what I tend to guess, is you need a tag to get through that one. I tend not to think, hmmm 'tag only' I shall queue here and attempt to pay with varied coin of the realm.

    Berlin

OK, we must have had several Berlin threads I'm sure. But this one was kinda sorta for historical walks and middle aged stuff. My recent visit I got very very lucky with the weather. I stayed over at the very west end of the Tiergarten, minutes from the zoo, and walked through the park every day on my way in to town. so, interesting things to see on a walking tour: first advice - pre book a visit to the Bundestag Dome & Restaurant cuts out hours of waiting for clearance and gives a great view out.
  15. @mjmooney @lapal_fan We should really shuffle over to the travel section. We went to Berlin a few months ago. I got lucky with some work coinciding with a half term. Mike, there's plenty of 'old' stuff to see, from the rejuvenated Brandenberg gate, the walk through the Tiergarten, the Prussian Victory Column, passing plenty of statues and monuments is fascinating. There's plenty of history, much of it with shrapnel damage. The Bismark Memorial is incredible and strangely chilling, it includes Mother Germany with her foot firmly on the head of a defeated lion. No idea what that symbolised! Then there's the preserved Russian Memorial in it's 50's communist splendour. There's even a tacky remnant of checkpoint Charlie which is a bit touristy, but walk two blocks and it's all there to see. The Berlin Wall and the various museums I had no itention of visiting, I'm so glad I did, just amazing. The zoo is spectacular. Stunning city and super friendly.
  16. Chilcot Inquiry report to be published 6th July.
  17. So that'll be no kids in restaurants, at the cinema or in the garden then. Bunch of pensioner ukippers on 'ere.
  18. Cameron's speech today: PM Speech 09.05.2016 There's plenty more of the same if you want to read it. Given his words, surely he should resign, now? Either he doesn't believe his own speech, he's lying. Or, he has recklessly endangered the future of this country. He's an idiot. A dangerous idiot. Shirley?
  19. Nostalgia's not what it used to be back in my day.
  20. Imagine if you didn't report her and she went on to crush the bike of teacher, over here on a cycling holiday, from their native France. Would you want that on your conscience?
