  1. Bloke starts harmless banter and gets overly offended by the harmless banter he gets as a response - would never have predicted it, mate.
  2. weird, most years you'd keep this pathetic shit talking for the rugby thread this about me **** your mum?
  3. Surely of all the flags, England fans could adapt theirs with same writing but upside down at the bottom.
  4. getting a bit out of hand here stay safe boys
  5. In the supermarket earlier and Lee Selby (IBF featherweight world champion) was in there. Holding a baby with one arm and trying to buy nappies with the other. It just looked like some staged advert for 'modern man' or some aspirational role model thing. But yeah, good for people to see. Perhaps I'm thinking too hard.
  6. At every gig I went to over the weekend the band asked the audience leave or remain. Total audience at all three events would have been circa 700 / 800 and it was pretty much 100% remain. But there would have been both peer pressure, and, as Mooney mentioned, it's a fairly self selecting sample when you're at a folk gig raising awareness of the plight of the Guatemalan organic water vole or whatever. I've driven through Hampshire today, it is voting to leave. Or at least, every retired accountant with a pretty house in a pretty village is voting leave. Now, who's more likely to actually give a folk and vote on the day, retired folks, or trendy young folk folks.....
  7. Donald Tusk (we all know him, he's the European Council President) apparently believes that a leave vote could see the end of Western Political Civilisation. BBC: Tusk
  8. Reminds me of a tactical error on my part that turned out OK. Never give an ultimatum, I know that. But one year negotiations weren't going as I wanted and I went nuclear and said this is the figure or I leave. I was told to leave the building, get a coffee for 20 minutes and come back when I'd cooled. Came back and was told they'd discussed it and no, there was no more money. I stood up, said thanks for considering it but that I now had no option but to resign or I'd look like a dick and never get another pay rise. This was greeted with the HR woman announcing, 'sit back down you prawn, you got your money.' Jeeeeeez, no idea how I was intending to pitch that one once I got home.
  9. agree entirely I just get pissed off really quickly with people, amateur experts, telling us all the why's and how's and claiming to have some sort of inside line on who was thinking what and whether he was trained or helped or funded and what his strategy was. All that schizz might turn out to be true. In the meantime, every whack job from Trump down is trying to look like an expert and push their angle and gain their edge. Which I find a little annoying when 49 or 50 friends and family of someone somewhere have just been murdered for no 'real' reason.
  10. Yep, the same FBI that have recordings of phonecalls giving allegiance to the top dog in ISIS and allegiance to al Nusra. The guy was a violent nutjob, clearly. Divorced due to mental problems and domestic violence according to reports from his ex wife. So, I'm not convinced yet that he knew what he was fighting for. Yet some here appear to already 'know'. I'll wait a day or three. To be clear, this isn't an excuse for anything the vile scumbag has done. Just trying to slowdown the rush to get this on any particular agenda beyond a terrible massacre of innocents in a gay club.
  11. The trick for the employer is to convince every employee to keep quiet about salary as they have been given a special deal.
  12. I have a close personal friend that was born a sinner. Obvious to the rest of us from Junior school. He finally told us he was a sinner in his early twenties. He's a pillock, his nickname was sweetie since comp.. Currently sinning in Australia, the jammy bastard.
  13. I'm impressed with the number of people here that know this guy's motives and thinking. Can I just remind you to let the FBI know what you know, they appear to be a bit slower than VT and are still putting this thing together.
  14. in defence of the English, they are absolutely not reliable don't mention it, I'm here to help!
  15. It's my birthday weekender. I've been to 3 gigs in 3 days. Watched some football yesterday. Bought this 1970's radio: Just put a massive pork roast in the oven (!). Red Arrows are due to fly over my garden in about an hour's time (no, really). I've just about got the shakes under control now, I think I had a bad bag of nuts up the club yesterday....
  16. Dim Hal Dim Hwyl First ever goal direct from a free kick by any British team in the Euros. Winning goal scored by player with no club. First full cap for the goalkeeper.
  17. Sorry, when did the USA, Canada, India, Bangladesh, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Nigeria join the EU?
  18. Looks like it's folksy americana night then. I'm off to a local folk club run in the upstairs room of the old Labour Club.
  19. the guys have arrived safely and are enjoying some cafe culture
