  1. That's what can happen when you keep the ball.
  2. Tell Gold he can shove Parker up his A.....
  3. Petrov!!! I take it all back... Well most of it.
  4. Nice try, I wonder if Gabby was watching Young's run.
  5. I also get to watch it live early morning on Fox Soccer world over here in sunny Texas.
  6. Read the Hammer got injured playing for Germany tonight. He captained, set-up first goal then scored second in 2-2 with Denmark. He then took a knock and went off. Hopefully he won't come back and bite us Saturday as players have done in the past.
  7. In the Premiership I am sure to get some abuse but Bruce or McCleish wouldn't be bad shouts. Championship Grayson, Clough or Lambert. Abroad Hiddink or Sven. A few unemployed managers around but would rather have someone who was in work but as long as he Villa to the end it good enoguh for me.
  8. I agree but feel the same about Jo also. Runs for cover...
  9. Tell MON he has my support in blooding the youngsters this season. We have seen the reserves win their league for the last two season but fans still clamour for 20+ million signings. If we aren't going to give these youngsters a chance what is the point in having the structure we have in place? You hear a lot of well he isn't good enough before he has been given a chance to prove himself in the first team. I have played and coached long enough to know you won't know someones character and ability until they face their hardest task. With yourself coming from a military background i am sure you understand this. I am not one for instant success but yes I want Villa to win also. But Villa will hopefully be around when I am gone and this more important than anything. I pray my children, and their children, etc will support the Villa for who they are and not who plays for them and not of success. So give the kids a chance and like them fight it out and prove they can succeed where others have not been given the chance. Oh and tell MON to play Bannan, I believe he could be a star no matter how small he is. :winkold:
  10. Congrats on tying MA to a long term contract. A very important part of your 1st eleven.
  11. Maybea= a bid from Liverpool? Is Gabby injured?
  12. :bonk: PFA Young Player of the Year + Present England international = Player who couldn't get into his present clubs team last year; and is further down the pecking order this year? Someone has been on the happy pills again.
  13. A player who was bought for 12 million and has since become an regular England international. An international who Capello himself said England would likely build around. Add to that he won the young player of the year last year and you reckon his value has gone up 3 million? C'mon now who is being silly? I agree he isn't worth 30 million but I certainly feel in the present market his value is at aroun 22-24 million for anyone but Man City. I have got anything against City ;they have got lucky so all the best to them. But to think one of the most marketable young English players has risen just 3 million in two years with his success is more than joke.
  14. I wonder how the poll would be now if it was started today.
  15. Totally agree and thats how the Villa management feel ! Well tell them to cut their loses and sell him. Let just move on.
  16. They did pretty well at start of last season before Sidwell was dropped to accomadate Milner in the middle and downing out wide.
  17. Comfortable win for Villa.
  18. Sidwell and Heskey to shine
  19. I have bolded the part where you are making assumptions. He was needed for fresh legs to bring on in the second half when the likes Petrov fitness wasn't up to it. If you couldn't see we needed fresh legs in the second half then well... And that's what he did in the 13 matches he was a substitute in the latter 2/3 of the season. But very rarely came on. 13 matches on the pitch as a substitute with his fresh legs are not rarely, IMHO. It almost looks like you think he did not play those 13 matches he was on the pitch as a sub. Hmm, after thinking, I tend to agree. He was quite invisible when his mission was to come on the pitch with fresh legs.... You obviously pick the game you want to mention him in. He played a part in around 6 of the last 12 games. 55 minutes as sub and 90 minutes in the ill-fated Chelsea game. Fact is we did better in the first 13 games when he started than we did in the last 12 when he was sub. In those first 13 games when he played we beat Chelsea and Liverpool. When he was sub we couldn't beat the likes of Wolves and Stoke. Fact. So who knows if we had won more in the last 12 games if had started but what we do know is what is stated above. And those facts are certainly in his favour.

First 13: 7 wins , 3 ties, 3 losses Last 12 4 wins, 4 ties, 4 losses Faded, have a good day.
