Was a clear handball but it would have flattered to decieve. It is men against boys and sadly we are getting a lesson. We have nothing going foward with Carew and Pires and the ball keeps coming back. Arsenals passing and pressing is way better than ours and it could get really bad if changes aren't made at half time. If Young is dictating he plays on the left it is wrong; if GH is playing him on the left it his wrong. Downing has played his best on the left this season and he is being restricted on the right. Clark and Bannan, I feel sorry for them both. Neither are having a good game and are getting shown up big time. Defense has been pretty bad but Young is having his worst game of the season. Always love watching the Villa so bring on the second half. Let's hope Arsenal self-destruct like last week but I doubt it.

If we stick with the same pattern of play in putting the ball out wide and crossing into the box we need to play more with Gabby up front. Most teams will have at least three defenders in the box and we are usually out numbered. Either play more down the middle or get Carew up front with Gabby. I would leave Fonz to make an impact in the second half. Friedel Young Cuellar/Clark Dunne Warnock Young Bannan Clark/Hogg Downing Gabby Carew And stop giving away stupid freekeicks.

Warnock - 6 - Gave away too many freekicks in the first half which didn't need to happen. Did okay in the second hald but he didn't seem in it after the 2nd goal Dunne - 7.5 - Gave his all and not much he could about the goals; made a couple of important blocks. Clark - 7.5 - Again like Dunne didn't do much wrong and tried to get the passing going from the back. Hogg - 7 - Did a solid job for his 2nd full game; did the basics very well. Bannan - 8.5 - My MOTM, did what he could to create options for the team; he was tigerish in defense and usually the first back when play broke down. Young - 8 - Worked hard and never gave up to the end; unlucky at the start of the second half. Sadly, no one really to aim at in the box when he had the ball. Downing - 7.5 - Same as Young just couldn't find the final pass bit wasteful at times. Ireland - 6.5 - Not sure where he fits in at the Villa. You could see he was trying to pick the pass but the majority didn't work; his workrate is pretty bad. Gabby - 6.5 - Back to soon? Maybe it would have been wise to start Fonz and bring him on for last 20 minutes. No much to offer today. Subs Pires - Nothing special to mention. Herd - Same as above. Fonz - His movement was good in the box; he n early got on the end of a couple of good passes. Blackburn - Have to give them credit they are solid at the back; not much gets through them. Trying to get the balls out wide and cross them in fell perfectly for them. We should have played more through the center and kept it on the floor. They deserved the win because they got the ball into the right areas with player attacking the ball. Sadly we didn't do that enough.

Bannan releases the ball so quickly into good positions; very refreshing. Ireland getting into good positions but need to grow a pair; not sure how many tackles he pulled out of.

We can't afford to give any silly free-kicks away around the edge of the box; thats the only real benefit of Albrighton not playing. This game needs to be played on the ground and plenty of movement for us to take it. We have the ability let's use it.

I believe he got suspended for returning home to Brazil without permission. Even though he shouldn't have done it maybe understandable with the way things have been going for him here.

Liked him doing what? Hasn't he only scored one goal since being at Citeh? You can't like him for his goal scoring surely? No more on his career before he got to Man City and the ability that he has on the ball, his movement and a gut feeling . I feel given a decent run in a team he will do well.
