Bale is a very good player one on one; he gets this freedom in CL as most teams don't double up in defense. In the PL this is common practice and I feel the reason he doesn't get as much success. Didn't see the game but going into it most people thought we would get hammered or be lucky to get a draw. We go to a place that is difficult to get a result and are a minute away from taking three points. It's not always going to be pretty but i think it was a dam good result; a lot of knee jerked reaction due to conceding in the 95th minute. I'm disappointed like everyone else but lets give the boys credit for where they went and what they did. Yes we beat them twice last season but we both have different managers and we have a much depleted squad. By the sound of it we had chances to win and probably should have done. We can all point out things that would have made things better but games over and 1-1. Proud of the youngsters and the team for doing a decent job. Up the Villa; bring on Blackpool. And Spurs lost. Barry Bannan in the Emile Heskey role? I would say it possibly could be a defender playing as a winger to allow Ashley to have the free role. Maybe Young or Lichaj playing right wing. It could even be Delfonso playing there; be nice to see him get a game.

Not playing a forward - It seems like we had plans to until Carew pulled out through sickness. GH wanted to rest Heskey so he could possibly have Delfonso a game and I certainly would have liked to see that. But as some have said it seems that the youngster may not be in the managers good books. He felt Young would be a better bet; guess he is the manager for a reason. 2. Worried that we might get beat by SHA - Each game is different and you even if we play as bad as some people say we did it doesn't mean we will lose. You only have to looked at the results of the games the night before and I bet the SHA fans are saying the same thing. On the flip side you can dominate games and still lose. To be fair, we don't have a striker playing tonight. Don't need a striker to score goals, just ask Lampard or Gerrard, just good technique, composure and correct angle to approach the ball. Knowing some about goalkeepers movement will help. I feel that was one of the reason Shearer was so good because he was a keeper up to the age of 12-13.

I have to agree; poor positioning by Collins but Warnock was also at fault for alllowing the crosses it. He doesn't close down quick enough. Slightly harsh. 90% of the time Lennon likes to jink on his right foot. Putting him on his left foot 25 yards from goal isn't a bad thing, it was a good ball. Both were very good balls but Collin's didn't do much on either. By pulling to the back post and letting Young try and deal with it he left a whole in the middle. Dunn tried vainly on both occasions to clear up the knock down but he can't be everywhere. He should have held his ground and let Young challenge and he would of been there for the knock down. Crouch did all he could with the ball; there was no way he was going to bring them down or even get an header on goal. Collins read it wrong in my opinion.

I believe Ireland would have replaced Petrov by Christmas if not sooner. Dropping Albrighton will limit our options where Ireland I believe in time will do more than Petrov is offeriing.
