  1. Jesus, that KHV guy is dissing Wilshere? Who is clearly a **** brilliant player. He's impressed me massively.
  2. But he's been not very good in every single game he's played in except for one. He is not the answer.
  3. I'm sorry but you're making statements with very negative blinkers on. "Players at this club don't get treated right?" Pffft. There's only two people you could say that about and that's Ireland and Bent - there is a whole squad of players who are getting treated right (and Sissoko is better than ALL of them). Ireland makes his own life hard with his ineffective performances and as for Bent, these things happen. If Sissoko had come to Villa he would have played 90 minutes in all of our games - - Lambert would be rubbing his hands with joy as he is on another level to the players we have. People knew that before he moved. There wouldn't be a risk of relegation. Just consider the wages Newcastle have put him on to see that everyone knew already that he was a different kettle of fish entirely, Newcastle knew what they were buying into and it is beyond us at the moment. Blah blah blah. Not until we have got rid of the likes of Dunne, Given, Ireland and Bent - and even then it looks right now like the football money madness has passed us by. And do you know what, personally, I almost don't even care about that. Football is sick because of the stupid money going around, the best part of the game died with that, establishing just a few elite teams who are going to win 95% of everything going. Basically, you just cannot compare Sylla to Sissoko in any way. There are plenty of players Lambert signed who went straight into the team - Vlaar, KEA, Lowton, Benteke, Guzan, why make stupid statements that Sissoko would have barely played for us? Don't expect too much from Sylla, at least then you might be surprised but definitely don't expect him to be replacing Delph any time soon.
  4. And yet Newcastle buy Sissoko, start him straight away and he wins 2 games on the bounce for them almost single handedly. I think most of us know exactly how much of an impact this player is going to have on the Premier League. Sissoko is a great signing for Newcastle, it's in the Michu ballpark of signings (except if you consider wages). There are hundreds of signings that don't work out on a Sissoko or Michu level. Some signings are for the future. I'm only saying this because you sound like you're whining. If Sylla makes even the smallest bit of difference and even if that difference is just giving Delph the kick up the backside that seems to have happened since Sylla arrived, then that is something at least. Clubs make signings for the future all the time. He has only been here for three games anyway, sheesh. But yeah, I don't think Sylla's going to be on the level of Sissoko. Maybe he'll surprise us.
  5. Why are people seeming really stupid this evening? I was going to leave it at that...no I will, actually.
  6. You are right 100%, you are definitely not a soccer analyst
  7. Arguably Lambert did a better job with Norwich. Just because he came to Villa, who have been in a mess for years, and hasn't waved the wand and made us great again immediately doesn't make him a bad manager. IMO, it makes him a manager with a good track record currently in a tough job with very little money to spend - at a club who have very little choice than to get behind him because we are not going to get anyone better. Whatever you expected this season was never going to happen.
  8. you can tell how good he is by the fact he is still behind Delphi and westwood in the pecking order who are both sub standard midfielders. what's the point in signing people who can't make and impact immediately? Its not as if we have time on our side is it? I don't want to freak you out but Villa are still going to be playing football next year, and the year after, etc.
  9. The stats are wrong I fear. He was good against Sunderland, maybe, but that's about it. It might be the case of us not having the players to being the best out of him but, I'm not convinced.
  10. In fact, the only thing wrong with your theory is that it is insane.
  11. Well we are going to have to disagree. Ron Vlaars performances this season have been no better/worse than that of Collins and Cuellar in recent seasons. My memory isnt lost. I recognise that Cuellar and Collins are both poor players. However, on the basis of this season - so is Vlaar and on some occasions this season even Ron Vlaar agrees with me. Were in the relegation zone Pelle. Now Im not for 1 moment suggesting its all Ron Vlaars fault. However, if you scroll through the forum: Apparently......... Guzans class Lowtons been a good buy Bakers going to be class Vlaars been a good buy Westwood is going to be class Delph and Westwood or forming a decent partnership Delphs been playing class Gabbys immense on his day Weimanns been quality Benteke's a worldy who we could get 25m plus for. Now, again, Im not suggesting that all those statements are wrong and Im not suggesting the whole forum agrees with them all. What I am pointing out is that that list is pretty much the spine of our squad. So, if the majority of those player evaluations were true we wouldnt be 18th in the league having won 5 games all season. Some players are vastly overated on this site - Imo, Vlaar is one of them. I think you hit the nail on the head when you highlight ten players and say they are the spine of our squad!! We have a woeful squad. Observe how we have looked so much better recently now that everyone is fit (until Vlaar got injured), which was very much not the case for much of this season, particularly the awful period over christmas. We were especially bad when N'Zogbia, Gabby and Vlaar were all out. The reason we are 18th, IMO, is down to the fact that we haven't got anyone other than those players you've mentioned to fill in when they have been injured, or to provide decent competition for places, so when they have been injured we replaced them with people who aren't good enough. Also, consider how Delph and N'Zogbia have only just started performing recently and how you wouldn't want to rely on Baker and Clark at centre back all season due to their inexperience. I really believe the players you mentioned are decent, we just don't have enough of them.
  12. Instead of saying Delfouneso is better here, youve actually put Weimann is no better than Delfouneso. That implies to me that they are on a par, maybe with Delfounseo edging it (to give you the benefit of the doubt). With that in mind, have you come to your senses that Delfouneso is shit? No still believe he can make it here, won't be as good as drogba though, for me he is better than weimann who I don't rate You think he won't be as good as Drogba?
  13. "With 11 games to go the signs are not good" - on the other hand, he's only been here for three games. "Like he did with Benteke" - Benteke was already a Belgium international and he is a **** beast, the exception rather than the rule of buying young potential from abroad. There's no signs here, there are no conspiracies. Everything is normal. Nobody knows how this is goign to turn out. Lets hope for the best.
  14. In no way have Westwood and Lowton been very good! They have played a lot and held their place in the team, but that says very little about both of them to be honest. We are under the relegation line after all, and we have players who have contributed a lot more. Westwood will need years to establish himself in the top flight as a good player and Lowton is just very, very ordinary compared to most of the other full-backs in the league. Both would be good backup players for us, but the problem is of course that they are certainties in the line-up which is why we are where we are. - Benteke has been great, no doubt about that. 9/10 - Holman is not good enough for the Premier League, was a McLeish-signing also. There is a reason why running around is his best asset. 3/10 - Guzan wouldn't get into any other teams either, but he is solid enough and most of the GK's in this league are at a very high level. Basically a MON-signing. 7/10 - Lowton is stable, but not very commanding or well, any good. Would have been a great backup for a much better player. 5/10 - Westwood can be a good player, in a few years, but now he just fails to command games from the middle. 5/10 - Bowery is not good enough either, yet. We aren't struggling in attack in terms of options, but he should have been loaned out instead. 2/10 - Bennett is struggling immensely with this level, always out of position and fumbling the ball away as often as he can. 2/10, very disappointing season for me. - El Ahmadi came with promise but failed to deliver in his first season. Holds no real assets in his game and struggles to hold the ball. 3/10 - Then there is Sylla and Dawkins, cannot possibly give them a rating thus far but none of them seem like players Lambert would start with when everyone's fit. - Vlaar is a good player, and this season was unlucky for him with injuries. Tactically above everyone else back there and a natural leader. Sure he has been rounded a few times this season, but when on top of things he is very tidy and important. 7/10 and exactly the kind of player we should be looking for. If only we had a few Vlaar's instead of the Bennett's we would have been safe and sound. Benteke and Vlaar came from outside of the English system and that is where we should buy players with a limited budget. The French, Dutch, Belgian and German leagues have numerous players with more potential than the plucked English market. If a great player is to be found here, odds are he is already scouted and weighed by one of the better clubs. All in all, we have new players that ideally shouldn't play for our team in this league yet, perhaps some of them will make it in a few years but Lambert failed miserably when he believed his wicked managerial skills could turn them into top-10 players in a few weeks. Benteke has been excellent at times and he has made a name for himself, but don't forget he was a 7.5M player of 21 years of age, so something had to be expected of him. When he took over our squad and got some money to spend, well, let's just say the entire blame is on him if we relegate this season. It was going to be tough, but a tough manager would have used our strengths and the supplemented with the right players - he gave us players who would always struggle. And for what good? Benteke will leave for sure, Weimann could stay in the Prem and V I'm not going to read this.
  15. Aussie footballer of the year aswell. So must have a lot more in his locker. Just think that our lack of ambition effects players motivation, and that effects performance. Could say the same with a lot of our squad. I think this is a what came first statement. Perhaps its as simple as having shit players affects performance Seriously, I'm confused at the long way round in logic in your post ps my feeling is Holman isn't actually that good. He gets paid to play football, fss. It's a GAME - survival or not. Sometimes my logic confuses me too, but yes.....he is pretty average. Haha, fair play.
  16. Sissoko!!? Sylla has a long way to go to prove himself at that kind of level. I hope he's good but I'm not holding out any hope until I see it. I rate Lambert in the transfer market too so I hope this is another good buy but there is no way someone of his experience can be just thrown in. To be fair I think he is being eased in so far. We've had tough games and it's not the time to rely on Sylla. He's providing more competition etc. and that's positive. Delph has looked much better recently and is, with Westwood, starting to look decent. They are clearly the first choice in midfield for now and with the options we have I don't think that's going to change much this season.

  18. What would be the point if he is not as good as the players in our current starting 11? I think AndyBM might actually be doing that troll thing because what he said here and on the Vlaar page doesn't make much reasonable sense. There are a million reasons why you wouldn't put in an untested player from ligue 2 into the starting eleven in his first three games and nobody should need them explained.
  19. I've heard the world is what you make it but yours is weird and doesn't make sense. I don't know why I only highlighted the end bit - pretend I highlighted it all.
  20. He is our best centre back, I'm convinced of that. We've looked better with him in the team since he's been back. The first goal on Saturday was avoidable and came from his position. He's good with possession too and we need his experience.
  21. I'm not sure I've seen him create one great chance. I'm not joking either. Macallister said it best when he said Ireland was like an empty crisp bag floating round the pitch.
  22. Who were the wide players we had available though? N'Zogbia and Gabby were injured for quite some time. I think people forget things too easy. I also think the 352 was intended to give width, but it didn't work. That was indeed a rubbish formation.
