  1. Supposedly Cabaye and Demba Ba too.
  2. Not to heap too much pressure on his shoulders, but he might be what is needed to help Bannan, Delph, and maybe even Ireland fulfil their potential.
  3. Apparently he's not an ambi-turner. He can't turn left. It's why he was the back up.
  4. I guess the plan was to hold out for Sissoko for as long as possible. This guy's the back up. Or the back up back up.
  5. Needs game time to be ready for the new season and is three yellows away from a suspension. Other than that we're good to go.
  6. About half an hour ago it said 'Aston Villa are a stupid club' as the last line.
  7. Think 2-3 signings could have much a psychological shot in the arm for the whole squad as a talent/physical shot in the arm. Fingers crossed a couple more.
  8. Maybe we should go for Ekobo his team mate too. Best midfield partnership in L2 last season apparently.
  9. On the other hand Ireland had shown he could cut in the PL and was still a waste of money. In terms of exposing the club to risk Coutinho is a bigger liability than Ireland was.
  10. Sound remarkably similar when you think about it. Claridge will whinge for 90 mins here though.
  11. Not sure where to post this but thought it was quite interesting from none other than Houllier: http://goo.gl/olcWv None of those new players speak any english and Pardew admitted that he speaks very little french.
  12. It's 100% a psychological thing. It doesn't matter how much they practice and who it is that coaches them. It's a vicious circle but the only way for the team to improve defending set pieces is by not conceding. A clean sheet after they've cleared a good few corners and free kicks out of the area will do them the world of good. And they'll build on that to do the same in the next game. Then they'll gradually become calmer, more confident, and better able to concentrate on winning it. They're totally shitting themselves when they try and defend corners and this affects their concentration.
  13. Dishing it out for Morocco on ITV4 at moment. Needless to say they're being beaten by cape Verdi
  14. Mexes is a total disaster - always injured too. Would take DeSciglio though.
  15. Strange that he struggles to defend so much. Drogba was one of Chelsea's best defenders for set pieces. Perhaps it's because the whole team are basically a bag of nerves when we have to defend set pieces.
  16. To get to the summer in the premier league. If we do we can start to progress. With this manager and with this owner.
  17. Some people on this site need a bit of a good look at themselves.
  18. Just been called up to the RoI squad - young and highly rated.
  19. Shouldn't have got into the situation to begin with. Deffo improving slowly I think. Hopefully getting stung tonight will sharpen him up further.

    PROTEST?

Who exactly do you think will give a shit? Lerner won't even notice as he'll be in America. Lambert is not the type to give the slightest inkling about it, and the media will just laugh at you.
  21. Of course it's psychological. There's no talent required to clear a corner. They can practice it all they like and zonal mark or man mark. The only way to stop conceding from corners is to stop conceding from corners. Given doesn't help mind.
  22. Sacking Lambert will just postpone the end of this misery for another year as another incumbent arrives and realises how ingrained failure has become to Villa - and inevitably fails.
