  1. I like the player but can't argue with the fact he killed the last two games.
  2. No points cos the ref is shite no points cos the ref is shite.....
  3. If we lose this we need to cripple that ref in a case of mistaken identity.
  4. Agreed, Gabby for Andi and hit the cockney clearings in the woods on the break. Come on Villa. You don't deserve this shite refereeing!
  5. The lad stuck his head in his face! If one goes they should both go.
  6. So you think that Burnley have flair players and, maybe West Ham and Crystal palace too. But, you don't think that Spurs or Southampton have any - each to their own I guess! Are you the backwards man? Can you walk backwards twice as fast as I can? You You know what, I wrote that at work where I was stressed out and taking a break. I completely got your post the wrong way around. Sorry mate! Obviously just read it and realise how stupid I made myself look!

  8. Spurs (H) - L West Ham (A) - L Southampton (H) - D Burnley (A) - D Crystal Palace (A) - D 3 points for me.
  9. But I think Mantis' point is, seeing as he seems to be the one fighting fire here, that he doesn't think anyone that we could currently attract would do a better job. Now I'm not sure I agree with that (although there's obviously a big variable in who we could attract), but people seem to be twisting his words to interpret him as saying "Nobody could do a better job than Lambert" or, as you put it "This team wouldn't be better off managed by anybody else" That's clearly not what he is saying. SO that restaurant analogy earlier didn't work either. None of my post was aimed directly at anything Mantis has said. I was basically saying that we all know that a new owner will see a bigger improvement in us, most likely because we will have more money to buy players with, and also, because as OBE said in his later post, owners are the most important out of them and the manager. Player power can remove managers but it cannot remove owners, or it certainly has never seemed that way previously! My points were that a new owner is needed and it goes without saying that it needs to happen before we properly progress. But, in the meantime, whilst Randy finds a price that someone actually wants to pay, we have to make do with what we have. The only difference that can really be made is the manager. We can either stick with what we have and hope for some kind of miraculous turnaround, which I think is looking very unlikely, or, we can get someone else in to see if they can get more out of the squad of players that we have. It has nothing to do with money or ownership. Pure and simply, give another guy a go and hope that he gets more from what we have.
  10. Mate, if you think the players would struggle to have any confidence intact after playing the top teams, how much confidence do you think is left after losing 2-0 against the team that's bottom of the league?
  11. I'm going to go with Steve McLaren. Simply because he's got a good record in domestic football, he's English and he's currently managing locally so wouldn't have to move too far, probably. However, whether he would see Villa as a better career move is a different matter altogether. He's got past history at Derby as well and, I guess, will undoubtedly be seeing a promotion to the Premier League with them as a better looking achievement on his CV than just keeping Villa in the Premier League. Obviously, there are lots of other names that could be mentioned but, for me, I wouldn't mind us going for Shteve and seeing what he can do back in the top flight. besides, if he relegated us, nobody would feel bad about giving him lots of stick!
  12. I don't understand the debate about us needing new ownership to improve the club. Surely that goes without saying? The only question that needs to be asked is: Would this Villa team be better off being managed by someone else? For two seasons we've looked horrendous and this recent form shows that this season is looking to be the same old struggle. I think it's time now to let someone else have a go at getting the best out of our squad of players.
  13. Lambert has overseen the breaking of so many of our "bad" records that someone ought to call Guiness Book Of Records and invite them to Villa Park to induct him into their Hall of fame.
  14. Nah, not yet mate. I'd say it'll be around mid April the way we are going. Or, did you mean the management team? If so, I'd say they'll probably be here until we end up in the Ryman Premier.
  15. Maybe that was because the majority of those players came up through the leagues with him and were enjoying the rollercoaster and would bust a gut for him etc. Whereas our lot just seem to be about as one-paced as a 12 year old gelding in a 5 furlong sprint for 3 year old colts!
  16. English Villa fans could say that we've "looked abroad" since 2003 when David O'Leary took over from Graham Taylor. Two Irishmen, one Frenchman and, two Scotsmen and apart from MON - albeit with a £100m war chest - we have done very little. I would like us to try to get Steve McLaren in to have a go. Not saying he's the perfect answer, and I know he would be another choice that would divide opinion but, he's probably as good as we could get right now and he's doing a decent job of it at Derby as well. Saying that, even he might think that his present job holds a better looking future than a job at the Villa!
  17. Keane to fourth official "Are you seriously asking me how much time I would like adding on? I might be fecking tough but I'm not a fecking sadist". Lambo joins in "Go on then, you heard the man! Tell the ref to blow that bloody whistle before ya get a backhander from me, you ginger tw*t!"
  18. Very poor player and needs to be shipped out ASAP.
  19. Thought he played well and was our best player. I'll forgive him his part in their second goal because of the rest of his game.
  20. How bad has it got? Shteve Maclaaren anyone?
  21. Well said! Enough is enough. I've sat on the fence for far too long where Lambert's concerned. I called him out early in his tenure, because he played players so obviously out of position but, tonight was it me. He's got to go.
