Financially we feel in the shite but, I don't feel gloomy about the club right now. I know the summer signings aren't everyone's cup of tea but for me they'll do just fine. They're more experienced and have played at a high level too. That in itself gives me more reason to be cheerful.

Sanchez needs to play in that DM role because it is something we've wanted for a long time now. I'd stick with that 4-3-3 formation which allows us to have 4 attacking players. Grealish is questionable for many because of his age/inexperience but, he could be exchanged with Bacuna, Richardson, Westwood, Cole, Gardner and any of the other 3 in the above line-up. Okore is waiting int he wings to cover one of the central back two. We have Richardson to cover left back and Bacuna or Lowton ready to cover right back. To be fair, we are in a much better place as a squad than we have been for some time.

From reading the Senderos thread it dawned on me how much experience this summer signings have. Richardson for Man United, Senderos for Arsenal, Cissokho for Lyon, Valencia & Liverpool, Cole for Liverpool & Chelsea and Sanchez just came back after playing in all of Colombia's World Cup matches. I think these signings will see us alright this season.

Would love to hear either sung in honour of this guy. If I was playing pro footie and the crowd chanted either of them for me, I think I'd probably kill someone on on the pitch!

I get what you're saying AM82. I have mixed feelings about today. I think we'll probably lose but I think the defence will be better than when we played them last and also, the new players will have shaken the place up a bit and maybe that will extract a bit more from those who tend to under-perform. I would take a draw today and then "go again" with a change or two for the next game, which I think we will win.

No need to search for another striker. SSN reported that Aston Villa were interested in signing Elche STRIKER Carlos Sanchez. Guess this guy is what you would call a utility player then.

I really hope we sign Sanchez because it's been a long time since we had a decent player whose normal role is defensive midfield. His signing could be the making of a top 10 side for us because we would see a better Delph and our defenders might actually get a breather.

It shouldn't matter if he can't work. Him just being in the country gives us more bite in midfield than we have currently!

Paul, If you read this, please take note. You have a young star in the making within your remit, named Jack Grealish. Firstly, you need to sort out a new contract, preferably with a buy-out clause that isn't a pittance and detracts any possible suitors. Secondly, play the lad. He's untapped talent who shined above everyone else on the football pitch yesterday. Of course, you need to get our other players to pass to him which, if the last few seasons is anything to go by, won't be easy. But, this lad could be the difference for us so PLEASE use him and don't let him waste away and become disinterested by keeping him on the bench or rotting in the U21 side. Does anyone know how Richardson has been performing in our other pre-season games? I thought he was yesterday against Parma. Time for him to get used to his teammates of course but he didn't look an improvement on anyone else we already had at the club IMO.

I see your point about the fact we'll have more players available but the likes of Cole, Richardson, N'Zogbia do not enthuse me at all. Grealish and Gardner would make me happier though.

A not very good Parma side. I wouldn't have much trust in that back four in any Premier League fixture.
