  1. I grew up in Dove Dale Road and used to spend most days playing football in Witton Lakes Park or the rec between Witton Lodge Road and Perry Common Road. When I was a kid I got run over by a car on Perry Commom Road lol.
  2. Summerville Boy is without doubt the class act in his race. But, the drop in trip and top weight are putting me off. And old favourite of mine goes in that race - Drop The Anchor. He's well down the weights these days and it looks the right trip for him so I've had a go at 28/1.
  3. Paul Nicholls had a great day at Wincanton yesterday. He rules that track so it wasn't too surprising. Today, Nicholls sends a few runners to Sandown. He has the favourite in the last race, which is a 2m bumper. Interestingly though, he has sent just one runner to Ffos Las for their final race, which is a 2m bumper. The horse is owned by JP McManus and a debutant - Jalila Moriviere - and currently at 6/4 with Bet365. It's French bred so maybe he sent it there knowing it will get softer ground, which French bred horses seem to relish? It's also Lorcan Williams' only ride on the card. Also at Ffos Las, Donald McCain has sent just one runner on a 7.5 hour, 280 mile, round trip. It's ridden by Theo Gillard - his only ride on the card. The horse's name - Gold Emery. I'm all over that at 6/1.
  4. In races over longer distances, so 2m 6f+ over the jumps, on soft worse ground, I like to look for horses with lower weight who front run. I just think they're harder to reel in.
  5. I was born in Aston, grew up in Perry Common, live in Shard End now. Brummie all the way.
  6. You make a very good point, mate. I was watching us against AZ in the week and thinking about the way in which we build our play from the back with its slow and deliberate pace. Us dictating the pace of games pretty much means we exert ourselves as much as we want, pretty much. I think this philosophy will help us keep players energy levels at a good enough level throughout the season.
  7. Did I hear right that Spurs only have 4 players on the pitch who started the game? Two sent off and five subs? That was brave if so. What if they got an injury?
  8. Surely VAR are going to rule it out lol
  9. Each time I look at Cuccerella I see someone who looks like he's wearing a blindfold, pulled the pin out of a grenade and can't tell if he's holding the grenade or the pin.
  10. Mudryk is absolutely appalling. He's got more pace than anyone on that pitch, they give him from the halfway line to run into and he's offside lol. Chelsea are soooo abysmal. Imagine watching this! Spurs are playing unbelievably dangerously on the halfway line against pace such as Sterling and Mudryk. It's a ridiculous tactic that's working because of how bad Chelsea are.
  11. I can see the Spurs goalie screwing up big time in this game. They're playing such a high line that he's acting as sweeper. At some point he's either going to miss the ball and they'll have a free net to aim at or, he's going to take someone out and see red as well.
  12. Spurs are in meltdown mode. One centre back with a hamstring injury, one with a 2-3 game ban and, a full back on a ban. Hopefully, Chrksea will go goal crazy.
  13. Fantastic. I love seeing him looking happy because there's no doubting he's better when he's confident and smiling.
  14. He's good. No doubt about it, for me. He's got some kind of aura - exuberance - about him. To go with that he's a physically strong guy who tracks back and does the harder side of the game. A year from now he'll be a beast!
  15. When we play Man City at home it will be winner goes top. Who'll bet against us?
  16. Give him a lifelong contract. He's a genuine man. A man of honour. If he thinks at any time he's not worth it he will go. Trust him and Unai will make us world champions.
  17. Need to go to Southampton and get Walker-Peters. He's terrified defenders in the PL and would be great cover for Matty Cash.
  18. Tomas, he's not a pedigree centre forward. That isn't where he came from. Smith turned him into one and now he's looking more and more suitable to the role. He's not a natural goalscorer. However, he creates chances out of nothing. He's perfect to where we are and, if ever the day comes, when we get to the very top level, he will either be moved wide or play off a natural centre forward.
  19. He needs to play further forward and not be covering back around have final third. John did well to keep his head together after being booked first half nad looking constantly at their players.
  20. It wasn't a lot of game time, but I thought that was his least effective game for us so far. Yes, he had a game-winning chance but, other than that, he looked a bit off it.
  21. He looked caught out for their goal but he absolutely wasn't. Watch it again and see how he was tempted to dive in but held back and decided to run with his man. Yes, he got done but, he gave the defence time to gain cover. Unfortunately, Carlos got caught out and allowed Chan to beat him to the ball and Konsa was our last line of defence. So glad he got our goal shortly afterwards.
  22. Yeah, I'd buy Neto to play wide right. Or, could we set our sights higher?
  23. I thought he did well. He rattled by far their most dangerous player and got away with it. Wasn't as dangerous going forward but he took care of business at the back.
  24. It was a certain penalty and if refs don't give them of course players will go down easily.
