  1. Dwight leaving was devastating! The day the fairtale ended and i woke up to what football is truly about!
  2. A bit harsh John! If MON wants him Sunderland will be at a massive advantage, we all know the wages that will be offered to him up there.
  3. Great write up as usual. It’s lovely to get a positive perspective after a loss where it’s easy to look for the opposite. I too love the idea our new manager is trying to install, although I have to disagree to the extents to which it showed yesterday. Holman simply had a poor game. Wanted too much time on the ball and lacked any awareness of his teammates. However a debut away at Big Sam team is not the best place to shine and I’m sure he will get better. Nzog started well but completely disappeared later in the game. Again I think he will thrive given time with the new regime. Finally the defence looked a bit jumpy when it came to passing the ball. We suffered the same thing under Houllier in that the defenders tended to get hemmed back when under any pressure, preferring the simple ball to a defensive team mate or back to keeper rather than looking for a midfielder, which would progress to an attacking move and get the ball out of the danger area safely. These points are to be expected with a shift in emphasis and will obviously be addressed as the season beds itself in. Overall though I agree, far more positives than negatives!
  4. I like the idea of Carroll, hes far and away the best striking option realistically available to us IMO! We have a strong history with target men strikers, and there is a void to fill since Big John left. I think he could work really well with Bent too, unlike some of the others linked.
  5. apres in solihull were a shoe in for games last season but they are not showing today game. Anyone got an idea of anywhere close?
  6. Dont get me wrong, Id need a nappy if I so much as thought he would be coming here! Its just that we have seen this before with the Scousers. Theres a few more derisory bids to go yet, just to keep his appitite wetted. They will be a better proposition for him, so whilst this goes on we will have no chance!
  7. I was thinking the same thing. However he will end up at the Scousers no matter what tripe they spin!
  8. What, this cant be right...Liverpool trying to unsettle someone elses player! Didnt these guys used to do things morally, spirit of Shankly and all that horse shite? I suppose its easy to do from a position of power, welcome down here with the rest of the filth Scousers!
  9. We simply would not be able to keep them happy, even if we could persuade Defoe on those terms! Surely its better to bring in someone to play alongside Bent!
  10. There really is a derth of strikers out there if Defoe and Jones are the best options!
  11. Cant believe this love in with Defoe! It would be a nightmare partnership with Bent, they are essentially the same player.
  12. I voted for the Sabath ....but id like 'Wake up' back!
  13. Great news, we are obviously taking this quite seriously now. Hopefully a far cry from previous years where I cant imagine it was the most bustling of work placements!

Completely agree, cant see how any judge could give it to him, nevermind two of them. Leg kicks in the first round could have won him the fight but Edgar nulified that from the second round on. It was so close but if anything he won each of the next four rounds IMO.

    Do you read?

Fancied an easy read so re-read Mark Haddons 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' Forgot how good of a book that was! ..very enlightening!
  16. Very true! Amelie Barberella Hit Girl (Kick Ass) Eli (Let the right one in) Catwoman (Batman returns)
  17. Sounds like you need to steer clear of Kubrick. :winkold: ...or Terry Gilliam!
  18. He wont be worth 18 million when the inland revenue come a callin!
  19. We got it down to 50%.. With the possibility of Warnock and Dunne going that percentage will get even lower, but that doesn't mean we can now start being reckless. The fact is the Worlds best players command wages of over £100k, we couldn't afford that in the MON days and we can't afford it now.. ...You also have to consider just how appetising a proposition we are ATM to the kind of players we want.
  20. Baker... We will be lucky to stay up just with those options.
  21. What time does this kick off?
