  1. fair play to them if they managed to sign VDV before the deadline. thats a hell of a grab.
  2. get it sung in pubs before away games, it'll spread quickly. thats how it gets going.
  3. Hi General When Randy and yourself first joined the club - there was a meeting with Supporters Groups in the North Stand before a midweek home game against Man City (IIRC O'Neill's first home defeat and a wonder goal by Distin...) You stood there and told us Villa WILL win the Champions League during your time here. In fact, guaranteed it. So, in terms of this, do you feel we're a lot closer than then? I appreciate obviously there are outside factors that were unforseeable (Man City mega rich, ONeill walking out, etc) - but in light of these has this guarantee changed? I personally dont care, I'd love it, but I'd still support the Villa if we were in the depths of the Conference - however I'm interested if your belief or viewpoint has changed at all over the past few years, especially as you're obviously a lot wiser now to the English game than I think you may have been beforehand (I mean as a sport, not as a business...)
  4. Second this - is it true we're holding on until after Sept 1 to announce it, so that the transfer window is closed? If so, has Randy stopped taking lessons from Doug how to run this club because that would be very much the Doug Ellis move...
  5. Guitly, im double hard from up there But agree with everything else you put, I've been to loads of away games and loads of home games including blues away/home, stoke and all the places you might expect "trouble". I've not once got into any kind of violent trouble and I expect it to stay that way as you really have to go looking for it. Yes - you actually need to be actively involved in it now, as its so sparse. Even the 'high profile' incidents of recent years are things that are made out to be far bigger than they really are, usually by people trying to talk it up over teh net. All in all, its pretty much dead, and has been for quite some time.
  6. Is that directed at me? I may have come across a bit ranty, i'm just a bit pissed off at it. And the abysmal officiating. villa fans wont retaliate. most of the home crowd will be kids with parents and groups of teenagers enjoying their last week off school. however much you might want to think otherwise - there is very little hooligan element in top flight english football anymore. a few people will shout something from the safety of the upper holte and give a few V signs but all in all it'll pass without trouble. some people on here seem to think that we have some sort of hooligan element to our support, quite amusing to be honest.
  7. you jokin right , have you read some of the articles , one chap has sent a fritz face and suggested to cut it out and where to the next game , havew you heard of human rights ? He imprison his own daughters for how ever long , they had not even seen sun light and there will be fans in the stadium subject to that , This is not a song about an arsenal player who has broke his leg bloody hell not a paper mask to a football game? oh god help us all.
  8. tbf, Bellamy has said plenty of times during his career that he would like to play for Cardiff one day. It's his home town club, isn't it? Afaik he still lives there. He does yes, I have to drive past his mansion every day on my route home to my 3 bedroom terraced house. But yeah, I can slag him off on the interweb to even it all up
  9. Well, Gareth Bale up to his old tricks again. 'Injured' yesterday. Cock.
  10. Now that is a scary thought. I'll fly Bob Bradley over immediately. I wouldnt delay, the better option of all 3 would be bob bradleys wife.
  11. General. Bring in David Moyes. That is all. If it ends up being Bob Bradley, David Jones, Alan Curbishley - we're up shit creek and it will paint Randy et al as just new Doug Ellis'. Let me just sign off with that. I trust you will make the right call - but the only one that will make the English football setup stand and take notice will be to march to Everton and take the best **** manager in the country and bring him here. Whatever it takes, you have to get him.
  12. For **** sake are we all still winding up this poor word removed?
  13. My options: Labour Conservative Lib Dem UKIP BNP Not even a Plaid option. Lib Dem it shall be, unfortunately.
  14. Do I take it there's a slight change of heart from when this was posted? Yes, they've had their debt problems cleared. Joe Ledley has committed to the club, and they're playing well. Three big things to have changed.
  15. Id rather City won this - reason being - we can compete with Spurs financially next year if they're in Europa quite comfortably. Man City, regardless, we can't, Therefore, if Spurs get CL, we're destined for a battle for 6th with Liverpool and Everton. Although a battle for 5th with Spurs and those two isn't exactly appealing either, its better than the other option (marginally).
  16. I cant see Leicester beating Cardiff over two legs.
  17. Cardiff - beating Blackpool in the final.
  18. Its not hard to devise some software to generate fixtures and put in the various permeatations (eg Villa/Blues not in same city same day, unless playing eachother of course!) I'd reckon they run off a few fixture lists that meet Police requirements, then sit down with Sky and ESPN to confirm which one they want to take.
  19. Was that the one where he was down on the half way line, rolling around wanting us to put the ball out, then when we play on leapt up and sprinted to try and win the ball back? Absolutely pathetic. Not sure who it was that was down, seem to remember it being over near the doug-outs. To be fair actually the player laying down signalled he was ok.
  20. Why? Not disagreeing, Im just not aware of too many disruptions! And you could argue that transfers between teams in the same division should be stopped. Its simple Does Joe Harts loan agreement allow him to re - join Manchester City under such circumstances? If Yes: Then fine If no: Then no The FA need to grow a pair of balls and practice the rules they set out, whichever team is involved. The biggest issue with inter-divisional loans is that bigger clubs can then get massive squads of top class players and keep them happy simply by loaning them out. The loaning club will usually have to pick up the wages bill and a fee, and they have no ownership on the player. Ultimately then the huge clubs then have masses of talent at their disposal that other clubs cant compete with. You shouldnt be allowed to do it - not in the same division.
  21. Which would be the funniest thing to happen of them all.
  22. Now I know why you also said Kevin Kilbane was a good player.
