  1. Do you even know what's gone on before then? Nope, didn't think so. That's the thing though mate, that Redshite game was the first time in ages he's been involved in anything. Just makes me laugh how people judge on the limited "highlights" and think he's like that. I admit when people are dirty, like I've admitted Cahill is our dirtiest player. Seems that people who see limited footage are obviously more aware than people who have seen them in person over 50 times. He is a dirty **** - nothing you can say will change it! Retaliating - even more of a dirty **** than if he was doing it first up. Good player, but one day someones going to line him up and finish him off.
  2. someone will finish him for it - simple as that. theres always a bigger, nastier **** out there and someone will have his name over the next few years if he keeps carrying on throwing his elbows and trying to hurt players for fouling him. its not the sunday league ffs.

  4. probably because: a) They dont have a TV camera following them They're robbing your **** house fella.
  5. so your admitting your a one man team then? The only thing that will change how Spurs play is Crouch being out of the team. Then they'll have to stop lumping it forward to him as he peels off to the full back.
  6. Not Kyle Naughton, the former Sheff Utd player? Presumably this is the son of Ken McNaughton, who the Villa commercial department mistakenly thought was a member of our title winning team of 81? Or maybe you are the Villa commercial department? :winkold: Yes.
  7. So history and things that happened decades ago don't count when talking about trophies but they do count when talking about some mythical style of play. Ok. What? I said trophies that were won decades ago have no bearing on how good a team is now. And then on an unrelated note, I explained the origins of the term "the Spurs way" to a person that seemed to not know where the term came from. What's wrong with that? The Spurs way is to piss money up the wall on names and not build a side capable of really winning anything? References of recent times: Gio Dos Santos Carlo Cudicini Alan Hutton Gareth Bale Kyle McNaughton Jonathan Woodgate etc etc etc How much have you pissed away on those **** losers only to realise you're actually worse off than the sides who've bought non household names but players who get results, aka the Richard Dunne's of this world. Who are you going to sign in the summer? Probably some over hyped, over priced, south american or baltic wonderkid. Who the press will have us believe could only have been conceived by joining the sperm of Pele and Maradona, genetically creating the ultimate player. He will then start the first 5-6 games for you, you'll get over-run in these games. May even win a couple but you'll be worse off than the team who sign some kid from Ipswich to do the same role. A few of you will come on here pointing out various stats that mean **** all (short passes, long passes...) fyi - 4 short passes around the back and then a hoof every single time means a 20% long ball rate by your stats - but every attack launched by a long ball means a 100% long ball team! All in all, you'll be the same, flattering to decieve, going nowhere side who will never match what we've had, and in a few years, wont even match what we are. One of our clubs is moving forward, the other employs Harry Redknapp, who's record of building clubs is the same as Bin Laden's is of loving the West. it just doesnt exist. now do us a favour, hang about and contribute, or **** off to COYS and carry on your self believing wankfest, you CAAAAAANNNNTTTTT.
  8. You could add to it further by suggesting that theyre not the only 2 duplicate tracks on his ipod. therefore odds are increased.
  9. Course it doesn't mean anything, Aaron Lennon's faster. Yeah but Lennons got more than pace, hes the best winger in the league, bar none. I'm quite suprised you're not aware of this.
  10. Chelsea spent that money and they were the only ones spending that kind of cash. They also started from a much better place than we are. We're improving as a side, we're going forward - can't see what the issue is.
  11. Lets not remember that only 4 years ago we were writing off fixtures against the top 5 as no-hope.
  12. My god they were shit last night - they only have the one way of playing - hoof to Crouch and build up from the knockdown. If in games like last night he is completely nullified and taken out of the game - Spurs' game plan falls apart, and they have no way whatsoever of changing it. In theory, its perfect - I mean, Crouch is 6'8 or whatever and he should win the vast majority of knock downs, and if they have players like Kranjaer (sp!), Modric, Gudjohnson(Keane in years gone by), Defoe, etc looking to pick up scraps and build pressure in the opposition's defensive third, then its likely to yield results.... But when Crouch isnt performing, they lack the ability to go from this hoof it up from right back to striker (peeled off to the fullback so everyone knows where that knockdown is going.....) to a passing side - which is why they'll end up with **** all, in 7th place (a good finish for a club like Spurs mind) and 'Arry telling everyone how he should be managing England at this world cup.
  13. Yeah, but FC United of Manchester werent there, so it doesnt count does it.
  14. Ronaldo could defend mind you - certainly tracked back and put himself about if he needed it. Unfortunately, GlastonSpur clearly believes that 'best at spurs' = 'best in league' No doubt, defoe is the best finisher in the league, king and woodgate the best centre halves... so on...
  15. I didn't say he was slow. I said he wasn't quick enough (and lacked sufficient abilty to beat players) to make it as an especially effective winger. His being 100m schools champion means little in this respect. Speed in terms of being a winger is all about acceleration over much shorter distances, hitting top speed quickly, reaction time, anticipation and very often close ball control at top speed. Besides, I doubt that Lennon even entered the schools 100m championships. You mention acceleration - if you want to win a 100m race, your top speed is important but your acceleration is more so.
  16. I believe I said the best right winger in the Prem (or if I didn't that's what I meant since he is mainly right-footed even if he sometimes switches to the left). The evidence comes mainly from just seeing him play in comparison to others. Defences are more scared of him down the right than any other player, because no-one else can go past defenders as easily as he does and no-one panics defences as much he does. If you look at opposition message boards just before they play Spurs, usually the main worry they have is Lennon, or else relief if he is not fit to play. His combination of blinding pace, devasting acceleration, change of direction on a sixpence, trickery and close ball-control at speed makes him mostly unstoppable except by conceding a corner (if the defender manages to get that close to him) or fouling (which of course comes at the expense of free-kicks in usually dangerous areas). According to ESPN's stats, he has been fouled 46 times in 20 appearances, whilst committing just 6 fouls himself. His crossing ability has improved a lot (10 assists this season, in just 19 games started and 1 sub appearance) and he also does his fair share of tracking back and defensive duties. He also rarely loses the ball or gives it away from a bad pass. I don't see any right winger who is as good in the Prem, far less better. No you didnt say right winger, you said winger. I quoted you in my sig but it got too long when I was accumalating ridiculous spurs fans comments, so mods here sliced it up - thats a direct quote of what you said. Also rarely gives the ball away? Are you taking the piss?
  17. Ok, your point of Lennon being the best winger in the league, bar none - can you back this up with evidence and/or reasoned argument?
  18. I'm about - i only access this in the week. We were the worse of 2 poor sides - England knew Wilkinson would get them a decent points haul without them causing Wales serious trouble and they were proven right. AWJ - what he was doing, no idea. Hope he reacts well though on the weekend. There were a few questionable calls that went Englands way (off the ball hit for Care's try, disallowed Tom James try...) but on the whole, England deserved their win as they were the better of two poor sides. Having said that, nobody really looked any good on the weekend - perhaps its dusting off the cobwebs and so on and hopefully it'll step up in quality over the coming weeks, or you'll hear the laughter from the 4 southern nations loud and clear.
  19. i agree - jenkins being out is a far bigger blow for wales' chances than flutey missing is for Englands...
  20. Wales team announced Cooper is in :( Powell is in at 6 :( It seems roles-reversed for the Twickenham game - Wales' tight 5 are better than the English, but the English backline looks pretty dangerous should they get enough ball.... Looking forward. I think this tournament's going to be won by England - no slam, though.
