  1. I was a bit gutted we weren’t sniffing around him last year before he went to Italy. Looked tidy on the ball, great combative midfielder and also good in the air too. Ship. Sailed I guess
  2. Who’s doing a Euro2020/Copa America double whammy this weekend?

    Ezri Konsa

I think Terry is a big fan of Ezri going by his Insta comments, which is a huge statement of how good he is now and also his future potential. £12 million was it from Brentford….bargain!
  4. And Cash, Guilbert and Kesler all in the back 5 but not right backs!
  5. I think now with all the data available there’s a lot of push for players who are clearly and identifiably talented. However what we don’t see and our recruitment team (who I think have been outstanding to date) seem to be all over, is analysing these players character and mentality. There were rumours last year we were in for Eze but it was also talked about that he wanted to stay down South. It may very well be the same with Olise. I read somewhere though that he’s a bit of a Billy Big Bollox so might be why we passed, if indeed interested at all. Our apple cart is harmonious and galvanised at present and I don’t think the powers that be at Villa will want that jeopardised by any new recruits. I think we put a lot on who our players are as people, not just footballers, long may this continue in my eyes.
  6. If you go by some of the media vids they’re best mates, proper bromance.
  7. Not quite sure why that was aimed at me as my post was quoting someone else. Not my cup of tea personally but I could see the attraction if you were that way inclined. He has a cool name as well I guess
  8. Watching the game last night it frustrates me that when Jack came in most of the attacking seemed to come down the right hand side, miles away from Jack. Sterling has had a great tournament but he quite often than not runs into a brick wall, Jack very rarely does this. I think Jack has his fans within the camp, people like Phillips, Saka, Kane and even Mount who actively seek him out with passes. Sterling and others not so much. He will definitely bring something to the final though and I think we’ll need him as the Italians will be hard to break down. On them does anyone else think Insigne is a smaller Italian clone of Grealish?
  9. Already gone to Inter Miami on loan I believe
  10. I think Foden’s an amazing player but best player in the world at 25? I’m not so sure. Players like Mbappe, Harland, Pedri, (especially Pedro) etc might have a word about that.
  11. I think ultimately Southgate’s reign as England manager has been a lucky one. He’s inherited a brilliant attacking squad yet plays ultra defensive most of the time. Another manager would have us tearing teams apart with our attacking flair, dare I say it, even our own manager would be far more expensive with the players at England’s disposal. Our draw for the Euros is another good example of this, our biggest challenge to date has been an underwhelming Germany side, who are not the side they once were. Granted we beat them but during Southgate’s reign we haven’t really ‘bettered’ the better, more established international sides. Don’t get me wrong I’m supportive of England and want us to do well but Southgate has frustrated me more than excited me during his reign and I don’t see that changing moving forward. Also on Grealish, he so had an agenda before, think it’s mellowed a little now but not sure he rates him too highly though. I think he’s an old fashioned manager and likes the graft. He sees Jack as not having that but we all know better Hoping for a winning first international goal for Jack on Sunday though. UTV
  12. One word…..wow New contract there as soon as he lands in Brum, with some soap for his thrash talking mouth too. I have to admit when watching the highlights I removed Mina in my mind and replaced him Fernandes and it was even sweeter.
  13. I think stats wise Guilbert’s forward play is better than Cash, but I think that’s more down to the league he was playing in and also the highlighted bit above. Traore is a liability defensively and that’s why Cash’s attacking stats are so low. I personally think they’re very evenly matched and I also think whoever our RB is Buendia will help a load more than Traore.
  14. Based on stats alone Matty might have a bit of a fight on…
  15. Sarr looks raw to me which is to be expected considering his age. I do like that he has a good shot on him though. Would be good to get someone in that can score a few screamers.
  16. I think we’ll add a AMC and a DM and then look to have two options for each of the three spots, depending on how offensive/defensive we set up. So we’ll have Sanson, McGinn, Chuckwuemeka, Luiz, Nakamba, AMC and DM. Ramsay will go out on loan I would think. I think the DM slot will be new/Nakamba and the AMC new/Chuk. The rest will be picked dependant on form although I see Sanson and McGinn in direct competition. Perhaps the JWP links are the Luiz competition? Chuk covers multiple spots potentially. 7-8 players for 3 spots, I may be completely wrong though.
  17. What do we think he is, an 8, a 10, somewhere in-between? I’d have him alongside someone that can press and nick the ball, perhaps Sanson or McGinn. Samson’s stats are better pressing wise. In the youth side he plays with Raikhy and Lindley lying slightly deeper. I see Raikhy having more similarities to Sanson’s playing style so may be a good way to go
  18. I think we’ll spend more than reported though, especially as we have a real opportunity at the moment, compared to other clubs, to take advantage of the transfer market post Covid. Time will tell though I guess
  19. That’ll be one from France then most probably considering the issues they have. Sarr, Kamara, Caqueret, take your pick. I think the latter two might be in the 15-20m bracket. Mahmoud Dahoud at Dortmund looks tidy, expensive though
  20. I think with his contract situation, English players like Bellingham and another I mentioned in another thread (Madueke at PSV) doing well and playing first team games at 17, 18, 19 he’ll want to be playing in our first team. I get why people say get him out on loan but I see us using him here, something which I think has been promised to him (and JPB) I think he’ll do well too. If we sent him on loan and this is just my opinion, we might not get him to sign a longer contract when he turns 18.
  21. I thought he played a different position to Sancho, AMC I thought, but could be wrong. I think it’s these types of signings we need to be making moving forward, get them before they turn into 80-90m players.
  22. Saw some stuff on Madueke at PSV, only 19 and got some crazy dribbling skills. English too I believe.
  23. Has anyone noticed his number in the Argentina squad? If it’s the same as this season at Villa then that might point to him having a favourite.
