  1. A larger transfer kitty doesn't really catch it though does it, to get into the top four in this league might cost us another £300m. As we are, we're comfortably in the top half and we've every chance of pushing for sixth again. Spending ten million doesn't really change that, twenty million doesn't either. Pushing for the top four has become much more expensive since Randy took over, four years ago you would have thought £30m a year in spending would give you a chance, now it would get you nowhere near. We could go out now and spend £40m and be fifth - and bust. Faced with that, I think we're playing the right game - we're holding and waiting for a weakness or an opportunity. Exactly. One of the reasons why it costs so much. Man City! People need to get a grip and not be such spoilt brats! I know. Such spoilt brats who want to compete with the very best. How dare they. What are they thinking? We'll simply accept mediocrity and finishing 6th-10th and wait for an opportunity. God knows what that opportunity will be, or when it will come. God knows if Randy can even afford to bankroll another spending spree. But Villa fans have been waiting for years anyway. Another few won't hurt. Simple thing is though we don't have that much money so what can we do. I'd love to live the high life like the posh people but i can't afford it so i've got to live within my mean until maybe one day i get a better job and a chance to move up the ladder.
  2. Klinsman is available, i think he would do a better job than most peoplementioned on here. Respected name in the game too.
  3. Well it hasn't worked out for him at Madrid, as has happened with many quality players in the past. He would look for a move to us to play reguarly and prove he has still got the talent, which I'm not doubting, or infact stating I don't want at Villa, but once he plays well for us and the bigger Champions League teams or richer teams (Man City) come sniffing he would be up and off again. In response to where, there are plenty of answers to that question. A move to Italy perhaps? Or Bayern in Germany? 2 leagues he hasn't been to yet. Or maybe even City if they decide they need even more centre midfielders. There are plenty of possibilities for him to use us as a 'stepping stone'. I might add though, as others have stated, I dont have a problem as long as he gives us quality service and effort. Not that all this matters as we won't sign him So lets buy him, get him playing well and sell him for a big profit when one of them does come in for him. We can then reinvest the money in the squad and make ourselves even stronger.
  4. The crazy thing is we actually started off looking really dangerous on the ball and should have been ahead. maybe we are spending all our time on ball work and not on organisation and defending.
  5. Tbh the team selcetion mistakes a i can live with, even though they were poor, its more the lack of reaction after half time that bothered me. Also i thought K MAc was more tatically aware than MON, i hoped he was but it didnt really show today. Didnt help that a lot of senior players didnt play well at all though.
  6. Thing is the whole time Randy has been here there hasn't been any indecision from the board. They have always presented a clear message of where they want the club to be and how they want to do it. Things may have changed a touch with Man City getting all this money but i'm sure thats one of the main things they would have discussed with MON at the start of the summer. Not sure why they would be evasive over transfer funds either, surely they would just say how much he could have. FWIW i agree with Pete.
  7. He was described by Ian Holloway as the most technically gifted player in the squad in Blackpools programme notes for the Wembley play off final. He was probably there best player after Chalrie Adam. Maradona obviously hasn't been bothered to look into it though so he's clearly not good enough for us. That's why we don't him as manager :winkold: Indeed.
  8. 4 months for ligaments is pretty decent though. Obviously i'd rather he didn't have it but its not so bad.

  10. even though he made 22 appearances including 8 starts, which also included the time he was disciplined for unauthorised drinking which for a 19-20 year old isn't bad going in the championship He also broke a toe didn't he? Hollowaty was desparate for him to be fit and really wanted him back this year.
  11. Also i bet most of the Liverpool fans weren't English.
  12. Its early in the comp with no permanent manager and a reserve side out. People probably feared the worst.
  13. Good little player imo. Always rated him, and he probably would have played more if he wasn't so small. As BOF said, he would look better in a more experienced side when he could get on the ball more often.
  14. Oh and its a decent apology from Vienna.
  15. Weren't that quick, a full day. Your on fire this week with the comedy.
  16. Shit to watch to be fair but we got a decent result out of it.
  17. Greay article i agree. What a first game from the boys too.
  18. Shame to hear Delfounesos attitude might hold him back, he's a great talent.
  19. Yeh i had Young so wanted another. Was thinking about Milner but thats no so likely now.
