  1. Not being funny, and i respect your opinion.....but why? The only club job he had at Bayern, was a complete disaster. And as for Germany, its commonly accepted that it was Lowe whom brought those players through. Sorry, but i think Barry Fry has more credentails, but ive had a bad fcuking night, and im not thinking straight :winkold: Klinsmann wasn't that bad at Bayern, he was sacked with five games to go of his first season, being 3 points off of first place and with a record of 16 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses in the Bundesliga. In the Champions League Bayern reached the quarter final, losing to Barcelona who went on to win it. His record in that competition was 6 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss. But if Barry Fry can get us those kind of results then i say lets get him, he would be the cheap option and press conferences might even be funny. Exactly, some people say it was a disaster and everyone believes it. They didn't do that bad at all. I also think it's a bit harsh to give all the credit to Lowe, where is it commonly accepted it was all Lowe's work?
  2. Thing is without consent from the clubs your not suppose to speak to the managers. So agreeing a fee and then speaking to them may well take a bit longer than it seems. Especially when you would want to speak to everyone at least once before you even decide on a reduced list of candidtaes that you would probably want to speak to again. I'm also guessing that maybe they wanted Jol so they had to wait to see if Ajax qualified for the Cl? Thats a guess though.
  3. Easy to find but hard to get as they nearly all have jobs.
  4. I think we tried mate but he said he was happy there. He'd only leave them to come here if he was given the sort of funds MON had here. I don't think we could afford that now. He'd be moving to the same situation here as he already has there atm. It's his team at Everton with arguably a better squad so why would he leave.
  5. I think its because they are aiming high, and a manger of that quality is obviously harder to find. Just my opinion.
  6. Just because you keep saying this, it doesn't mean its true.
  7. Is that in relation to the point i was making? Are you going to tell me that the footy we played at home was thoroughly enjoyable, becuase it wasn't. Even Moyes in his interview hints at what i said (about the money spent anyway). He said he like MON and that we were always competing with them even if the money spent wasn't the same.
  8. I wouldn't even want him back. For the money spent and the players we had, we played some utterly shite football.
  9. I've heard we went for Moyes and he said he was happy at Everton. At least we went for a quality guy, they play quality footy when they get going too. If he had the resources MON had here we'd be a CL team by now too. We'd also have more people at VP as its much more entertaining to watch. Still hope we win on Sunday though.
  10. Not to answer on the General's behalf but Risso went through this some time ago. He could maybe make it clearer but i'm sure it was half his money and half in loans. Not sure if this will stay in but i thought i'd say as the General is away.
  11. Well i guess he can't really now. Maybe he could be 1st team coach although the kids will suffer.
  12. I **** hate Redknapp, be glad to see the back of this window and get a manager now.
  13. I agree. Showed his vision, range of passing and willingness to get forward early on but faded very badly. He'll be good for us. He just needs a little help from his team-mates while he finds his feet. Help he didn't get last night. Agreed, he has a touch of class an he worked hard until he tired.
  14. Based on? What he's said over the past 48 hours. I think we would have had more movememt if both sides werent happy with it.
  15. Can we get ISM back now as he might actually have a role to play at the club.
  16. A larger transfer kitty doesn't really catch it though does it, to get into the top four in this league might cost us another £300m. As we are, we're comfortably in the top half and we've every chance of pushing for sixth again. Spending ten million doesn't really change that, twenty million doesn't either. Pushing for the top four has become much more expensive since Randy took over, four years ago you would have thought £30m a year in spending would give you a chance, now it would get you nowhere near. We could go out now and spend £40m and be fifth - and bust. Faced with that, I think we're playing the right game - we're holding and waiting for a weakness or an opportunity. agreed! quality point. but then that raises the question of if its even possible to get into the top 4 without being mega rich.. and then where does that leave football?? a billionaires hobby.. dull times ahead me thinks This is true, it will be football in general that suffers. The same 4 teams will be far richer and more powerful tan all the others and no one will be able to change it.

One of the reasons why it costs so much. Man City! People need to get a grip and not be such spoilt brats! I know. Such spoilt brats who want to compete with the very best. How dare they. What are they thinking? We'll simply accept mediocrity and finishing 6th-10th and wait for an opportunity. God knows what that opportunity will be, or when it will come. God knows if Randy can even afford to bankroll another spending spree. But Villa fans have been waiting for years anyway. Another few won't hurt. Simple thing is though we don't have that much money so what can we do. I'd love to live the high life like the posh people but i can't afford it so i've got to live within my mean until maybe one day i get a better job and a chance to move up the ladder.
  18. Klinsman is available, i think he would do a better job than most peoplementioned on here. Respected name in the game too.
  19. Well it hasn't worked out for him at Madrid, as has happened with many quality players in the past. He would look for a move to us to play reguarly and prove he has still got the talent, which I'm not doubting, or infact stating I don't want at Villa, but once he plays well for us and the bigger Champions League teams or richer teams (Man City) come sniffing he would be up and off again. In response to where, there are plenty of answers to that question. A move to Italy perhaps? Or Bayern in Germany? 2 leagues he hasn't been to yet. Or maybe even City if they decide they need even more centre midfielders. There are plenty of possibilities for him to use us as a 'stepping stone'. I might add though, as others have stated, I dont have a problem as long as he gives us quality service and effort. Not that all this matters as we won't sign him So lets buy him, get him playing well and sell him for a big profit when one of them does come in for him. We can then reinvest the money in the squad and make ourselves even stronger.
  20. The crazy thing is we actually started off looking really dangerous on the ball and should have been ahead. maybe we are spending all our time on ball work and not on organisation and defending.
