  1. Now you picked me on something before, but that has to be a terrible motto to follow! :winkold:
  2. Maybe we scrapped the long term thing as we couldn't get the man we wanted.
  3. If the stat involving the game Dawson has played is true, then I think a large part of it was because you had Palacios in front of him. I don't really remember any error from Dunne last season. And Dunne and Warnock would start for Tottenham, most definitely. We also played the same players every game so as the season went on players were carrying knocks and generally not covering the same ground to protect the back 4.
  4. Can't really comapre them though, totally different players and positions. I think Delph will play for England in a few years. I like Dawson but i don't think he's good enough for England either.
  5. Thats the point i was making in the new captain thread, he's a top captain around the club. Nice words from Bannan too.
  6. Villa aren't a small club akin to the likes of Blackburn or Wigan - we're easily as big if not bigger than Everton, so why shouldn't we go out and get a manager from that club if we choose to? We have to show some ambition in life. Because he doesn't want to come, ffs. That could well be true, but in reality you're guessing as much as I am. It's not true from what I've been told... However there is the question of morals, principles & deserting one's comrades........... not to mention the current employer's take on matters!! Forget the morals David, just come! forget morals.and jump ship like O'Runner.. Thats footy nowadays mate.

  8. Warnock was signed by Houiller as a kid i think, it was Benitez that let him go, so i dont think he will have any feelings towards him.
  9. Man City didnt try and buy Arteta though did they. They sold Lescott when a big enough bid came in, most clubs would. i still think if Milner had said he wanted to stay and wanted to sign a new contract we wouldnt have sold him for any price.
  10. Thats a decent point you make there.
  11. It wasn't any better when he coached Leeds Indeed, maybe we should be aiming very high for our new 1st team coach.
  12. Christ on a bike, his record at Darlington was terrible! Lets hope he's a better coach than he is manager.
  13. I thought Ireland didnt like Staunton when he was with the national team. Has Stauton done much other coaching since then.
  14. Actually imo some of them really were Salif Diao (SP) Bruno Cheyrou Djimi Traore Titi Camara Eric Meijer Gregory Vignal Igor Biscan all fit the bill as being worse Have to agree there.
  15. i believe the club have previously said that they dont want someone who is already employed at another club, therefore there is no-one they would be interested in who wouldnt be available for an interview. General denied that yesterday, said it was paper talk, even though the paper talk was based on something he said himself... oh... we havent really got a **** clue whats going on have we??? ah well, at least its something to talk about instead of nrc... (especially on a saturday when there is no footy OR cricket on!) Maybe he changed his tune because we are close to getting someone whos already in a job?
  16. Im not sure Sven is up to it anymore, he use to be great but i've not got a good feeling about it now.
  17. Fixed* * everyone else seems to do this. :winkold: Indeed, its the new fashion.
  18. Shame weve lost him and a big shame the Delfouneso seems in danger of heading the way of the Moores.
  19. Curbishly doesn't fit the bill of someone who could be in it for the long term imo. He's never managed a big club so to expect him to take one into the CL (if that is the aim) is a big ask.
  20. He just signed 3 of their best players on new contarcts though, bit harsh on them if he leaves now.
  21. Shame we couldn't have had Ireland and Milner in the same team, that would have made us pretty strong imo.
