  1. There’s more chance of us signing the best player from the planet Mars than Ashley Young.
  2. Anyone who's made their mind up on Sanson already, doesn't know football.
  3. Southgate is a very good politician as a coach. He doesn't upset anyone, especially his employers and is able to put good people around him to cover his deficiencies. It's also why he doesn't take risks and why he won't start Grealish. I think he underrated him and Jack has proven him wrong, but he will never admit it, because politicians don't admit when their wrong.
  4. Your right, on the face of it, it does seem unthinkable. But Southampton are treading water and the question is whether JWP wants to tread water for the rest of his career or make a move in the prime of his career? Go to Villa, possible play in Europe in the next two seasons... Remember a certain Villa captain moving to Middlesbrough FFS, how does that happen, so not the long shot as some may think, if we are indeed interested?
  5. JWP is the better player between him and McGinn. Don’t needs stats to tell me that truth.

Can’t believe this thread is still alive, everything we know says this won’t happen.
  7. We all know how these things work, if JWP has any interest at all, he’ll probably have a discussion with the Villa lads in camp to see what’s going on. If it peaks his interest his next phone call is his agent. Then comes down to money...
  8. I’m a fan of the player and would love to see him at the club. He certainly can play in that double pivot role, but personally believe we need someone a bit more physical and can play that break up role in front of the back 4. What would he cost though? In his prime as a player and Southampton aren’t progressing, he may just be tempted?
  9. You see some of the supporters channels on You tube for these clubs and wonder whether their 12 year olds responding or have the memories of goldfish? For those of us who have been supporting our club for a long time, will know of all the sliding doors moments this club has had, especially over the past 40 years.
  10. Geez you don’t often wake up on a Sunday morning to wonderful news, so welcome Emi. Have to say, thought there was something cheeky about the photo of both our Argentina internationals the other day, maybe our wonderful GK new something...
  11. No, the coaching don’t trust him is a more likely theory.
  12. Is that the stats talking, or your keen eye to spot talent....?
  13. Disappointed for Ollie, but he’ll get other opportunities. But also happy he will get a proper rest. Concerned for next season with all the players after last season and potential injuries without a proper break.
  14. Don't necessarily agree with this, Kane's age per fee works against him. See City going for Mbappe or Haaland for that type of fee and getting a decade from the player like they did with Aguero.
  15. Thanks Nostradamus, your ability to point out the obvious continues to astound.
  16. Yes, yes, scouts to WATCH games, not sit in the dark in front of a computer and tell them who are good players based on statistics with no context. Still you miss the point.
  17. Instead of making assumptions and justifying your position, maybe pay more attention to what people are saying.
  18. That's nice, but I'll continue to rely on my eye, rather than regurgitate stats to justify my opinion. I don't believe he'll improve the squad, believe there are better players for us moving forward, and at the end of the day it is what the club believe.
  19. It's not what the stats say and Traore plays on the right. It's about end product.
  20. Neither are an upgrade on what we currently have, Pereira's stats are very similar to Traore's.
  21. Could be, not the first report that Sterling could be sold, there’s been rumours for a few months. At the end of the day it comes down to a club making a sizeable offer and Jack wanting to make a move. Neither are a sure thing.
  22. Their looking at selling Sterling and possibly Mahrez to fund the move for Grealish. I don't see them going for Kane at his age, when Haaland or Mbappe are also available and will have 10 years ahead of them for the same money.
  23. His window was last summer if the rumors were even true, we've moved on as a club.
  24. If Nakamba was good enough for a starting DM position, he would of started 25-30 games this season. He didn't. The coaching staff don't believe he's good enough as a starting DM, you don't have to be Einstein to work that out.
  25. He's not good enough for a regular starting DM.
