  1. How many of the players were brought by him, and how many by Arnesen and Comoli? He certainly didn’t do so well at Hamburg and Ajax. A very good point. Personally I am not keen on him. Yeah but Houllier would be buying the players as director of football and Jol coaching the team!
  2. Lower league manager with pulling power = Sven? With regards to Poyet and Lambert and co i would think they will be offered jobs in the Premier League next season but probably at a lower level. There will be a few managers moving in the Prem maybe Mcleish to Sunderland, Moyes to whoever, Coyle to whoever and obviously then those that get the boot Bruce we have mentioned Ancelloti at Chelsea (Nuts if happens)Keane at Blackburn Grant at West Ham depends if they are still in the Prem but lots of movement this summer i reckon. As for us well i tend to agree with the above if the guy is fit and healthy he has dealt with alot this season gets a summer to build his vision and bring his players in and hopefully we will get somewhere next season with a fully fit squad all pulling in the same direction. If he wants to take a back seat due to health issues then move him upstairs to help with transfers and so on and be an ear for one of those younger managers that you all mention or his buddy Moyes! In a dream world now he has lost a league game at home and if he fancies a serious challenge and Randy decides to sell the Browns and make Villa the best team in Europe once again give the job to Mourinho!!
  3. I agree about Heskey he did the donkey work that allowed Bent to have his best game for us in my opinion. Bents movement on Saturday was awesome the boy can only get better too with a full pre season and players that learn his runs.
  4. Watched it in the pub first half was very open we had numerous chances thought we could score everytime we went forward but then everytime we gave them a sniff of goal we looked like conceding and criminal defending from a corner for their goal! Second half i have no idea what happened we were absolute pants and i guess you gotta give Holloway credit because we just stopped playing going forward. Our defence improved a little but what pisses me off more than anything else is our corners i dont see the point of hitting it to the back post every time its so **** obvious have abit of variety jesus christ!!!!! We used to be deadly from set pieces now we might aswell not bother we are so bad its untrue! A point was a fair result and NRC MOM for me.
  5. We can beat them but maybe after a replay! You have to beat decent teams to win the cup and if your name is on it then it dont matter who we draw! Come on you Villa Boys.
  6. Obifemi Martins to blues so I have been told could be a shrewd signing for them although it pains me to say it!
  7. West Ham are abject if they dont go down i will be amazed! Fairplay to blues they battered em after half time and as soon as they were winning 3-1 just kept the ball.
  8. West Ham are abject if they dont go down i will be amazed! Fairplay to blues they battered em after half time and as soon as they were winning 3-1 just kept the ball.
  9. West Ham have no strikers for tonight but then blues have strikers that don't score so I can see a 0-0 bore draw. If I had a wish it would be that blues look like they are going to wembley but mess it up in the dying minutes and it's "they break your heart Tom" all over again! In fact penalty shoot out heartache please!!
  10. Any Villa fans in Hong Kong watching the game if so where?? Can't handle it on my own!!
  11. Dunno where to post this but any Villa fans in Phuket up for watching the game if it's actually on over here?? 3am start not the best but I obviously wanna watch this game somehow!
  12. Logically it should be us but then logic dont come into it when Blatter is involved. I personally would not mind Spain/Portugal but i dont see why they need a joint bid, Spain has the stadiums on its own and thats 2 places for host nations. Russia has a better claim than most having not held it before and also for the back handers you know will be paid. So i am going for the Ruskies!
  13. first 15 mins we get in behind them the rest of the game its men against boys. Warnock the cock had no reason to make that challenge, Ireland is so lacking in confidence its untrue one goal and he could be quality but i just dont see where that goal is coming from. Bannan the stand out player for us again sprays the ball around nicely. Keep the ball on the floor and pass around these thugs and we can win the game crosses in the air against Samba is pointless.
  14. Why cant Bale be English this is the highest he can play really which is a shame would love to see him at the World Cup/European Championships!
  15. Mate sent me an email with this link in it from the blues website: Blues' fifth round Carling Cup tie against Aston Villa will take place at St. Andrew's on Wednesday 1 December with a 7.45pm kick off time. The match has also been selected for live transmission by Sky Sports. Both clubs have agreed on the following ticket prices for this fixture:- Season ticket holders (Blues & Villa supporters): £25 adults / £12.50 concessions Non-season ticket holders (before Matchday) : £30 adults / £15 concessions Matchday prices: £35 adults / £20 concessions (both season & non season ticket holders) The above prices are for all areas in the stadium, excluding VIP Hospitality. Ticket selling arrangements will be confirmed on bcfc.com in due course.
  16. Nobody has mentioned much on ticketing on this thread so for your info season ticket holder can buy tickets for £25.00 non season ticket holders £30.00 not sure on the alloction as yet. To those that are worrying about safety i have been enough times and had no bother. Aslong as you dont advertise the fact you are a Villa fan you should be fine. The only place where it becomes obvious is the entrance to the away end. The Police will be out in force and dont be surprised to be kept in for half an hour this might not happen on a night game i guess it depends on the result as such.
  17. I don't wear colours to derby games, never have so I suppose I'm a knob as well :winkold: Jokes aside thats probably all it was but it seemed like there were lots involved, a lot of baiting going on and a lot of police. I'm dreading the LC game...
  18. Well it was confusing when i walked out loads of knobs with no colours on so you could not see who was who but it was all just mouthing off really. One rather large bald guy got carted off by the fuzz again no idea who he followed and then there was another guy that pushed someone to the ground then did a runner into the crowd with the police chasing him. A flare was thrown from the Villa Fans into what must have been the Inbreds but no one was hurt and the flare was soon in the gutter with a mass line of police seperating both sets of fans. We just pushed our way through eventually and walked up Witton Lane towards the Holte.
  19. We were without key players and in the circumstances with what was at stake i think that was a fair result. Lets put it this way they had a full strength team and could still not beat us! With Gabby back it will make a massive difference to us in the cup game.
  20. There is a reason you hate it and it's because we can't win! What I mean is if we do win it's expected but if we lose you never hear the end of it from the inbreds! 5-1 spankings apart of course that was one to go overboard over!! I am nervous for this reason alone!
  21. Kevin Richardson in the last 5 mins 1993, 2nd Round, 1st Leg after Bossie saved a penalty happy days! We went on to win the Cup that year too its an omen. So question is would you take defeat tomorrow to win this one?
  22. so we will get the whole of the Railway End thats what 6000 of us? Shame i am in Thailand will have to stay up for that one!
  23. Utd at Villa Park we have to play them in a cup at least once a season!
  24. Well every dog has its day mate but even if they are they will always be Forever in our Shadow!
  25. NRC was quality today and if only he had someone alongside him that was any good! Ultimatley the difference between the two teams was VDV and he should not even have been playing having signed 2 days after the transfer window! OH well i can take defeat when i see positives and Gerard is learning all the time hopefully when Jan comes he can make the adjustments needed.
