  1. Rome is in the region of Lazio abit like Brum being in the West Midlands.
  2. Crap game, great result. Hope they win it now but Newcastle away is gonna be a bloody tough game for them i reckon.
  3. this is all going too well i get a bad feeling the rain will make this game abandoned
  4. The backlash will come in season ticket sales we will be lucky to see more than 25K in the stadium for the opening game of next season if he is still in charge.
  5. Its ok saying we have injuries and blaming the performance on lack of experience but the cock had Heskey, Cueller and Nzogbia on the bench and played a player in Clarke that has not played in 2 months. Lerner do the right thing and admit your mistake before its too late and you lose the fans forever.
  6. I said i would renew because i thought he would be gone but after today i have changed my mind i wont renew until he has gone. Its ok losing to Man Utd but to not even try is embarrassing. I cant pay for another season of this i want some belief its not much to ask for.
  7. City inciting Utd to spank 10 past us tomorrow
  8. In the interests of finding out what people think, then, if we assume the above two posts are right, that means we know what needs to be done, right? So what is it? What is our "knowledgeable" advice. I wouldn't claim to be more knowledgeable that the people at the club, so I'll leave it to the people who think they are to answer. Not saying i know more than anyone at the club but ok here goes. Appoint a young up and coming manager that has done his time in the lower leagues and been successful like Lambert (Colchester then onto Norwich with consectutive promotions and an amazing first season in the Premier League.) Add in his European Cup winning exploits as a player with Dortmund. Give him £20million and whatever he generates in sales and admit you made a mistake with Mcleish. Bring in a CEO that has a football background like maybe Steve Stride he knows Villa inside and out. One thing i cant knock the club on is the interest free deals on season tickets at the moment so if people dont buy into that sort of plan, then i guess we are screwed as a club.
  9. its in our hands thats all you can ask for but am i confident NO! I have been doing the reverse psychology thing for the past 2 rounds of games and betting on everyone below us to win. It was working well i was losing and Villa were looking safe but last night i was quids in and now we look periless! If Spurs beat Chelsea this weekend our game with them at Villa Park gets moved to Wednesday i believe? is that good or bad for us knowing what we need as everyone else will have played?
  10. There are 8 of us with season tickets in the North Stand Upper. 1 is definatley not renewing due to family reasons. The rest have changed our minds constantly in the past few weeks. As it stands we are going to renew in the hope that surely the board see sense and sack him! We are going to wait though till we are safe first. It could change again but as it stands 7 out of 8 renewing. My question to all those that have said No if Mcleish is in charge is will you renew as soon as he is sacked or wait to see who they bring in? They really screwed up last year by not listening this year they have to surely??? The interest free scheme would have seen them selling 35K season tickets if people had belief in the board and manager and everyone was pulling in the right direction like what happened when they first took over.
  11. I concur bunch of rocket polishers the lot of em! Fergie should give us the 3 points now next week as mcleish is his bitch and can ask for them back next year when they might need them more!!
  12. It's through kitbag I would not worry not a bespoke deal.
  13. If you are going for that game alone then I guess it's more of a risk. When I went we spent a week in Spain based it around footy and chose a week with Champions League fixtures. Group stage is easy to get tickets for so that was not an issue. Overnight trains and internal flights are cheap so after the bonus of El Classico it was off to Madrid to watch Real v Leverkusan on a night train you get your own bed included in the ticket then a flight back to watch Barca v Celtic. With Uefa Cup being on Thursdays now you can watch a game most days if you have the time and money. The first El Classico is normally in November so if you sack this one off you have time to plan and save. Just remember when the Spanish league fixtures come out they are all shown as a Sunday kick off but the games get moved for TV and that can be just a couple of weeks notice before the actual fixture.
  14. Man City's body language is awful they dont look a team something is not right there.
  15. Bilbao are totally outclassing Utd which is great to see! Proper Football club always liked them since we played them in 1997 great supporters.
  16. I went to this game in 2004 never had tickets before i went out there and never had tickets till 15 mins before kick off! Its a game of poker really. If you go there will be plenty of people offering tickets at stupid prices in the pubs and bars on the day of the game. We avoided those and just rocked up to the Nou Camp. There was me and a mate and 2 other lads that we met out there. We got tickets for face value off some season ticket holders that were from Majorca, their friends could not make it so were happy to take face value. After that good fortune i thought i would try the Bernabau later on in the season for the return game, but that was much tougher and i was not prepared to pay the silly prices they wanted outside the ground. Ended up watching that in a bar. I guess its just luck. Hope this helps!?
  17. Villa, West Brom, Wolves, Stoke or Blackburn, Burnley, Bolton, Preston and Accrington all played each other in the first football league season in 1888 so any of those could claim to be the first derby! Small Heath nowhere to be seen for years. I guess it's all down to personal opinion and where you live/grew up who you hate more. I live in South Birmingham don't know any baggies fans so for me that's a polite derby. When we play the unwashed it gets the heart beating more but it's only because we can't really win as there is such a gulf in class between the two clubs. Win it's expected lose or draw you never hear the end of it over here!! 5-1 aside that shut them up for 12 months!
  18. nice finish from Ashley Young that! we could have a half decent team if we had kept all our players!
  19. Wow Ashley Young with a corner that beat the first man for the first time in 3 years!!! 1-0 Rooney
  20. I concur he really is a cock on a stick! I am amazed MON never smacked him when they won that penalty. He just comes across as a no it all and needs to be brought down a peg or two.
  21. Watched the first half in the pub and left after that. You could see we were clueless and i am sorry but that only comes from one man! Feel sorry for the fans that paid to watch that. If he is here next season we will struggle to get more than 20K for home games because every season ticket holder i know will not renew with him in charge.
  22. From the Premier League era it pains me to say it because i hate Man Utd with a passion but for some reason i could not hate Eric Cantona he was about as iconic a player as i can remember in this league. I even loved his retribution to that Palace fan all part of the genius! As for best player who i would love to have been got to be Henry that boy was special for Le Arse.
  23. Good first half, not so good second half. I dunno if its just me but we just have no luck and i blame Mcleish! MON was a lucky manager and Mcleish is a Jonah!! Senagal fancied to do well in the African Cup lose all 3 games allowing their two forwards to be available today one scores, Warnock clatters Best the other comes on and scores a great goal but if that cross was meant for him i will eat my hat. Bannan sticks a cross right on the money Gardner connects there is a scramble and it ends up in Kruls hands. Its luck i tell you! Bent could have had a hatrick but luck is not with him. I thought we deserved a draw i dont really remember Given making many saves. Defence always looks pourous though but going forward there are reasons for hope. Keane MOM. We will beat City though coz thats football.
  24. Doing well to be fair but if you are in finance which i am not and you are coming to a point where its critical what do you do as a business? Go into administration now and take the 10 points to sort out your finances which would still give you a decent chance of making the play offs with lots of games to go. Or gamble the very exsistance of your club that you will get promoted to the Premier League with all the cash that comes to sort your finances out and lose on penalties to someone and then have to go into administration starting the new season minus 10 and having to sell all your squad coz the transfer window is open. Not exactly sure if i am talking out my arse with this but throw it out there for debate.
