well Kendrick normally denies these stories. He came out and said Coutinho and Belhanda were bullshit. There may be interest? I dont think Defour is an AM though. Same here. I would have signed an AM. Big players are usually useless unless chances are created for them. Very rarely you get a Berbatov or even Benteke who can create something out of nothing. Personally, i dont know why managers sign players who are not comfortable on the ball. I just dont understand it. The way Wenger works is the way i would sign players. Even as defenders.. no point being a big unit who wins the ball and then just gives it straight back to them with a long ball.

If Lambert bothered to play him in his proper position (in midfield) we may see his qualities. Shows more ticker than KEA in the same position. Luna and Bennett have not worked out so far, I agree. The problem is we are seeing players in the middle give the ball away a lot, inviting pressure onto us, we are going against 60-70% pressure and this is going to mean our full-backs are suffering. It is no wonder even Lowton is struggling when we are under constant attack. Any player who is being targeted time and time again is going to make more mistakes than a team that is on a level par with possession. Sort the midfield issues, slap Benteke so the ball doesn't bounce off him and I am sure the full backs will then be less of a weak spot. I agree again. However, watching Luna play. I dont think any formation or better midfield players will help. He just jockeys the player.. waits waits and then gets turned. Has no pace to get back. He gets destroyed by some average wingers. It would be okay if he got forward well and set up a few yet he gets lost going forward as well.

I would just prefer to see kids from our academy (most are actually villa fans who grew up in the area) fight for our shirt than some awful players from overseas looking to use us as a stepping stone or make a better salary.

Lichaj had more than 30 games for us and impressed in one or two. He was constantly at fault for free kicks on the edge of the box and was easily outfoxed by decent players. He was not good enough when in our team. I dont remember him being as bad as Luna. You may as well leave a cone at left back and use another midfielder. It would have the same affect. Point is though. We shouldnt sign poor players when we already have some at the club. Waste of transfer budget.

Please. Lichaj was off contract. Do you think he is on 25k at Nottingham? We should have offered reduced terms to STAY in the Premier League. As if he would have declined that offer. Whats the combined wages of Luna and Bennett? All i am saying is we are better off trying and giving our youth a proper go before signing mediocre players. Sign good players or dont bother.
