  1. No they haven’t. There’s a long way to go yet and the business they’ve done has been underwhelming at best. Trippier is the only one you’d say is proper quality. Saying that “oh well they’ve already done enough so let’s just flog them someone” is a poor cop out.
  2. I’m absolutely furious about this. Not because I think we do or don’t need Targett. We should not be assisting them to survive at all and he’s definitely better than what they have. We’ve partially improved them for what? What’s the benefit to villa? In 18 months if they’ve managed to survive we’ll look back at this moment where we could have helped to **** them over and all we did was **** ourselves. They're a club desperate to stay up in the hope that in the next few years they can dodgy deal their way to shit all over FFP and buy themselves ahead of everyone else. We’ve helped them do that. Shame on our club for dealing with them. That said I don’t wish Targett ill he’s been a good pro for us. I just hope he has an absolute stinker of a few months and puts a few through his own net
  3. I had a conversation with someone at work the other day who was under the impression that wearing a mask afforded him protection against catching covid. After enlightening him that the standard masks protect others from something he might have and not know it, not him directly (unless it’s the type with that filter built in), his response was “oh I won’t bother wearing one then” seriously, dude!?
  4. If you fancy a giggle this morning give a listen Liz Truss's attempt to define the difference between "Invasion" and "Incursion" on LBC. To think we have someone that stupid in the role of Foreign Secretary when we're on the eve of a potentially disastrous war in Europe.
  5. https://news.sky.com/story/boris-johnson-sue-gray-has-received-photos-of-parties-in-downing-street-which-show-the-pm-next-to-wine-bottles-sky-news-understands-12525259 Yeah this guy’s done if there’s any truth to this. Taken us for all for words removed
  6. I know it has but who told the Met to go ahead with the investigation now? Number 10 know the Sue Gray report will be bad so maybe they've asked/told the Met to do their investigation now to give them cover to withhold SG findings.
  7. They could have waited until after it's publication if they were going to announce an investigation. They knew full well what they were doing. The Met are acting like they have all the independence of the Gestapo.
  8. Or would he prefer being kicked in the balls this week or punched in the face in 3 weeks time...
  9. This just reinforces what we all knew. That the Met is about as corrupt as it gets. The timing of this is so dodgy. It's clearly designed to prevent the report being released to buy some time for Johnson.
  10. I don't know. It could be like Minority Report where they're investigating Boris Johnson for crimes he's going to commit....I mean, it's a reasonable assumption.
  11. Police decided that it's within their remit to make sure people aren't breaking the law.
  12. Isn't NATO also a purely defensive alliance, or do I have that wrong? If they chose to involve themselves in a foreign war where they (or another NATO member) weren't directly attacked they couldn't then invoke the collective defence clause?
  13. Similar to me. Alex Kidd in Miracle world + Sonic the Hedgehog on master system. I also had Z on PC which was really great. Basically an RTS prototype. I think the first on PC I remember is Doom (my parents really didn't care about video game violence it seems!)
  14. What I'm tried to say about shareholders and investors (clumsily, I apologise) is that like with the macro economy being al about growth a CEO of a company is generally judged by one measure - Have they delivered value for shareholders? That's what's led to these vulture capitalists, hedge funds and private equity etc. It's all about moving in, getting a quick win for the small number of investors/shareholders and getting out. The people working for the company don't matter at all in our economy right now. I agree it's deregulation that's caused the problem, and you're right when you say it's completely ideological. It seems that to some it's an entirely free market with no regulation or it's communism.
  15. So we should all revert back to a mode of working that's expensive, inefficient and negatively impacts my workers mental health to protect other businesses. It's crazy. The world has shifted and we're in the middle of a reconfiguration of the way we work and how our economy works but we have a government that still wants things to operate as they have in the previous century. That doesn't want businesses to change and adapt to new technologies. We've heard them banging on for years about how we're so inefficient compared to other economies, but when we try to get efficient, it's bad. I feel for those working in those jobs that'll be affected by the drop in office working, but I think we all know there's way too many fast food and coffee places, and that was before covid. Regarding the rents and house prices etc. As a home owner I don't want the value of my house to go down, but as a father it's plain to see what we have right now is unsustainable and I want my daughter to be able to get on the ladder when the time comes (she's 18 months old so not for a good few years yet!). The problem is capitalism is a broken system. The obsession with growth and inflation is really unhealthy. Stuff can't just continue to get more expensive forever. What we have now only works for people who have investments and shares, it doesn't work for anyone else.
  16. The "Back to office" calls infuriate me so much. As a business we've decided to go hybrid. It's working for us, we're getting great results, everyone is super happy with the flexibility to come in or wfh. We've decided to keep doing what we're doing because it's not up to us as a business to provide passing custom for Subway and Greggs.
  17. I was lucky to get out there alive, there were no time to take pictures
  18. I think I’d prefer them to drop at least another division rather than go to the wall now. I’m not saying never, but I do think watching a slow death would be infinitely more satisfying. FYI the Mrs and her family are all noses so I’d be quite happy to never play them again although I do wish I could relive the Hutton goal again. Bouncing round their living room screaming “Cafuuuuu” while she and her brother sat with a face like thunder. It’s the little things
  19. https://news.sky.com/story/tories-who-want-pm-to-resign-facing-intimidation-and-blackmail-from-party-mp-warns-12520768 Are there depths to which these arseholes won't stoop?
  20. I'm not saying not to criticise everything that they say or do but this constant "you're not left enough" or "you're too far left" stuff is so boring and really benefits no one other than the Tory party by hurting the opposition, regardless of that you think of them. There's only one objective and that's to get the Tories out. If they're to be replaced by something you regard as "Tory-lite" surely that's preferable to "Tory-full" even if it's not ideal? Until we get proper PR we'll never have a situation where you're voting for what you want rather than the least bad option. While we have what is in-effect if not in practice a 2 party state what hurts one party only benefits the other. That's just the country as it is right now.
  21. I think all you're doing here is playing into the Tory hands. They'd want an action like this to cause discontent and infighting about left and centrism in Labour. See it for what it is, Johnson and by extension the Tories getting a kick in the shins by one of their own. That can't be a bad thing.
  22. He could literally say nothing and just sit there sipping wine and eating cheese?
