  1. Why not? She settled with Epstein. Can just imagine the headlines when he/the Queen settles the case and the victim walks away with a suitcase full of UK taxpayer money. I don't begrudge her though, none of it's her fault. He should be in jail, not facing a bill for his noncery.
  2. You have to feel a little uncomfortable for Sue Gray right now. The way this guy is piling the pressure onto her and using her as a human shield is pretty shameful.
  3. A work event with a shit-tonne of BYOB alcohol...I wish my meetings all started with us all getting smashed!
  4. It does explain why we have some of the worst death rates per capita and the general chaotic decision making throughout...none of them were ever **** sober!
  5. When you think of it in that way, from the lens of your own personal experience of life, where if you **** up, lie or just generally be incompetent you might be blamed, fired or otherwise held to account from your actions it might seem shocking. However, look at it from the Boris perspective. He's born into a family of enormous wealth and power. He's told from a young age how much better he is than ordinary folk. That he can do whatever he wants. He can do no wrong. He's never held to account when he makes a mistake or otherwise fails at anything. Is it any wonder he turns out the way he has? A completely unbalanced and disgusting human being?
  6. Can’t wait to see how the MET get out of investigating this one.
  7. Right age, development potential, sell on potential, decent price, position where we desperately need competition. Sounds like a no brainer.
  8. Do you think we'll reach a point where as a society we need to turn the screw on these people? I'm not in favour of mandatory vaccination, unless you're a health and social care worker because that to me should be part of a condition for employment, but I do think that telling them they can't go to a pub, restaurant, football match, concert or fly would change some idiot minds.
  9. It is subjective but as you point out it also relies on the data and how you interpret it. A 50% increase seems quite a big increase to me. Is there not also a compounding affect here as well? If flu kills 30000 people a year on average (a figure I just made up) and then a new virus comes along and kills 45000 a year (an increase of 50% on flu deaths), that's now 75000 a year dead on average rather than 30000 - giving you a figure of 150%. That's a figure called "excess deaths".
  10. What people mean when they say "live with it" is actually "accept that some people are going to die as a consequence of keeping things open". I get it though. We're all frustrated at the thought of not being able to go to the pub, get a meal at a restaurant, shops and other things being closed. It's hurting the economy and there's people losing jobs and that's terrible as well. No one wants it to happen. At some point we'll get to a stage where it's like seasonal flu where the vulnerable get a vaccine at certain times of year, and yes, a small number of people are still going to die from it, but I'm not sure are at that point yet. Those saying "live with it" are trying to rush to that point which will inevitably end up with people dying who really didn't need to.
  11. Like him personally, seems a good bloke, however we're conceding a lot of goals because of his positional sense, decision making and general lack of athleticism. He's got to be replaced or at the very least get some better competition.
  12. This is 100% correct. It would have been a much better film if they'd have played it much more like a legal/courtroom drama (something along the lines of "A Few Good Men" or "Trial of the Chicago 7"), and emphasising the fact that in this time it's essentially a property dispute with the added jeapody of her being executed for things she had no control over. Comer was the best thing about the film and steals pretty much every scene she's in, as expected because she's just a terrific actress. I'm not sure it was on purpose from Scott to make it all about the men, it was just a natural consequence of him adding all the battle scenes, all the history of these two men's feud and the final duel. It was a subject matter that needed much more subtlety that a director like Ridley Scott has ever done. It doesn't help when you call something like that "The Last Duel"...you're starting with making it all about the duel and make that your big showpiece. I thought it drew a lot of comparisons to Rob Roy which I thought was a much better thought out and acted film and certainly dealt with the rape and revenge aspect much better.
  13. What did you think of it overall? It absolutely tanked at the box office but it's found an audience on streaming. Like you I took issue with Damon and Affleck's weird accents where they seemed to go from American to British to something sort of inbetween. It was jarring and I kind of wish they'd just ditched the whole "true story" thing and set it in Medieval England and cast a bunch of British actors. It must be a challenge for a film maker though when you have a story set in medieval France with a star cast of American/British actors, what accent do you ask them to do? I remember a few years ago there was a Tom Cruise film about the von staffenberg and the uprising against hitler and they just basically went "**** it, everyone speak in your native accent" which was equally weird. Or you could go the other way and do Passion of the Christ where it's in the right tongue but you have to get actors nobody heard of.
  14. I really hope that if they have a winter shutdown they also delay the January transfer window....Wouldn't want a certain unnamed club from using it to get a bunch of players in to help their relegation cause....
  15. Apparently Johnson didn't even attend yesterdays Cobra meeting with the other leaders of the devolved nations...that's right, it's an actual national emergency but that oxygen thief can't be arsed to attend an emergency meeting on a sunday to coordinate all efforts to combat it.
  16. Tbh I just think it's incredible that they all seem to remember every meeting and every non-party/gathering that happened 18 months ago enough to 100% conclusively say they didn't break any rules.
  17. Any old people fancy spending a few days swimming in a Petri dish for the good of the nation? https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-retired-teachers-urged-to-return-to-classrooms-to-cover-staff-absence-as-omicron-takes-hold-12500466
  18. The science of masks is really **** simple. Do you cover your mouth when you cough? Yes? Wear a **** mask Do you cover your nose when you sneeze? Yes? Wear a **** mask It doesn’t give you protection from other people but it does give other people protection from you. There's really no excuse at this point other than just being a selfish sack of shit.
  19. What they do have going for them is it looks like another year where an incredibly low number of points will keep you up. People used to take about 40 points but last year 29 would have been enough to stay up. Hard to see if being that bad but it could maybe be 33 or 34.
  20. Outrageous. They want our fish but not our people! Someone needs to teach Pierre a lesson!
  21. I had the same. It always makes me quite uncomfortable when you get people cheering and clapping in a cinema. Just feels really wrong to me.
  22. He wasn’t going to pass up a chance to turn up and say “vaccines” over and over to boost his approval rating with the retards.
  23. Because they see them walk though the lobbies en mass. When you see a bunch of labour people going into the “no” lobby the secret is out. Agreed they are pathetic but there does seem to be a shift happening.
  24. I would bet that if some of those rebels got a sniff that labour planned to go the other way we’d have seen some back and certainly a lot of abstention’s. Enough to put a shot across the bow but not enough to sink the ship.
  25. majority of 80 MPs but had over 100 of his own MPs voting against him tonight despite begs and threats all day. Surely he’s now a busted flush and doesn’t have long.
