11:40 BBC1 tonight (Sunday 26/06/11) is The Quiet American. A beautiful film that captures the atmosphere of the book perfectly. Trailer here Not normally a fan of Michael Caine to say the least, but in this he is superb, from his opening voiceover right through to the end of the film.

What is this 'they' of which you speak? As for manager updates, I'm happy with twitter thanks. You just choose to not follow the edjits and hey presto, intelligent and informative comments.

You can also configure gmail to pick up mail from all your various email accounts and set rules so they go straight into folders; basically use gmail like outlook and send non gmail emails. Plus it keeps a copy of everything in the cloud, so you never lose anything. Ever.

Buy Nespresso. I guarantee it'll give you great espresso. Some say it's as close as you'll get to the best stuff in italy. It's definitely the best I've had in this country. Don't swear by Starbucks, swear at it. Or get yourself a Rancilio Rocky grinder and Rancilio Silvia espresso machine. Then buy freshly roasted beans locally. Nespresso is easy, quick and clean, but by god is it crap. Also no alternative to Nescafe pods; they do a wide selection, but there's no organic option and no fairtrade option, or at least there wasn't. There's a company in Switzerland that do refillable pods tho...

I have an unlocked Orange San Francisco with a very stable CM7 on it. I'm on T Mobile on PAYG. I pay £20 for six months unlimited mobile web. Also a nice place to be.

On my first playthrough atm. I'm playing it on Insanity setting and it's quite a challenge: ME1 on Insanity was a piece of piss. Combat is much better, though I'm not enjoying getting stuck to objects. Trying to back away from a mob and then I find myself stuck to some box at my side & end up dead.

Where you at? I just got back from a quick non-skiing trip to Portes du Soleil in France and it was lovely. Sunny in the village but loads of snow and coldness up the mountain if you're into breaking limbs and freezing your arse off. I stayed in the village. Was just looking at home cinema amps that I can't afford, then I made myself a bacon sarnie with my mum's date chutney instead of ketchup. That and a cup of tea. Bostin'

Sibelius appreciator here, although Shostakovic ain't far behind. Sibelius' violin concerto in D; Viktoria Mullova has made an excellent recording. Shostakovic's Gadfly seems to crop up through my speakers very regularly (all my music is lossless ripped so I can listen to it from a PC, which is connected to my amp) Umm, Yoyo Ma doing Bach's cello concertos is another - was used in the film Master & Commander . I do like Mozart, but I use it to help me concentrate, not relax. Mahler 4th symphony. There are probably more. Oh, and Dickens - thirded. Just tedious.
