Just watched the extended highlights and looks like Trez had a really good game. Involved in pretty much everything good we did, just couldn't get a goal. Starting to really like him.

Like I mentioned in the match thread, he deserves a league chance but I don't know where he fits. Won't get in at DM ahead of Nakamba or probably Luiz, wasted a bit in that role as well. Doesn't get ahead of Grealish or McGinn in either CM spot either, I think it's quite clear as well that Grealish won't be used out wide any time soon to accommodate Hourihane and then I don't see Conor being any use out wide. It's a tough one.

While Hourihane probably deserves a chance on Saturday, I'm not sure where he fits in. Won't be playing DM since we have Nakamba and he just isn't going to replace Jack or McGinn in one of the CM positions. Smith quite clearly isn't going to push Jack wide to fit Conor in either. Tricky one.

Smith is quite clearly not telling the players to drop deep. It's a mental issue with the players, lacking the belief to push up and take control.
