While Hourihane probably deserves a chance on Saturday, I'm not sure where he fits in.
Won't be playing DM since we have Nakamba and he just isn't going to replace Jack or McGinn in one of the CM positions. Smith quite clearly isn't going to push Jack wide to fit Conor in either. Tricky one.
I love Smith, I wouldn't sack him whatsoever this season. However, the manner of defeat today is very concerning. Arsenal were rubbish, not good at all and still they've somehow been gifted a win.
I don't think Smith would tell the team to drop deep tbf, he's usually always shouting at us to push up.
That one's on the players for me, just a massive bottle job from them all. Just grow a pair and take control but no, not Aston Villa.
Only Aston Villa could **** up a game as much as that. To not even come away with a point from that is quite frankly shocking. We don't take our chances when on top and it seems any sort of pressure we're put under we crumble.
I seriously worry for us now, today could've been a huge moment to kick start the season and instead we've got nothing and come away mentally shot. Been mentioned by others but it does feel very Leicester 2015. I just pray to god it doesn't end up going that way again.
Probably the biggest **** up from Smith since he's been in charge. His subs this season in general haven't been great but why on earth did he freshen the midfield AFTER we went behind?
Absolute disaster.
Yeah we're in serious trouble. It takes a side destined to drop to somehow lose that.
Any sort of pressure we crumble and yet again not taking chances when we're on top. That will absolutely kill us mentally.
