  1. Pretty fuming about this. Surely you'd make absolutely sure that you had this correct before putting the news out there? Apologies to Stan Petrov too surely you smug tw@t Campbell?
  2. How solid? Just as solid as all the other news I mentioned before on Vlaar and El Ahmadi. Tremendous.. Dank u.
  3. On further reflection, the Rice issue raises two problems... 1. Condi doesn't want the job.. 2. Her abortion stance really makes her a non-starter anyway, especially since Mitt promised last year that his VP pick would be a conservative, pro-life pro-"traditional marriage" person. He can't afford to piss off the Tea Party, as we saw in the mid-term elections. The Tea Party will happily strike down the GOP ticket if he doesn't pander to them. He may be able to convince Rice to run in some kind of patriotic call to service. But I think the damage it would do to his campaign would kill it off. Rice is still tainted by Gulf War 2. Independent voters would be turned off by that. Conservative voters would be turned off by her abortion stance. Is she qualified to be "a heartbeat away from the Presidency", given the fact that she has never held elected office before? Expect left-leaning commentators to make hay with a line like "even less qualified than Sarah Palin". I reckon he'll go for Rob Portman.
  4. Rice has gone public that she is "pro-choice" and that won't sit well at all with the hard right of the GOP and the Tea Party. Whilst having Rice on the ticket would appeal to the centre, it will alienate the right. Big decision for Mitt.
  5. All the polls suggest it's Obama's to lose. Florida, as always, will be pretty decisive. It seems the Obama campaign has taken the gloves off though. The attacks on Romney about his Bain history are pretty strong, compared to the 2008 campaign. However, it's easier to get away with attacking a multi-millionaire than a hero ex-POW veteran. I still reckon there's going to be a twist. The GOP and the Tea Party will do whatever they can to avoid a 2nd term Democrat president.
  6. I've always wondered if I was the only one who noticed Rory Delap's throws..
  7. Anybody else who wants to have James Milner's babies, get in the queue behind me. I was here first!!
  8. Apropos of nothing in particular, Rio Ferdinand has tweeted today that his Film of the Day is "Liar Liar", starring Jim Carrey.
  9. This twitter feed is hilarious, retweeting the reactions of hardcore religious people to the news of the discovery of the "God Particle". https://twitter.com/#!/derpparticle
  10. We don't know how long Stan had been at BMH before this scene was shot. He may have been there for a couple of hours, chatted with everybody, had a good cry and hug with everyone and then said "ok ok, I'm just a bit emotional, please don't make a fuss lads".
  11. So if you decide to do a "break out session" and rearrange the furniture, there's a handy guide on the wall to remind you how to put things back.
  12. I dunno.. William Augustus Larned was pretty imperious round that time..
  13. It's not really Apple's fault though surely?
  14. Has he managed to keep his balls in his pants this time?
  15. Newcastle is pretty much underwater now. Cool video
  16. What one website is calling "The Bishop Brennan Moment"
  17. :) That is all. I'll report back after 12 weeks.
  18. Women who do that open-mouthed smile thing.. Don't get me wrong, she looks great but seriously.. Just smile properly!!
  19. IVF injections, egg collection, fertilisation and transfer went exceptionally well. Tomorrow is the blood test to see if Bluto (yes, we named the embryo) has managed to implant successfully. Scared? **** terrified.
  20. If a player is 10% fit (to use the figure previously quoted) then they shouldn't be playing because they run a greater risk of an unrelated injury. If a player is that lacking in fitness I struggle to see how they can move in the same way they normally would and that is going to cause problems or could cause problems. It is fairly normal for club managers to take a dim view of international teams using their players when anything less than 100% so if Given is as unfit as being suggested then you would expect people at Villa to be livid. I should caveat that the 10% figure is anecdotal (is that the right word? I dunno) and not likely to be scientific.
  21. That's fair enough, but I suppose it depends on whether he is likely to jeopardise his fitness by playing? If, like I said, he's able to stand, kick and jump around as goalkeepers do but is still feeling pain and his decision-making or reaction time suffers then why would AVFC be effected? EDIT to say: Perhaps it's worked out better for AVFC this way.. Ireland knocked out after 2 games. Third game RD and SG are unlikely to play, so their recovery/rehabilitation time is increased.
