General hope you don't mind but as beer got mentioned on the Columbus Thread .....when I was over in Cleveland I got taken to the Great Lakes Brewery in the city and the beer was great! Thought it might be nice if the Holte sold some of the beers from the Gt Lakes Brewery as its only up the road from the Brown's stadium and its so much nicer than the usual American export of Budweiser etc! In fact I was asking about American beer at our local supermarket, which sell brands from all over the world and the guy who I spoke to is a bit of an expert and he was saying that some of the American brands are reputed to be some of the best in the world.

I think TBH when most Villa fans calm down and think about the Harewood signing and get over the shock of it not being the next Van Nistleroy, they'll realise he's a pretty decent replacement for Sutton/JPA. As I said a few days ago, every transfer is a gamble but if we've paid about £3.7M on a 27 yr old who has scored goals in the Premiership then even if he's a complete disaster, which I strongly suspect with MON's track record he won't be, we haven't exactly lost alot have we?! This is another good suggestion for a song to adopt. I've posted on General's thread to see if something can be done but I think the club probably think its up to us lot to sort out.

Hi General, With regard to the songs issue you mentioned a while ago that you were looking into this... is there any news with getting the club involved or would the club rather leave it to the supporters to sort out themselves due to not wishing to impose anything on the fans? There's been some really good suggestions on the Utter chants and songs sticky as well as the recent thread about the song used for the players to run out to. I'm sure the other fan sites have some great ideas also. Paulanddonya is quite right Nigel Kennedy is an amazing musician and Villa mad. Black Sabbath and a few others as well. I think it would be a pity if something can't be done if we had a bit of professional help.

Although we may well nab SWP, apart from MON's statement that he wanted to come on loan in January, we have nothing concrete to say he wants to move to Villa on a permanent deal. My money is on Jussi cos he's made no secret of the fact via his agent that he would love to come and play for the club

'If I recall correctly' Thanks for that! I've just checked General's posts since I posted about songs and he's in the process of seeing what can be done. Hopefully then its up to us lot to decide what we want to put forward, personally I think there's alot of decent material on here.There's a few on the Cheap Seats thread too, some hilarious but I can't see the club getting involved with some of the banter, fans will have to sort that out probably.

What does IIRC mean and where in the General's thread was that posted? I think there's some good shouts for decent efforts already on here Gavin.

The problem is that PAOK which I think would be great and other chants/ songs like Viva Villa and the above were deemed by some as too European and that we shouldn't adopt them. I have suggested to the General in that thread that we get some of these and other excellent songs/chants recorded with the help of fans etc and the club . Perhaps this could form some sort of pre-match/half time entertainment for the fans to see which songs work well over a few weeks. I'm sure by people joining in or being adopted we'll all know, which ones are favourite. Its hard to see how we're going to accomplish anything without the Club getting involved because people won't know the words. Its a difficult one but I think with all the new things happening at the club it would be a shame if we couldn't get some decent songs and chants going and have VP bouncing again!
