    Nope Nugent didn't score today it was Gareth Whaley, and ever since he got the call up he's been very poor, his finishing has been garbage, i can't believe there was even a debate the other day about if he was a better player than Gabby!! Apologies I refused to watch PNE V Scum earlier.....misinformed!

    Surprised no one has mentioned Nugent from Preston he'd be good stand in for Carew..Scored again today as well to stop the Bluenoses winning the Championship!. Think Milner would be great, Sidwell maybe Bellamy. What about Saviola? Espeicially as mentioned before he's now confirmed he's defo leaving Barca in Summer after not being offered an extension to his contract!

    Not commenting on Barton after seeing what he did to his fellow teammate! Thug! Bellamy holds MON in the highest esteem from his Celtic loan spell, he's said so publicly and also added that MON is the kind of manager you'd want to play you're entire career under! I think if he's leaving Liverpool this summer I wouldn't be surprised if he's B6 bound at all. Think if anyone can get him to perform at his best then we've got the best manager with the best facilities to make it happen!!

    Sidwell from Reading is out of contract in the summer and available..He's looked really good everytime I've seen him play.

    Why even mention him? :roll: Because I think Berbatov is EXACTLY the kind of player Villa need to sign if we are going to make a statement to the rest of the Premiership that with new owners we mean business. He'd be awesome with Carew up front methinks and Young out wide etc. He's being linked with a move away from Spurs and although he may well go to Mancs or Chelsea etc we do have leverage perhaps with Petrov and the MON factor!

    We won't get him but Berbatov for me!!..He's been awesome this season. Maybe do wonders for Petrov!! as well. I also think Jagielka from Sheff Utd would be good too!

    Jagielka from Sheff Utd would be a good squad buy ..he's very consistent far too talented for Bramall Lane works his socks off too and doesn't get injured...MON player all over Who we buy for a striker is another matter because for as long as I can remember WHOEVER Villa buy to score goals more often than not just can't score at VP..... then they leave and then score boatloads!!!...ala...Crouch....Savo etc

    I wouldn't be surprised if MON doesn't go back in for Milner - shades of Maloney from Celtic - as I think he's almost out of contract with Newcs in the summer

    One thing that is holding Young & Carew deal up is that Pete Colley on SSN reporting from VP said that apparently MON isn't there today!...........So where's he at?!!! What's he up to???!!!! This is maybe reason that deals haven't been sewn up quite as quickly as we'd all like because he's elsewhere sorting out another deal!!...here's hoping Pete Colley said that they were expecting Young to be unveiled at PC tomorrow

    Isn't Darren Bent a Villa fan too? or am I going nanas?!....... we definitely need some quality upfront and someone with a bit of craft and a killer pass in midfield. Angel needs to go ply his trade in a slower league...i'm sorry to say it cos I've always hoped he'd be a huge success but he looks completely lost sometimes these days.. its embarrassing!

    General not sure how to contact you personally, sorry if this is changing the subject but I was wondering if you or any other of the new personell at VP were aware that we've come up with a new song for the Club, which we're looking into getting recorded. I did contact Phil Mepham who said he liked it and another VT member is trying to move this forward with JF from Vital Football as well with the local radio stations.     Any investors who held Villa shares in Nominee accounts with Stockbrokers will have only had the letters over the weekend. Therefore Capita would have only counted positive responses, I would suspect, from direct shareholders by today. There's probably alot more shares to be sorted as the deadline was 5th Sept I think the letter said

    Yep just posted same on "Countdown to Lerner thread" No other bids notified on LSE today so that's it!!! Wonder as Celtic have come up with dosh to sign Lee Naylor today whether we might just sign Petrov next couple of days as well

    My thoughts EXACTLY!!! think I said as much on other thread If I can get hold of the one of the Investments managers I work with at Stockbrokers I use, who specialise in looking at this sort of thing I'll have a word about Villa T/O situation see what they reckon; but from what I gather already, the City consider this a "done deal"

    I can't see how they can put a bid now surely, unless they are going to be right bastards and submit it first thing Wednesday morning :evil: One thing I need clearing up....Does anyone know if they do bid, can Ellis just knock it back and say no thanks I'm not recommending it ??? :? He can (as has been said before).. Agree with Jimmy Greaves - Doubt its going to happen - think probably any investors in AV06 may turn their attention instead to the Barcodes as they'res rumours of a takeover there too!

    Just checked the LSE and no further info posted regarding an alternative cash offer coming in from AV06. I would suspect nothing today, as if you look at recent notices published regarding the PLC, both Final Results and details of the 1st offer from RAL, this time last week, were posted at 7am.
