  1. I love Rotterdam great song and this could be good! Don't worry The General is on the case so hopefully something might get done!
  2. Drat......I thought if I kept away from VT ALL day and just did some work it might do the trick and WE MIGHT HAVE SIGNED SOMEONE!!! :bonk: :drowsy:
  3. Think this one is Mint also....Well done!! How about........ Feared by the rest, loved by the Holte' or " "Feared by their backs, loved by the Holte"
  4. Someone locked him in the bathroom or what?!!!. ..sorry joke from other thread about my bath tub!.. lol Back OT .. As has been said before. that young Slovakian keeper playing for their U21s was brilliant the other night!
  5. General - Many thanks for your reply- will be happy to help in any way I can. As regards Match day experience ,I know American Football is different, but I was lucky enough to go to Cleveland & Ohio Sept 2005. I have a firend who is mad Brown's fan and a Sportswriter. The Browns didn't have a game while I was there, so I was taken to the Ohio State Buckeyes game V Iowa in Columbus and it was quite an experience. It wasn't just a few hours out, people went for a whole day! There were BBQs, Pic Nics in the car park. The OSU band skulls and performance in the morning and on the pitch before the game was something else too. I can't see all this ever being adopted in the UK for a soccer match at Villa Park, but I was impressed the fact that there was an awful lot going on to keep everyone happy. The refurbishment of the Holte Hotel looks great and I'm sure will be a huge success with the fans. Again many thanks for all the hard work!
  6. Didn't he say we were Defo going to sign Defoe about 3wks ago! (Sorry I'm bored getting paperwork sorted for tomorrow, just couldn't resist!) :winkold:
  7. MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!! I HAVEN'T CHECKED VT FOR 3HRS AS WORKING AND I CHECK BACK AND STILL NO SIGNINGS!!!
  8. It was nothing to do with Bouma! :winkold:  There's always one!!
  9. CHILL EVERYONE!! MON has publicly come out and reassured us that the club are making every attempt to improve the squad We weren't dissappointed in January with Carew, Young & Maloney. They've all played for their respective countries this week scored or given MOTM performances. If it hadn't of been for Fat Freddy we'd have signed Milner last August as well This is not the old regime we're dealing with!
  10. PNE fan I know say he's off to Everton but Sunderland are sniffing around as well! He missed loads of easy chances for U21s the other night! Be interesting to see what sort of tournament he has!
  11. From the OS Martin O'Neill has reassured Villa fans efforts are being made to bolster the squad in the wake of the latest departure. Midfielder Gavin McCann last night completed a £1million switch to Barclays Premier League rivals Bolton Wanderers - joining Jlloyd Samuel on the way out of Villa Park. Lee Hendrie will also leave by the end of the month, while striker Juan Pablo Angel moved to MLS outfit New York Red Bulls last month. Despite the departures, O'Neill is confident he will head into the 2007-08 campaign with a significantly strengthened squad. He said: "We can't have what happened to us last November - when we were scratching around for players - happen to us again. "We have a fairly decent idea of what we're going to try to do. The whole reason I've come is because I want to try to fulfil the hopes, dreams and ambitions of the supporters. "It's not easy, but that's part of the whole excitement. Randy Lerner has been very supportive and he wants to try to lift the club from a position of non-strength into one of strength." CLICK HERE
  12. I was thinking though as the original song is ALWAYS TAKE THE WEATHER with you maybe it would be better if the chorus was :- Everywhere you go always take the Villa with you Everywhere you go you always take the Villa Everywhere you go always take the Villa with you Everywhere you go always take the Villa, take the Villa with you!
  13. I'm singing it to you but you can't hear me!!...lol it doesn't matter anyhow its a minor point on the road to World Domination!
  14. erm apparently not!!.. After SSN came out with all that tosh about Nakamura I agree 100% that most we're linked with is ..comes from just idle journalists wanting to fill pages.
  15. ABSOLUTE QUALITY!!!!!!!! if you listen to the track via the link, it could work ....like it mate!! but you've got far too much time on your hands lol Actually it only took me about 20mins last night...I was waiting for something to update so had a bash, I've tried to keep the sense of the original which I think was about someone half asleep half awake day dreaming. So tried to give sense of someone standing in Villa Park the Holte before a game maybe musing over the future. I think this could be OK...but then I love the original song. There's a few chants at beginning of the thread which seem really good too. I love Vindaloo for John Carew as well as Carews on Fire one What have we come up with for Ashley Young?
  16. Oh-OO- the O---KE----CO---KEE Oh Nigel--Reo-Cock-ER That's how Im singing it due to no of syllables in the original...BGA I think what you are singing is OH - OH Reo Coker which does go as well but personally I like "Oh Nigel Reo Cocker" maybe?
  17. Yeah but like was said before best to sing Oh "Nigel Reo Coker" else it doesn't fit the tune? and I can't make the last line fit quite so I suggested "Makes Goals, Scores Goals, he'll turn you inside out" But I think this is one of the best chants for ages..well done!!
  18. Dear General Further to recent posts about the fans wanting to adopt some new songs and the difficulties this presents with people's likes and dislikes, I know you said that you were asking Phil Mepham to get involved but I'm not sure if you've had a chance to read the Utter Chant's thread but we've got a few suggestions for songs to be adopted for Villa, to the tune of Land of Hope and Glory, a really great song for Reo Coker (Should he sign!) etc. Is there anyway we could get a selection of them recorded as happened a few years ago with the Dwight York, New York, New York song but this time maybe the fans could have a selection to choose from with words in the Programme/Giant TV screens maybe and see what they wanted to keep? Maybe this could form some sort of Pre match entertainment for a few games and would give a chance for everyone to vote with their feet so to speak? Surely it wouldn't be hard to get a choir of supporters down to a studio for a day and some musicians to record a few songs that could be played over the PA system??!! I'd certainly be willing to help in anyway I could. Any that went down really well could then be maybe sold in the club shop as a CD or available for Download from the AVFC website. We really DO need the club to get involved with this if anything is going to be moved on as many have said. I would appreciate your thoughts, and thanks for all your hard work. Julie B
  19. Taking on board people's dislike of European stuff and English songs being adopted I've been thinking about adopting a song I always loved on the radio for Villa and its Crowded House - "Always Take the Weather" It still gets played loads and most people know it and I think it would make a pretty unique song for Villa Park, its very echoey and the chorus would sound good with lots of people joining in - might need tweaking but here's a bash:- Walking round the Holte seeing former glories Since 82 out on the street Now its the same place but everything's different You can fight the sleep but not the dream Thing's are looking much the better Same affection wash over me Martin O'Neill and Randy Lerner Reach Claret & Blue Skys Everywhere you go always Aston Villa with you Everywhere you go you always Aston Villa Everywhere you go always Aston Villa with you Everywhere you go always Aston Villa, Aston Villa, with you! There's no place to go that's finer Win the trophies for the mantlepiece Do I stand here dreaming of our glory or do I sing like a bird released Everywhere you go always Aston Villa with you Everywhere you go you always Aston Villa Everywhere you go always Aston Villa with you Everywhere you go always Aston Villa, Aston Villa, Aston Villa with you Link to MP3 if anyone wants to listen CLICK
  20. I really think we already have him in the squad...Luke Moore...but I would like Defoe to come because he is a good striker. Bent would be great, but I really think he is bound to either Spurs or West Ham. I think Curbishley has the lead here... I agree... 6 appearances only on as sub at end of season and 2 goals...he's the best finisher we've got at VP. He's hungry - already back in training to get ready for next season. Would be just a shame if we got rid of local academy lads just to replace them with so called "Bigger names". Give him a chance. We lost our way when LM had to have op last year, we were a poorer side without him till Young and Carew came in.
  21. Ha ha on that note:................... A man wakes up in hospital, bandaged from head to foot. The doctor comes in and says "Ah, I see you've regained consciousness. Now you probably won't remember, but you were in a pile-up on the motorway. Now you're going to be OK, you'll walk again, but something happened. I'm trying to break this gently but your penis was chopped off in the wreck and we were unable to find it." Now the bloke groans a bit but the doctor goes on "But it's going to be alright, we have the technology now to build you a new one that will work as well as your old one did, better in fact. But the thing is, it doesn't come cheap. It's a thousand pounds an inch". The bloke perks up at this, even though it's a thousand pounds an inch. So the thing is" the doctor says, "it's for you to decide how many inches you want. But it's something you'd better discuss with your wife. I mean, if you had a five inch one before and you decide to go for a nine incher she might be a bit put out. But if you had a nine inch one before and you decide only to invest in a five incher this time she might be disappointed. So it's important that she plays a vital role in helping you make the decision." So the bloke agrees to talk with his wife and the doctor comes back the next day."So" says the doctor "Have you spoken with your wife?" "I have." says the fellow. "And has she helped you in making the decision?" "She has" says the bloke. And what is it?" asks the doctor. . . . . . . . "We're having a new kitchen!!!".
  22. BOF look at this way...we have to get to 700 pages before we can make a £7M signing.........its just obviously how it works!!
  23. More SSN tosh...I HOPE!!! My sister in law who is Wet Spam born and bred ACTUALLY thinks he's her favourite out of all their strikers!! I was like WHAT?!!!!
