I find that technically legal is the best kind of legal

    Interesting. Interesting.
  3. Salah not featuring this evening is, at least, a load off. Could've been worse. Hoping for a Diaz blockbuster now * Obviously in a 4-4 draw. Wouldn't want to impact Villa's title chase...
  4. KDB seriously on my **** chopping block now. Even though he's on his way back. He has tricky fixtures. Probably exactly where he plays well. But I can't be dealing with Pep's roulette at this stage of the season with that amount of money. I'm currently debating whether Saka comes in for Diaz and I leave KDB for Bournemouth, or Saka comes in for KDB and I keep Diaz, who I'd probably want from 27 onwards anyway. I'll wait for team news. Just give me one reason to get rid Pep, one reason.
  5. * Oblate spheroid, but yeah I guess when you're talking to someone who thinks it's flat, it's probably best to start simple

So Max is 7/10ths ahead in the first morning of pre-season testing. Not a hugely promising omen for the rest of them. Hopefully a few slow starters can get up to speed. Otherwise the season lasted 3 hours
  7. I agree, but I also think people get disproportionately angry with it. It's a player you'd have captained anyway. So you only get 1 extra player score. It's great when you get a 60 with it, but that would still have been a 40. The gain is usually minimal. Still a better chip than bench boost for the me That thing can derail a season.

If you ever feel like you're not angry enough and you just need a little push, look him up.
  9. It's all relative. The others around that area of the list go waaay back.
  10. Luckily we have a handy U21 checker (here). It seems he did play 3 times for us last season. Off the bench in a league defeat to Southampton and off the bench twice in defeats to Peterborough & Brentford in the Premier League Cup. Still an odd one though, no doubt.

    Clément Lenglet

It probably was a communication issue, but in that situation the centre back sometimes has to take command and get rid of the danger. He allowed Emi to take command when Emi was 3rd favourite to that ball. Which is why I think Lenglet chose weakly. He deferred to someone in a worse position and we conceded a goal from it. Had he put his boot through it, as he was closest to the ball, then we wouldn't have conceded the goal.

    Clément Lenglet

For me the goal was on Lenglet. He could have put his foot through it very easily. Row Z problem solved. He chose not to do that. The striker won a race he was 2nd favourite to. Martinez OTOH was always second favourite to the striker in that race. And he lost. It's nice of Emi to say it's on him, but that ball was Lenglet's to decide what to do, and he chose weakly. Other than that he was very good, I agree. And he has been vital to us recently with our 'luck' with injuries.
  13. Monday results updated. Villa slip to 18th. More games in hand though

    Cheery Twits

    This is an arrestable offence.
  15. Getting into rarified air now. 1 goal behind JPA (62) and 3 behind Platt (64) in our all-time list. All old-timers after that until you reach Shaw on 77 and Gray on 78.
  16. For the second time in a week, Villa put out their youngest U21 league team of the season, and for the second time in a week they win a game. We're now just inside the playoff places, but we do have games in hand over most teams above us. Boro result and stats updated.
  17. Yeah he came on against Everton the other day too.
  18. Hearing about Portishead gave me a craving to listen to Teardrop. And before you say it, yes, I know.
  19. I was ~44k in the queue (yes really). By the time I got to the front, the €86 tickets were gone. I ended up getting 2 x €142 + ticketmaster etc came to €313. But I don't care. It's a bucket list that I thought I missed out on. And the €56 extra would take you a few hours in a Dublin pub to spend. So pittance in the grand scheme. I'm a happy bunny today.
