arsene has managed Arsenal for a generation......Steve Bruce hasn't completed a season with us

Arsenal are not playing today, like the team with Viera & Petit and the famous back four of Adams, Bould,Winterburn & Dixon. so I disagree.

Arsenal after Bruce Ricoh had the luxury of Dennis Bergkamp in their line up and a back four left by George Graham.....Hardly a comparison to the platform Steve Bruce has had to work from.

You could well be right.....but as equally wrong. The thing that is in correlation with all the clubs he has managed is circumstances that got him the jobs in the first place.....He has always come in to rescue.....Hardly a platform to perform silky skills. If he is with us long enough, who is to say the eye catching football you crave cannot be achieved? However, even in our finest hour.......we never achieved that.

If we had of passed them to death and had more corners etc, etc. but still won 2-0 would you have been happier? I guess you would, but to what end.

The year that we last won the league......most fans were saying Ipswich was the better team. We won the league and the European cup the next season.They didn't. They beat us 3 times in that league winning season, but we won the league. Shankly said " any team that wins 24 games in a season deserves to win the league".......thats the stats that matter. We are doing it the right way around, Steve is building and we need to support him. have faith.

He harbours a sort of quiet swagger on the ball that spells danger.He moves like a thoroughbred and does remind me of Thierry Henry. The lad has that intelligence too like Thierry. I still think he has a lot more to offer and seems to be wallowing in the big atmosphere. what I also like is, he seems he wants to play for us.

If Norwich can play attractive football and win the possession stats, win more corners and win the plaudits for being the best team on the day. If they were in control of all that...... why didn't they win?

There will come a time when that will be an important feature of our play.....important to stay in touch with our competitors.....but not yet, we have the important priority of winning and staying hard to beat. that important feature you mention will come with progress and rehabilitation of the side.

I think that is a significant part of his appraisal......at Liverpool he hardly moved, such was Klopps frustration. Kodjia Is now our player and Benteke is not any more, happy memories yes. Its difficult to make a direct comparison.....but I am happy with our guy.

imo The progress in him is tangible.....but its bit by bit, game by game.I think he'll be a good 'un.

Good round up OBE Just a point....highlighted a confidence that when the opposition have chances (We'll MAKE them) they'll miss them, I think some credit for what the coaches have instilled in us of late, is in order. Its the oppositions job to convert their possession and opportunities and for us to make it difficult for them......I think we are now, doing that. This team will in time metamorphose in to what we want it to be......but in the meantime WIP

When we went through that period where we was conceding in the last ten minutes of every game.....the style of football was not bad. I was beside myself......with that benevolent style of weak Lilly livered offering. We have just presided over some of the worst footballing periods of the history of this club. did you think the repair job was like "switching on a light switch" just buys some players and Bingo. What SB walked in to and what we have now in relation is remarkable......We have a long way to go......but Hemorrhaging has stopped. Its a big job, mate Patience, is a virtue.

Irish bias.....are you serious......Have you seen the St Pats parade in Brum, every year. Like me there are legions and legions of Irish or Irish decent in this city. my old Pop was a Dublin man, who introduced me to the passion, in the 50's.....like so many Villa Fans with Irish in them. BOF if anything its the Welsh in Birmingham that would be the minority.....bless them.

I think Dave, There will be a big shift of opinion in this lad come the seasons end. Not because folk were wrong in their assessment ( I understand they can only say what they see).....but I think his confidence/Development/Experience/ Settled surroundings will improve and all play a big part in showing the REAL keeper he is. He too has only been with us a short while.
