No, what I mean ......He has had a major problem with the physicality of this team and has probably been focussed on getting that right, when he has, he moves onto the next problem.......We have had loads to fix and still do have work to do.

I still think there is a fair way to go......and SB says so too.....but the important thing is we are on the road to recovery of that I am sure. we will get the odd set back, but overall I think we are back on the rails.

I think that will happen when Scotty has settled in.....its just unfortunate he has got injured just as he was settling and getting used to his new surroundings. I can only see good things on the horizon......and I think we are only seeing the shoots of recovery, no where near yet, but the recovery is under way. wait until next season when a few more come in and we strengthen again

Steve has been talking in the B/Mail about the physicality required in this league........absolutely paramount.

We have to stay strong when we get a set back......there will be peaks and troughs, but we need the overall to gradually be moving up. The hardest work is in progress and it will get easier.

In some ways he is better......better movement.

I still prefer 4-3-3 but he's the manager.

We have never been a side that has stood out for performances.....sure we have had some isolated ones, but nothing really sustained. I guess the first 18 months under Ron Atkinson springs to mind, the promotion team under Ron and the '77 side was a bit special.....The rest has been a bit adhoc I'm in the win first camp and then move on to win convincingly. I think we are still early days and just need to win.....the icing can go on after.

The thing is.....when you have supported the club for over 50 years like me,you can recall seeing scenarios similar to this before. it reminds you what happened before, when we dug ourselves out......and it takes time even if you are on the right road to recovery.

It could be.....time will tell. It seems that the club are willing to give it to him......but maybe they see what goes on behind the scenes.....we can only judge from matchdays.

There has been a number of posters in previous posts who have very eloquently explained the answer to your question. you either accept that it takes a manager some time to clear up the mess of the last 7 years or you don't......in which case you will get posters posting similar posts until he has gone......or the football reaches the standard you expect and we are all happy. the only difference is some of us knew it was coming. I don't really know. its just me , I am not taking too much notice of the league position this season as there has been too much disruption.....its just difficult to get a defined judgment from it......We can all make personal stabs at it to promote our arguments, but what use is that. We want a successful team......not win arguments. We are in transition,get this season out of the way and I think, we can judge him fairly. i just think it would be quite slick to finish the season showing the strength that these players have and display the teamwork essential for promotion. Win the last 6 games would be good
