  1. Oh, we wouldn't be sitting back. I think your defence and midfield would be all too aware of that. What you have to remember is that we've changed our manager, staff, playing style, half our first choice XI and more besides this season. If we'd started the season with this set up I reckon the table would look a bit different at the top. Leeds deserve to go up. But be thankful for Sheffield Utd hitting a slump and injuries and Villa being transitional. Might have been different otherwise. Still, its about time Leeds got back into the top flight. Hope we see you there next season too. If not, the year after.
  2. A lot of your fans, including ones I know, and pundits reckon it was your best game. Regardless, you're stuttering to the finish and we're not. I think your bluster is misplaced.
  3. And we're not the same team. At all. Ask Leeds if they want to play us now. If they keep coming at us, we'll kill them on the counter. Different ball game. In any case. I think due to the injury problems hitting Sheffield Utd, Leeds will go up automatically. So won't be our concern. In the playoffs at least. WBA I guarantee will be dreading facing us.
  4. There isn't one way to do it. Getting a veteran like Cahill to work alongside a core of younger potential seems like sense to me. And er, while Cahill wouldnt be cheap, do we look like we need the money?
  5. Indeed. The thing that separates is how many times your day comes around.
  6. I think a lot of fans fear Leeds because they had their best game at Villa Park. They're not that great. Had we started the season with Smith I reckon we'd have finished above them. Yeah there are easier fixtures and they could beat us, but I reckon they'd be more scared of facing us now than vice versa. Blose beat them. Twice...
  7. If Purslow says we're in line with regs, or we've found a loophole, I'm fine with that. Beats suspicion from jealous chairmen or armchair accountants. I'm personally bored of all that. And Steve Gibson can still be presented with my fandanglers. Benevolent custodian or not, I've always thought he was a bit of a prick.
  8. Cahill is a good shout. As well as Axel though. Not instead. Plus Mings and maybe Hause.
  9. I can see us going back for Isaac Hayden. In the Championship, he, along with Grealish and McGinn would dominate. In the PL it would be a vibrant youthful core that would need a class old head along with them. If we go up, add Bowen too.
  10. I think the mentality of the team at the moment is that they will beat anybody in front of them. With that in mind, I'm inclined to agree with them. Bring on whoever and wherever. Rah rah rah. We're going to smash the oiks.
  11. Mings and Tuanzebe is the dream. I doubt anybody gets Tuanzebe for anything under 15m and even then only because of his injury record. Hey, if he could stay fit, I'd pay it without hesitation. The kid is going to be a Rolls Royce centre half.
  12. That Daniel James lad looks mustard. I'd go for him regardless what division we're in. The other side of the pitch to El Ghazi sounds good.
  13. Except that half our starting XI dont belong to us. We'll have to be very busy in the market. Whatever dividion we're in.
  14. Super rich Egyptian / American to super rich Qatari... Won't make much difference to us. We'll have all the money we'll need or be allowed to spend anyway. I'll say this for the Qataris though. They haven't made a good gaming system since the Jaguar.
  15. We'll miss him for sure. Especially his leadership. Hopefully Hause is back. With Axel, they're a more than capable pairing.
  16. Couple of points. The notion of dropping our top scorer, who is very popular in the squad, works hard and could yet fire us into the PL is ridiculous to me. The penalty was not terrible. Yeah he didn't catch it like he wanted to, no doubt, But it was well placed inside the farpost and the keeper guessed right. Ive seen a lot worse. If the keeper hadnt guessed right nobody would have criticised it. Be very careful what you wish for. We're so finely balanced at the moment, the only thing keeping us on track is the harmony in the squad. We have good spells and bad but ee're finding a way through sheer bloodyminded grit and camaraderie. Getting on a key part of that's back is a good way to ruin it. Abraham has not let us down, nor is he acting like a diva or phoning it in. The players love him. Most of the fans do. I believe he's critical to any chance of promotion. Give him a break.
  17. I think you were spot on, actually.
  18. If he doesn't fall apart after 5 minutes he's still no substitute for Grealish. Lansbury is a good player but to come straight in against a team fighting for their life... It would concern me. I hear you about Jack needing a rest but I'm not sure we can afford to. Or take Rotherham lightly.
  19. If we can manage that, and keep momentum, great. Thats what Smith gets paid for I guess.
  20. Honestly, I wouldn't rest anybody unless it was absolutely necessary. If you take your foot off the gas, there's no guarantees you can get back to speed. Keep it up, keep winning, don't stop until you win the final. Rest afterwards.
  21. There are some quality names in that team.
  22. Just win as many games as we can and see where we are. Then smash whoever is in our way in the playoffs. I think keeping the habit and momentum of winning will serve us better than trying to manufacture a tie against a certain team. As my mates in the tin cans would say, Fear Nought!
