  1. Top fighting spirit second half whatever happens now. Where was this first half?
  2. Well that was a bit shit. Players weren’t at it from the start and we brought that on ourselves for poor play. Didnt see mings first booking but can see why he got the second. That being said this referee has been nothing short of disgraceful and seems to be revelling in winding the players up.
  3. Poor start this is. Not doing the basics properly. Need to get on it and move it quicker.
  4. 18 points from derby, boro and Blackburn at home and aha, forest and sheff weds away has been fantastic. We’ve been top class in some of those games at times but satisfying today to do it in the manner we did as well.
  5. Great first half. Agree with Smith, some of the best stuff we have played under him. We were sloppy second half, managed to get the second goal then became more sloppy/leggy. However, our defence looks very resilient now and although they pressed last 15 mins they never really fashioned a clear cut opportunity in that time. Whelan and Mings were top quality again.
  6. He’s inconsistent but great work for the first goal in winning the ball back. I think he did well on Wednesday and was alright today but gave the ball away too much.
  7. Had a great game. Barely missed anything. Has been in good form for a while now.
  8. Not in my wildest dreams did I think we’d make the top 6 after the Albion game: We’ve swept aside some of the play off contenders without breaking much of a sweat.

We look so much more solid with Mings and Hsuse than we did with a half fit Chester and an other. Hope he continues this form.
  10. I can see why Poch got annoyed with Dean. Did anyone see he wasn’t even looking and gave that last foul for the free kick on edge of box?
  11. Think we’ll revert to a hourihane, mcginn and grealish midfield. Maybe Albert out and either kodjia/green in. The rest will be the same.
  12. Top stuff in the last two games from Smith. Don’t care how we won today, the important thing was to do it. Sets us up for a push when the season looked over a couple of games ago.
  13. Jack showed his maturity today both as a man and a player. Top class. Mings and hause (bar one slip) were immense as well. McGinn changed the game for us! Overall a great afternoon ignoring the obvious incident.
  14. We’ve been poor. Two wide players giving it away too often. Need half time to come at this rate.
  15. Looked like a different team playing. A football one.
  16. They did score in the first minute.
  17. We’ll get massively overrun in midfield I think. Even more so than the game at Villa Park. Can’t see anything other than a defeat despite the poor run of results Stoke have had (see Wigan away).
  18. Our style of play was completely destroyed by the injuries of Tuanzebe (a defender who was calm and excellent on the ball) and Grealish (who took away two or three of the oppositions players allowing space for the wingers and McGinn/Hourihane). Without them we’ve been woeful. Smith needs to find a way to cope without them. His current philosophy just isn’t working with this set of players, they just aren’t good enough. I get the argument he shouldn’t change for the players, but it’s heaping more and more pressure on him by serving up uninspiring, insipid performances.
  19. Why was he strolling off at 2-0 down? Hardly a way to endear yourself to the fans. Don’t agree with cheering him off but His performances recently have been dreadful. Looks completely shot of any confidence to do anything on the ball, it’s like a hot potato.
  20. Seriously thanking our lucky stars we have 45 points because we look like a spent force without Grealish and Tuanzebe. It’s not getting any better is it?
  21. Don’t even know what to say. There’s nothing there. Nothing. It’s just get outplayed by pretty much every single team we play, pinch the odd point here or there, rinse and repeat.
