Reported fee aside Ings is a very good player. Not only knows where the net is, has experience and runs defenders ragged.

Although it may seem sour grapes on our part, I’ve thought similar to this from the get go. Don’t get me wrong, Grealish is a fantastic player when in full flow, but I’m not entirely sure how much he has left in him. Didn’t look anywhere near fit for England every time I saw him in the Euros. Southgate clearly didn’t trust him but there were reports of him missing a lot of training etc which must have contributed to his game time. Will be interesting to see how he goes injury wise, assuming he has gone.

Interesting to see if they pay particular attention to his shins.

Wouldn’t surprise me either way. I think the issue is they won’t pay what we want or all of it up front. Nothing may well have happened by the time the Watford game rolls around. Although I’d imagine we’ve given them a deadline.

The main issue with training is we are less than two weeks until the season starts. I understand he is fulfilling his contract but if he is off then why do we want him there? It seems a very odd situation to me, especially the official Twitter putting video snippets up of him. Needs to be sorted now and not drag on all week so we can move into the season one way or another.

We must have a plan here, two weeks before the season starts and this could seriously disrupt the rest of pre season unless sorted pretty quickly. We’d also need to spend the money (this is all assuming he actually leaves). if we were to accept a bid, I wonder how much the club are considering his injury record and the fact it was a similar injury a couple of seasons ago. All hypothetical of course. They may have no intention of accepting any bid. What is for definite is that it needs sorting as soon as possible.

I can’t see anything other than relegation. Defending is shocking and we’re not much better going forward. Haven't criticised the manager too much but today was poor. Guilbert was having one and kept him on the pitch which ultimately cost us at least a couple of goals. Not that the rest weee much better.

This back four must have cost 50+ million surely? I mean I know the market is inflated these days but you’d expect footballers who can at least do the basics.

Guilbert has had an absolute mare here. Not sure how he survived the hook over Elmo.

Desperately in need of Davis here. I’d worry about the midfield going 4-4-2 but they’re pretty non existent anyway.

I still think the recruitment has been awful. Some of these players aren’t bad but as has been said on here before, reminds me of 15/16 when we bought players with potential such as Gueye and threw them together. In actual fact, against Man City at home, we ended up with 8 players (or close to as I recall) that had played in the championship the season before. I’m not sure if Smith is the answer and I think he may have run out of ideas having watched his post match comments yesterday. It’s often the beginning of the end slating his own players in public. However I don’t think Purslow and Jesus etc. Should be free of any blame.

What an evening! Nyland was incredible first half. Second half I thought we were the better side. Think they underestimated the influence Tyrone Mings has on this side.

Not that much can be done other than sack Smith, but I’m not entirely sure many others around may get a tune out of some of these players. Our recruitment in the summer is looking a complete disaster at the moment.
