  1. Easy to say it now after that half but this is how we should have started along with Mings at the back. Same team will walk out for the second half I imagine.
  2. Sums up the refereeing. Played two minutes of the injury time and adds none on. Played well for 75 minutes to contain them. Just fell to pieces. Sky commentary disgraceful but is anyone surprised? Hope our lads made it off the field ok. I’ll add to this. City have just won the league and their fans are singing about our manager.
  3. Yep fair enough if he was gone. Buendia looked more knackered than him but don’t know that.
  4. Traore, Sanson and Hause not available. This is a game we should be looking to win. If we don’t, I still think we’ll get at least another six points this season. However, a loss will pile on the pressure that we really don’t need.
  5. Not seen anything from him since Everton but then he’s never played in his proper position. I don’t think Gerrard knows what to do with Bailey and Buendia.

Another poor performance. Was all over the place. That dire header for their first goal set the tone.
  7. Front three have been awful. Then again the formation probably not helping either.
  8. He’s been far better than the rest of the midfield and the front three.
  9. Agree with the assessment of the game until probably 40 minutes. They could well have had another couple in added time while we have not threatened bar Bailey’s long effort.
  10. Bad defending but that came from a few terrible touches up the field. Mcginn then charging in to earn a completely needless yellow card just about sums it up.
  11. Poor, lethargic performance. Arsenal were decent in the first half but looked an average side in the second. I didn’t think our second half was much better. Dire lack of urgency in the final 15 minutes as well. Midfield were dominated and poor again but that has happened quite often this season.
  12. Much worse for the second. Why on earth hasn’t he booted that ball out after De Gea made the save?
  13. Great to see us create some big chances today. Probably could have had more but can’t complain with four. Watkins and Ings looked very sharp. They couldn’t cope with them and Coutinho in behind.
  14. Thought we controlled most of the second half. Good to see Watkins get on the scoresheet as well. Was vital we pulled away from any relegation worry, this result helps massively with that. Hopefully we can start looking up the table after a poor set of results.
  15. Can see this point absolutely. Can also see that we’re 7 points off with Burnley having a game in hand. We’ve also just lost to two teams who are below us. I don’t think it’s completely out of the question that we’ve been drawn in with our most recent results. Even more worryingly, the performances. A couple of wins and we’re absolutely fine. However, where are they coming from with the last few performances?
  16. Not at all. The system has been found out. It’s more of a response to ‘weeding average players out’. Sanson could have at least been given a go in my opinion. I don’t think he’s necessarily the answer, but on numerous occasions that midfield has been tried and been poor under Smith and Gerrard ( albeit in slightly different systems). We need some width back in the side. It was noticeable how wide Leeds made the pitch which we struggled with. Yesterday that change needed to be made and he got completely the wrong subs that actually lost us the game.
  17. I think one of the main issues, certainly on Saturday, is he keeps picking these players. Then didn’t really stick to his formation with his subs and we ended up a complete mess.
  18. Just not a defensive midfielder. Doesn’t fill the gaps left by the full backs (like Nakamba did) and weak going into 50/50’s. Should play further forward or not at all.
  19. Very wary of players suddenly becoming much better when not playing, but feel we desperately need someone like him out wide at the moment. Like the Newcastle game, Watford had worked us out. Flooded midfield and knew that gaps on the wings were not an issue as our full backs could not provide enough quality from those positions. The game was crying out for some width.
  20. It was no surprise we were poor after starting with near enough the same side who started again Newcastle. The subs were utterly baffling. We have no width in the side, no plan B and no midfield. How can we have spent all this money and still be so poor?
  21. Midfield is a glaring problem. The way we play has been found out and there’s no plan b it seems.
  22. Same old problems. Midfield completely non existent. Trying to play out the back but just not comfortable on the ball and when the turnover comes we are all over the place.
  23. Stating the obvious but the midfield have been dire. Our recruitment in the summer is looking shockingly bad. The coaching even worse judging on the past few performances.
  24. They’ve countered on us all game and we’ve done nothing about it. Unlucky with deflection but that’s what happens when you let a team do that. Long way back.
