cant tackle, cant run, cant shoot, cant pass forward.....and hes bringing what to the team?

im not advocating the dropping of brad at all but would be great if anyone whose going to the game today could watch brad in detail and see his relationship with the back 4/5 and how well he organises them given how inexpierienced they are. Its all well and good him stopping pens and making saves but if we could be organised better to stop leaving the opposition to have shots this is something we must consider. Shay doesnt command his box so to speak but having seen him live for Ireland on numerous occasions with very young defenders, he does organise them very well. Any thoughts??

Think he will start, probably be a handful but be shocked if he had anything about him given the impact hes had since arrival

cant see a win today, or ireland starting, lambert has clearly decided hes had enough of him and despite the performances from everyone in the last couple of games, can probably see him being the fall guy from it, probably see same team with Bannan and alrbrighton or bowery. Altho how KEA can keep his place makes the mind boggle

Ireland deserves to start, looked much better than bannan for the last 35 mins on sunday and his passes were sticking... cant understand how bannan and holman are getting in ahead of him,, holman was so wasteful the other day, something he has been for a long time, the difference is we were punished on sunday

agreed, saw this stat on twitter which gives weight to your argument "Villa have conceded only 6 goals with Stephen Ireland on the pitch in the 8 games he has played. Without him, Villa have conceded 16" Not checked the accuracy but considering what happened at southampton and City, it could add up. Not saying for a second this is the only reason we have conceded more, I acknowledge the timings of his substitutions and other factors but it is an indication of his value to the team.

Hats off to the lad, could of had 3. Seems a good goalscorer which is always something we need. However, I still felt some of his play was quite poor. Plenty of room for improvement

its hard to judge him on one performance. He did ok, looked suspect for at least one of the goals and lost concentration a good couple of times. the lad certainly didnt leave himself down being thrown in at the deep end. it comes down to two things 1) Can he learn from his mistakes 2) Can he maintain and improve his performances, it wouldn't be unkown for a kid to come in and have an amazing debut against a side like man united and the fade horribly.

I really felt like we saw today what having two midfielders who pass the ball forwards can do for us. We create chances, unlike we have done with him and delph in the team because he struggles to pick out Gabby, Ireland and Co. Bannan and Westwood gave a similar amount of defensive cover today as KEA would but made us tick better in midfield I felt and increased our threat as a counter attacking team.

I know they were knocking on the door but he was brought on to give protection to the defense instead of ireland... He was sloppy in possession, lost the ball in a danger area, proceeded to give away a free in a dangerous area which they scored from. Disappointed in his cameo

Would much prefer a cheeky bid for Victor Wanyama of Celtic. The club has had positive dealings with them before and Lambert could have a good relationship with them. Been very impressed with him so far. He cost a mere 900k...cheaper than Westwood and KEA and has been very good. Could probably do the job KEA and Delph are doing on his own. Has a goals to game ratio in Scotland of 1 in 4, which is similar to petrovs when we got him. He can also act as cover for the defense. Strong and good tackler and gets up and down. His youtube clips also make for a better endorsement too. I fear bigger clubs may be circling tho based on various news reports.

Think if Gabby starts on saturday he will justify his selection. Didn't start too badly against Fulham just needs to keep it going for 90 mins.

Certainly agree. I can see lambert hitting the panic button here and going out of his way to field a team to stop Norwich rather than trying to play our own game. This being a combination of fear of losing 3 on the bounce and fear of losing to his previous club. Think he has lost confidence in his preferred formation, players and self already. Expecting plenty more hoofball similar to last week and Benteke back in. It certainly won't be pretty but we won't lose and think we could sneak a win. Feels bad even writing that we may sneak a win against Norwich FFS. I know they have beaten Arsenal recently, but despite this they have been probably the worst team i've watched this season (besides us actually). However, at the end of the day a win is a win no matter how we get it. Win or draw, he will be happy with the performance, think we played some lovely football at times and think were turning a corner. Ps, this is my first game of the season, we havent lost any of the 7 ive attended over the last two years believe it or not, hence my optimism.

My understanding is: you couldn't be arsed getting an understanding and just chirped in. Its the clubs fault if any for double booking them. He stated Gabby signed 3. Hardly a big difference. Id also say if you asked anyone with kids who attended, would they begrudge 3 players going to see children who are ill as opposed to staying with their own, they wouldn't have an issue. You have no idea what the arrangements made were. The players could of been late for other kids or anything.
