  1. Pretty sure it has yep. Loan signings can only be made before September or in January from now on. Supposed to encourage lower league teams to use their academys. Not being well received by a lot of chairmen though so could see them bringing it back in a different form by next season
  2. Victor Anichebe? Signed and played under Steve Clarke, could do more than a job in the championship. Big and strong with pace, apparently well liked in the dressing rooms at Everton and West Brom. Lots of vids on him working on his fitness on twitter too. Could be a good option
  3. Couldn't agree more If you'd said to me at the end of last season that no-one would comment on a member of the boards topic in over a month, and when they did it would be a positive comment, I'd have been completely shocked. No news is good news from the men behind the scenes as far as I'm concerned. It's nice getting info from Xia but other than that its nice to have an anonymous backroom team seemingly keeping things running smoothly. I'd rather forget Wyness is here than constantly remember Tom Fox, Paul Faulkner and the like.
  4. Gonna throw a random one out there, Idrissa Sylla? Been linked to Wolves so could drop to Championship level. 25 year old international striker for Guinea, with pace. Plays for Anderlecht. Valued at £2.5mil
  5. If it actually is Lavezzi I will go absolutely nuts.
  6. I think if you met someone in a wheelchair and told them how mobile they looked, they'd thump you one. If they could move.
  7. We need someone who is reasonably immobile, a big strong striker to lead the line and be a good backup to Gestede, there's only one lad in the whole of the football league who fits the bill and is in the "world class" bracket.... But what would it take to prise him off Leyton Orient, so soon after signing for them?
  8. Gollini Bacuna Elphick Chester Cissokho Gardner Jedinak Westwood Grealish McCormack Ayew Get the fullbacks attacking, the midfielders protecting, Westwood collecting the ball and distributing it, Grealish being the link and the freedom to roam and put the front 2 into good positions. Especially considering how Bristol City play, I think it's important to pack out the midfield and win the possession battle, try and crowd out any runs from the forwards. Tammy and Kodjia both look dangerous so it's important to not give them space to run into or any space to shoot inside the box. Wouldn't be disappointed with a draw but really feel like it would be good to win this one and kick forward with the season, get as much momentum as possible going into September.
  9. If we're linked to random attackers in China then I wouldn't say no to Asamoah Gyan or Ezequiel Lavezzi. Maybe the tease about a number "9" is that he'll want the 3 shirt instead? Off to Sheff Weds for free you go Bennett, we need your number
  10. Of course he gets joy out of the situation. If he had any problem with it he'd be match fit, like a professional footballer should be. For every supporter at the ground supporting and liking Gabby, there are 20 who will cheer and support no matter what, but will talk about how useless and unfit he's become over the last few seasons. If on a rare occasion Gabby comes up in conversation with a football fan, the question that is nearly always asked is "what happened to him". He got complacent, he lost his pace and lost the fans by continually messing up off the field. This guy should not play for the club again. If we need more strikers on the bench, bring some in, or pick Kozak, Davis, RHM.
  11. Oh come on Lescott! Hopefully we can find a way to sack him, without paying him off. If he can't pass a medical in Scotland then that's got to be a breach of contract.
  12. I'd rather Iorfa than any of the others linked but I wouldn't complain about any of the three, all good options. A lot better than I expected at the start of the window
  13. Now that our sell to buy policy has turned into a sell the bad, buy the good policy couldn't Xia just cough up the money and splash out on Kodjia and Ince? Bring them in and we're looking very strong.
  14. Bit premature but if we don't get enough midfielders/wide players in before the transfer window SLAMS shut I would like Morrison from WBA. was released so we could get him in after the window
  15. I think we've already got someone looking to take him on and that's why the news of him saying he wants to leave has come out
  16. Interesting that at the time of rejecting us, one of the vague reasons Round gave for not joining up was that he wanted to go into management eventually. I can't see it being him Maybe Nick Hammond.......
  17. N'Doye sounds like a more realistic championship signing, he's from a French league where he's captain and I've never heard of him, so he definitely fits the bill. Diawara is unrealistic and I feel like the Jedinak transfer has gone on a little too long after confirmed interest, so I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking at other options either to hurry it up, or because it's fallen through.
  18. Greene?! Saying Clarke was forgivable, but it looks like you're just going out of your way to use E wherever possible.
  19. Because then the mighty Alan Hutton and his footballing greatness would be on show less
  20. Having given it further thought and putting Wednesday night behind us: Gollini Bacuna - Elphick - Baker - Amavi Gardner - Westwood - Tshibola Grealish Ayew - McCormack Get the full backs to offer us width, we have to have 3 in midfield because we're simply not strong enough with just 2. Grealish given the opportunity to play more centrally will offer much more I'd have thought. Ayew and McCormack should be ripping this league apart with correct service and I trust Bacuna, Amavi and Grealish to provide that service more than any of our other players. Comfortable 4-0 win
