  1. Can certainly see the talent and potential, but my word, are all CBs in the Bundesliga that bad? As for whether we'd get him, I doubt he's available. Mainz just signed him last summer and he was the most expensive signing in club history. Doubt they're willing to sell after a season.
  2. I'd imagine he'll be a bit too expensive for us considering all the other needs we have, but I'd love him as well. We'd be a real threat offensively.
  3. Yes, he went to Atalanta on a two-year loan with an option to buy last summer. Not sure how it works. Would Sampdoria be allowed to sell him out from under the loan?
  4. Yeah, not sure Atalanta will want to let him go at this point.
  5. A quick list of players I like. Not sure of availability or cost, but I think they'd be in the same price range as Tammy Abraham, if not much cheaper. Vincent Aboubakar Patrick Cutrone Kevin Lasagna Sebastian Haller As a Napoli supporter, I watch a lot of Serie A as well. I really like Cutrone. He's only 21 and fits the mold of young and talented.
  6. It's pretty average. In comparison to our current roster, the only players on Villa rated 75 or higher are Grealish, Tammy and Kalinic.
  7. He's rated as a 75 on FIFA, and that's the extent of my La Liga scouting.
  8. Don't know if Napoli would be looking to part ways with him, but I'm a big fan of Amadou Diawara. I think he'd be an excellent CDM here.
  9. Rather pay McCormack 70k in the Premier League than 40k in the Championship.
  10. Seeing the title of this thread brought a tear to my eye.
  11. I actually think Moses could be useful in the counterattacking scheme that Lambert seems to prefer here. To compare what he was asked to do at Liverpool to what he'll be asked to do here isn't really fair.
  12. He was born in Utrecht in 1939. He has 3 children and is a boyhood Aston Villa who thinks we will get relegated without investment. Cast iron info there for you. I think he's just what we need: a 75 year old billionaire with three children to fight over what to do with the club after he dies in a few years.
  13. As opposed to the common sense that if Lerner were negotiating with Arison about buying the club the two of them wouldn't be hanging out together in a parking lot in full view of cameras in the first place confirming it hours ago. Wait a minute I've been saying that it isn't him all the time just looked him but I don't think they would care less, there could be any number of reasons for them to be seen out together in public, maybe they weren't expecting to be photographed at that time whoever they were. As I said Arison's company have just done a deal with Dallas Cowboys. So even if were him it would most likely have something to do with that. Sorry, didn't mean you specifically. I meant this thread in general.

  15. Look at what you've all been reduced to.
  16. Hey Rodders I don't think you've kicked that dead horse enough.
  17. So am I, as are you. Not sure what that has to do with somebody buying the club.
  18. Wasn't there word a while ago that one of the owners of the two Texas baseball teams was interested in the club, and that was why the team was touring Texas?
  19. I think he signed with Roma He did not. Last I heard Napoli was the likely landing spot for him.
  20. Just for the sake of my sanity I'm going to pretend this actually has a chance of happening.
  21. When actually buying a soccer team you don't quite take the same approach as you do when deciding on a job offer in FIFA.
  22. If you double your offer for Bertrand Chelsea might accept it.
  23. Factor in wages and Bowery every time. Yeah, technically you could argue that Bowery was paid £0 per goal. You could also argue that his performance against Hull kept us up and was worth about £50m. Or you could argue that Villa actually secured survival when it beat Chelsea in March, as that gave it 34 points on the season, which is one more than Norwich finished with. The Hull match just made everybody feel better.
