    Fair enough, but 16 of those Rondon appearances were as a sub. That's why I prefer going by minutes played, which is 35 goals in 10,845 minutes, or one goal per 309.9 minutes, or roughly one goal per 3.44 90-minute segments. Still, I suppose it's semantics at this point. As for the free agent, I'm basing that off something I read here earlier that he was available on a free and out of contract. I could be wrong. If he's going to cost £16.5 million or so, I'm not interested.

    Rondon scored a goal for every 2.7 appearances this past season. If you include his time at West Brom, one goal per 3.6 matches, or one goal per 318 minutes played, which isn't great. But if he's on a free, and you're bringing him in for depth, I don't see anything wrong with it. As for Mitrovic, he scored a goal for every 3.4 appearances and 298.4 minutes played this season, but it's harder to judge that based on just the numbers because that team was an absolute mess. Over his entire PL career he's scored a goal for every 3.1 appearances and 261.3 minutes. I'm not as interested in him as others, but your assertion of "1 in 4" seems deliberately misleading to further the point you're trying to make.

    Rondon scored a goal for every 237.18 minutes last season. Raul Jimenez scored a goal for every 240.38 minutes last season. I'll take Jimenez-like production from a guy on a free.

    A friend of mine is Uruguayan, and I sent him a text about Villa's purported interest in Gomez and his response was simply "do it now because they won't be able to afford him in a few more years."

    If I'm given the choice of Maxi Gomez for £35 or Tammy for £25 it's not much of a question for me. Give me Maxi Gomez. Tammy has loads of potential, but Maxi has already lived up to some of his.

    Sports betting is just starting to become legal in America across the country, so it's a new market here for teams and leagues to find revenue. I would assume Edens is referring to that, and that it won't have any impact on sponsors for the kits.
