  1. Jokes aside. Seems like were trying to eliminate the threat of Gosens & Kimmich by limiting the space afforded them wide. Essentially funneling the space and potential ball toward Kroos and Goretzka centrally. Much like how Hungary defended. Surely Low is well aware of this, and will look to utilise the ball-time of Kroos and Goretzka. With the extremely intelligent space conqueror Muller, I do worry if they have something up their sleeve. Then I suppose you are banking on the athleticism of Phillips and Rice to counter act such a threat. I worry about Southgate's ability to adapt on the fly. With such a limited midfield. I think we're going try to utilise Sterling to probe the space behind the WBs, with balls over the top. Then look for deep runs from centre midfield (Phillips) and the opposing flank. Also with someone like James/Shaw, you can match the athleticism. We'll also really want to weaponise effective 1st-ball set-pieces. I think we won't risk being countered by reloading after a failed set-piece, and will look to retain possession, even going back to Pickford at times. I just hope England are not fully occupied on containing. I still believe that the best form of defence here is to impose our attackers upon Germany themselves. I also believe the team should have been built around utilising Jack. I suppose at least Southgate seems to have a plan, whatever you do make of it. Rather than 'don't worry about them, just do what we do lads' rhetoric that has failed many England teams of yonder. At the risk of sounding like Cpt. Obvious, 1st goal is super important.
  2. Coach Scaloni felt sorry for Bolivia
  3. Set pieces for the win! He's been mentioning these a few times. I expect to miss one good set piece chance, and create very little. Lose. Then hear abt if that said set piece chance had gone in, well boy, boy boy, that would have been a different game. For the love of God almighty, build around the Jack. Still... Come on England!
  4. Fever-dream..... 1-0 down, 10 left on the clock. Grealish, Mount, Foden and Sancho, quick warm up lads you're on. Maguire, deep in own area, arms stretched out in nonplussed shrug, lumps the ball toward German 18 yd area. Think Given, Bradford 2013. "Dust yourself down lads, we go again against Moldova in WC qualify. That is my bread & butter"
  5. With all the looking into the Twitter tea-leaves guff. I was sure that I had read that story before.... Ah yes, here it is: Manchester United fans will love what Jack Grealish tweeted about the club Man Utd supporters have been digging up some of Jack Grealish's old tweets and they are certainly interesting ahead of the summer transfer window.
  6. It is a good article. Got me in the mood!
  7. Pretty much confirmed that Southgate is going full stodge. No Jack
  8. Pal, I being saying since I saw him dominate passing lanes in a youth game for Basel vs St. Gallen, back in 07. I was making my bi-century pilgrimage in honour of the Josef Hügi. The Swiss Army knife of neo-postwar Fußball…
  9. I see all the Xhaka hipsters are coming out of the woodwork
  10. Doubt Jack will get a start tomorrow. Apparently it’ll be a back 3/5.
  11. I expect mucho from the training kit. This’ll do me…
  12. Yes. But fear not, we had the last and loudest laugh…
  13. Through, his human trumpet Balague, Rafa is spinning that he’s most closely connected to the city as whole, rather than one club.
  14. And who are you, the proud Villa said. That we should bow so low. We are a cat of true noble coat. Is the only truth I know. A coat of claret, a coat of blue. Our lion still has claws. And ours are long and sharp my foe. As long and sharp as yours.
  15. Surely this is common knowledge? Or do you mean because they’re a Hibs fan?
