  1. Surely this is common knowledge? Or do you mean because they’re a Hibs fan?
  2. Come now. Where the hell is Peter Drury?
  3. Depends whether he stay or goes. Football, like life, is emotion. Get over it.
  4. Spot on. Clearly the club are doing all they can to keep him, if he goes, he turns his back on all of us. I am not going to be so grateful to be re-established as mid-table for a season. Truth is, if he goes this summer. He jumped at the first test of loyalty, mid story. Full stop. I am not buying into this narrative that he is a club legend, yet. He was part of the team that stunk out the Premier League, that twice failed to gain promotion from the Championship, and the person that the club stood by after a series off-the-field embarrassments. His, and more importantly our, fortunes only improved when NSWE arrived. The team and club have been heavily and smartly invested in. Everything has been built around him. Every promise made by NSWE has be delivered so far. We have given him the stage to shine. Perhaps it is time for him to show a little humility, gratitude and loyalty for that. Although I am a football fan, above all I am a Villa fan. I would watch him the same I watch KDB, Kante, Messi et al,. I am not going to become like some moron blose fan, cheering him winning the CL with some other club. 'Our Jack done me proud'. He goes 'Our Jack' is dead to me until he retires.
  5. You cursed it. Speculation has Cooper as favourite now. Could he have a place for Hourihane?
  6. Following that logic, why not push for move last season? He could have got guaranteed CL then? Why did sign a contract, under the premise of the project? After we’d just finished 17th.
  7. Exactly, he was also sold on the project last year. Said himself the target was 8-12th. The owners have not reneged on their word and are investing. I reckon it’ll be another contract, more incomings and a push for top 6.

  9. Sure, if it comes to that. It becomes about milking every inch of the transfer and moulding the narrative. But, I do not believe you can compare Grealish to Kante, Mahrez, or even Chilwell. If this was Konsa, Emi, McGinn or Watkins I would agree. Honestly, this is a unique situation.
  10. Plus we want players to have the ambition to win and win on the big stage.
  11. Knowing Gabby it is probs to remain at the Villa but make sure you get what you deserve with a new contract.
  12. True. Also Purlow has managed the narrative today by suggesting he's been offered the world with an 'ambitious' Villa and if he wants to go he has to turn that down.
  13. Reading way too much that comment. He said CL or WC/Euros. Standard answer, biggest prize in club football. Also said his idol was Gabby, and he had been speaking to him today with a cheeky grin. It was just a bog standard interview.
  14. I believe this is what the club are doing through Percy etc.
  15. or the idiots will say 'we're spending the Grealish money'
  16. Just because you say it is objective does not make it so. This is just your opinion. It is also false equivalency to compare to Yorke, or Barry or Young or Delph. A case can be made for both scenarios. I think the case for him remaining this season is a stronger one.
  17. https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/norwich-city-announce-lotus-as-shirt-sponsor-8087836 Brilliant news!!
  18. Yes. Club have been spot on with this, wrestling back control. Worst thing would be to say nothing. To me Percy = Purslow
  19. No. But we all sacrifice the short term for a better long term. I do not know how Jack feels. I can only imagine what I would do in that situation. For me winning something with Villa is better than winning something Citeh. I would not want to leave this project, right now. But if he does then that is on him. To reiterate my views on it: NSWE have taken control of the narrative. They will fight for him. Push back the tide. If Jack goes he turns his back on us but I rest assured that the ownership did all they could. Look, Jack is ambitious, you can see that. But I have a sneaking feeling that he looks for any excuse or inkling to remain with us, that is just the lens I view this saga with. I have always envisaged next season as the real battle. Depending of Jacks' trajectory and Villas'. If he has an similar/improved season and we miss out on Europe again, well.
  20. To which, NSWE can point to the improvements that were made on the pitch last year, plus summer addition/s. To add to captain, talisman, influencer and nice pay rise plus chance to play in front of packed VP again. What I like is that NSWE have taken control of the narrative. The sounds are good. They will fight for him. Push back the tide. If Jack goes he turns his back on us but I rest assured that the ownership did all they could. Look, Jack is ambitious, you can see that. But I have a sneaking feeling that he looks for any excuse or inkling to remain with us. I have always envisaged next season as the real battle. Depending of Jacks' trajectory and Villas'. If he has an similar/improved season and we miss out on Europe again, well. If we get Europa, well. If we get CL, no problems.
  21. If you're reading into comments he made, he said 'Europa' or 'Champions League'. Surely the draw of doing that with Villa is greater than doing it with City. Maybe he will go, but I do not think its beyond the realms of strong possibility that he stays, for this season at least.
