Would have loved Bent at the start of the O'Neil era, we'd be in a far different position if we'd have got a true goalscorer with the other players we also had.
At first i thought he should have scored, but when looking at it again it was a really tricky shot (IMO), the defender effectively dummies the ball and Weimann has to react so quickly so he just sticks a foot out and draws a great save.
We're needing other results now to keep us away from the drop.
We need Everton to beat Palace
We need City to beat Sunderland
We need Liverpool to beat Fulham
and Stoke vs Swansea would be helpful if they drew.
You would expect the first 3 to go according to plan, but the last one could go either way. We need these results now just to keep the pressure off us. Hope Lambert can sort out our home form for the game against Norwich. Hopefully we can snatch something against Newcastle as well.
Fulham (H) -
Palace (A) -
Southampton (H) -
Swansea (A) -
Hull (H) -
Spurs (A) -
Thats really not a bad run in. On our good days we can beat 5 of those 6.
I believe it was this game last season that turned our season around, and stopped us from going down.
Beating them 2-1 and hanging on for the 3 points was massive.
Hope we can do it again today.
Why does everything have to be so black and white?
If we win today:
The players deservedly get some of the credit (most notably the scorers, or the defenders if we keep a clean sheet etc...)
Lambert deservedly gets some credit for setting us up in the correct way tactically.
The fans get some credit for roaring on the team.
Not very often in this world are things down to solely one person. Often credit and/or blame is shared between various different people.
Those numbers probably aren't quite right are they?
Lambert himself said the likes of Bacuna, Westwood and Lowton were really low. Under 1mil i thought
