Hmmm, I think we are all being too quick to write Bannan off and the influence he could have on the team this year. I still think we are stronger centrally than we are outwide. I know we may be playing narrowly this season but attacking down the wings is always a good plan B at least and Im not sure we have that ability with our current crop of wingers. A left back and a left winger are still the two key areas for me. If we can bring these in then by all means, have a look at a big DMC.

I think if we bring in: David Murphy N'Daw N'Zonzi J. Beckford Then there is a strong possibilty of a 6th-8th place finish this season. All VERY underrated players.

Desperately need 2/3 more players. A Wide player and a Left back are a must. If we dont sign anyone, cant see us finishing any higher than 12th. If we do sign a couple of quality players before the end of the window, 8th-10th. In terms of cup runs, all depends on the draws. That said, Id be more confident of going to places like Anfield and White Hart lane with Lambert in charge as he may actually try and win the games. Big couple of weeks for us in the transfer market. I have no idea how much money is available but Ive always thought for Lambert to come to Villa, he must have been promised a decent amount of money and he has hardly spent anything yet. UTV

Douglas is a very good player. Him and Vlaar at centre half would be excellent. Would love this one to come off.

Heard a whisper today we were after a few more players. A left back, centre half and one other. All I heard is that its a Man City player. I believe the left back to be the lad from Ipswich and Im not sure about the centre half, Vlaar im guessing? I have no idea who the Man City player could be...Johnson springs to mind? Either way, take this with a pinch of salt! Im anything but 'ITK'.

I think you are blind if you can not see the difference between those nationalities. I am in no way saying Australians are superior but there is definitely an inbuilt drive to succeed within Australian sport even if we aren't the most skillful.

From a Feyenoord fan: Cool to see interest in Ron, he's the ultimate professional, works hard for the team and always gives 100%. He's physical dominating defender winning most headers. He has decent footballing capacities and is a great leader. He's currently going trough a rough time as co-international van der Wiel slept with his wife which led to Vlaar's divorce, so England is a new start for him. He has to work on his concentration but I'm sure he'll do fine at Villa! He's made for English football. .... So, it sounds really promising in all fairness. Sounds like a good player. Also, His missus will **** anything that walks so thats always nice to know...
